Hi Amanda. Thank you for this video. We are going on an Alaska cruise in mid-May and I'm prepping now. You mentioned in one of your videos that you didn't change for dinner....that is what we are planning to do. Thank you for mentioning that!
Yay congrats on your upcoming cruise. If you have never been to Alaska it is so magical. I also went to Alaska in 2022 and took separate clothes for dinner. I was definitely overpacked and most people wore what they had worn to port. Most people did not dress up at all. You still had a few that liked to dress up. Since that happened in 2022 I decided to just pack 1 outfit per day and that worked out much better. Lighter suitcase and extra room for souvenirs. I'm not sure what cruise line you are taking but I do know that from 2 separate Alaska cruises on Norwegian no one really dressed up. I also sometimes like to take jeans and maybe wear them more than once but I did not do that here bc you never know when it's going to rain and if your bottoms will get really wet. Something else to keep in mind. Have a wonderful trip!!!

I think I’m going to go back to Florida towards the end of the month to stay with her for a few weeks. Ken is still going to PT, I swear it has been such a long drawn out process with him getting a prosthetic. Hopefully he will be walking soon.
@@cathyhanson5885 that's wonderful that she will coming up to visit. I know you had said he hasn't been able to get down there to see her. Well I hope he will be walking soon too. I know this has been a difficult time for you guys with your surgery and his rehabilitation. Hope you have a wonderful visit with your daughter.
I had brought separate dinner clothes for my Alaska cruise the previous year. It was the same itinerary and ship. I noticed that not many people were dressing up for dinner. I learned from the cruise the previous year that people basically were wearing what they wore at port so I did the same. This is the only cruise itinerary that I don’t wear something completely different for dinner. That just seems to be what everyone was doing so I packed less for this cruise due to that fact. I hope that was helpful.

Oh my gosh did I not mention socks? I’m sorry. I actually wore some wool blend socks that were a little higher so that I didn’t have to worry about my water proof shoes possibly rubbing blisters in case the socks somehow got wet. Main things to remember is rainproof jacket and water proof shoes. Make sure to layer too. There were times when I would just need a tee shirt but other times when I was glad to have a tee and fleece on top. Also make sure to take binoculars. You will see lots of wildlife from the ship itself sometimes but especially if you are taking an excursion including wildlife. Have a wonderful trip!!!!
Oh I hope you have a wonderful trip!!!! Alaska is beautiful. I think it was either day 2 or 3 that we signed up for the port valet. It was a sign up sheet that I believe was left in our room. It literally was the best!!! Not all airlines participate so check that. We flew Delta.
Yes! I did it worked out perfect. They put baggage tickets outside your door the day before. And you pay Norwegian for baggage fee if any. The best part they don’t charge for over weight. It says it on the paper they give you. So I stuff my luggage and only kept like the mugs or stuff that might break in my backpack
@@blancaperez9036 Isn't it the perfect way to take care of your luggage without a hassle. I love it!! We just got off a Princess cruise and they actually charged for the service, NCL did not. Hope you enjoyed your trip!

Do u sign up for the port valet ahead of time or when your already on the boat? My first Alaskan Cruise is this May 2024. Thx for all the info
