To be fair, Kishorilal's hypocrisy was exposed in the film's climax. It's not that the film was oblivious to it.
That being said, the film is an unintentional laughathon that got patriotism all wrong. It genuinely believed that the US of A is a culture-less land and India is the greatest of all countries.
Yes, therein lies the problem. This ridiculous polarisation that was unwarranted even for its time.
When my family left for the US when I was 12, I was seriously told by my relatives not to do drugs when I get there and when my parents become old, not to send them to old folks home. Like honestly, WTF?! Who says that to a 12 year old whose life is literally being turned upside down. As if when you land, immigration gives you a joint and says, chalu karo. And you don’t start hating your parents or see them as a burden when you get on a plane out of India 🙄.

Just came across your content and it is quite good. Absolutely love(with some exception) the way you caught details and compared them. Totally agree with you that the patriotism the movie depicts is not a good one but I don't find it appropriate or funny to compare drugs to "desh ki mitti" and taking shots of gaumutra when someone says Himdustani as this is as wrong as the depiction of patriotism in the movie. That's my take.
