      If many pro basketball players decided to play football they would not be in the NFL, they would dominate the NFL. Lebron James would be the greatest receiver ever. So would a number of guys in the NBA, its already been proven. Guys like antonio Gates, college basketball player wasnt good enough to play in NBA, Tony Gonzales college basketball player wasnt good enough to play even close to the NBA, and a bunch of others who became big Time NFL players who played college ball but couldnt sniff the NBA. NBA players have everything football players do, except they are a foot taller than many NFL players.

When you look at athletic testing football players are superior to basketball players. LeBron is good in the NBA because he plays a small man's game and gets to use his size and strength. He would not have a size and strength advantage in the NFL. Besides the NFL tests for PED's. LeBron would be suspended. You have to have football instincts to play football. They don't have them.

    I think 30 is too big of a number, but to transition from the NBA to NFL is easier than the other way around. Antonio Gates, Julius Peppers, Jimmy Graham all played at pro-bowl levels and were former basketball players. I've never heard of any such former football players making that transition to the NBA. What hurts is that NFL players are very short compared to NBA players. Like Myles Garret is 6'4" but there are point guards, the smallest position on the court, that are taller than him. Handling a basketball is much more difficult that catching a football with sticky gloves on.

There are many NBA players that could athletically play in the NFL. It would take some time to get accustomed to the physicality and at least some NBA players would be able to get accustomed to the physicality and some would quit. NFL is the only sport where guys can walk on with zero experience, one comes to mind is willie parker, steelers running back. He was a truck driver and tried out and became a pro bowl RB, victor cruz is another walk on. Football also has guys come from other sports, baseball? Russell wilson and pat mahommes, theres also been guys come over from rugby. And i agree you could only transition in certain positions, wr, te, special teams, easy stuff like that. Football is also a sport where u can easily change positions, ahmad bradsaw was a qb in college, drafted as a corner, became a all pro RB. You really cant do that in the nba, if your a 7fter your a center and thats it. If your 6ft your a point guard, your not playing center. Austin Rivers was an average-at best NBA player. He's extremely biased because he's only looking at the skill & athleticism. If football was strictly about skill & athleticism, TB12 wouldn't have made any team to have the chance chance to become MJ of the NFL. Brady has taken hits that would've retired the modern nba player, and Brady got up, talked his talk, and ran the next play; many times taking another vicious hit as he threw the ball. It's one thing to get knocked to the ground by contact, but it's something otherworldly to have 2+ guys driving you into the ground/turf. NBA players aren't rocked up enough to absorb those types of falls repetitively 60 times every Sunday. They won't finish week 1, if they get 5 of those over 4qtrs. I watched Shaq be acutely aware of the damage he'd cause by allowing players & fans to absorb his 300lbs + momentum. Imagine Austin on 3rd & 6 running a crossing route across an NFL LB's face? The Box Safety & LB are putting 490lbs of bad intentions on him the moment he touches the ball...and he might get moved toward a 330lb DT who just turned. NBA players don't want that kinda "physical". They're not conditioned for that level of violent punishment, snap after snap.

    Full disclaimer. The NFL is my favorite sports league, football is my favorite sport, and I played organized football growing up so I'm biased. But the sporting that I've always considered the closest to us would actually be hockey/NHL and not the NBA.
    It's just that we (black Americans) dont play much hockey so I dont have experience playing it in real life, but on TV, hockey looks like it is the nearest sport to football in terms of physicality and toughness not basketball or baseball.

  • @DanielRidore
    @DanielRidore Před měsícem +1

    Football is more violent and direct contact but the NBA takes more fitness and athleticism. Remember in the NFL they stop after every play and guys only play offense or defense. So you have some star players who only play 40% of the game. In the NBA star players have to play around 75-80% of the game and there’s no stopping unless it’s a foul or timeout. The NFL also isn’t as physical as it used to be.

    • @matthewdennis1739

      Its intensity vs. endurance. You get a break in football because you need that break. Between the whistles you are going 110% and a lot of times you're having to block, tackle, wrestle with guys bigger than you. If you watch a basketball game there is a lot of jogging, striding, and time where you aren't going all out.
      Neither is better or harder, just different. I played both at a high school level and football in college. It's just a different kind of fitness and athleticism.

    Its not even a contest, NBA players could not only play in the NFL, they would dominated the NFL with their combo size and speed and athleticism, they are half a foot to a foot taller and more athletic than NFL players. Its been proven with football players who played basketball, not one could play in the NBA except maybe Julius Peppers but all became superstar football players in the NFL.

    Do you realize that Tony Gonzalez played college basketball and was a backup forward behind Sherrif AbdurRahim at Cal? He might be the greatest TE to play football. Football players are crazy.
    Name one person who played college football only who played in the NBA.

    This is one hundred percent because of how soft the league is now. When Joey porter and John lynch were ripping peoples heads off, nba players wouldn’t think they’d be able to walk into the nfl 😂 enjoy your soft league nfl fans, where anyone thinks they can play now. Sad

      Naw bro the injuries these guy are getting are way worse. They're playing with fractured ribs, sprained ankles, brused bones, broken hands, there's a reason nfl players get addicted to pain killers they really out there playing hurt. Nba players sit out because they're sore

      @@THESBARTIS they can play with those things because their jobs don't require them to do that much. Everyone only has one job. And nba players play injured all the time. Andrew Wiggins played in the playoffs last year with a fractured rib. Nba players dislocate their fingers and pop it back in all the time doing the games.

    Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates are all failed basketball players whose lack of athleticism are fully exposed on a basketball court. NFL athletes are far more diverse, but nba players would break the nfl with enough training.

    • @untamedn7987
      @untamedn7987 Před 28 dny

      Too say that any of those guys lacked athleticism is completely wrong.. maybe they weren’t tall enough or didn’t have the skill. Randy Moss is probably faster and can jump higher than 95% of players in NBA history. The football player is typically the better athlete. Just not as tall. And taller doesn’t mean more athletic.
