    I'm starting my job in QSFB in a couple weeks and this made me feel a lot better about it. Thank you for being so in depth and informative!

    i just found out that I am doing QSFB cashier for the disneyland college program in fall 2015, and honestly I'm not excited for this role at all. I have heard nothing but horrible things about this role, but I am glad I came across your video because it has put me at ease.

    Thanks for posting. I used to work store ops at Disneyland for 10.5 years. Then I left. I have just been rehired at the resort into quick service foods as a cashier.

    Your insight is definitely helpful. I just got cast in QSFB for the upcoming Fall Advantage program in WDW, even though I didn't want that haha.

    thank you so much for this! I haven't seen anyone go as in depth into QSFB so this was awesome (I'm starting in August). and it definitely made me feel a bit better about everything - one of my previous jobs was working at Subway and I felt like I was always running around like a mad person, so I feel a little bit prepared! haha.

    Depends on your location, but generally yes. Food prep is usually a part of the QSFB role.

    Yes, I'm in that video for a brief moment asking a question! :) And aww, thanks I'm far from famous, but I have to admit it's pretty awesome being in one of those videos because I watched them religiously before I did my program!

    Hey! Thank you for doing this video. I was just accepted for the Fall 2014 program and received the role of QSFB. I have a couple of questions that I would appreciate if you would answer. (1) How many days a week do you get off (if you are not taking any classes)? (2) Are the days off consecutive days off? (3) What was a typical schedule for you as a QSFB role? (4) Is it possible to make more money in this role than what is offered (I read on a blog that people who worked on main street were paid .75 on the dollar)? Thank you for any help you have to offer! Have a great day! Thanks again!

    Oh for anyone also needing to wear uncomfortable shoes. What works better than dr sholls. A memory foam kitchen mat. I pulled the insert out of my shoes. Traced them onto the mat, cut the shape out of the mat and inserts into my shoes.

  • @TheThemeParkEvangelist

    Great video! Very informative! I will be doing this job a month from this Saturday. :O

    Not to be rude, but...what value do you gain by interning with Disney versus, say, grabbing a job at McDonalds?

    • @DisneydenBlogspot
      @DisneydenBlogspot  Před 7 lety +1

      There are many different aspects and benefits to joining the Disney College Program. Simply "grabbing a job at McDonald's" will not include learning/educational opportunities with established Disney professionals, networking event opportunities within the company, and an overall immersive experience with fellow cast members. If you would like to learn more, you can easily find more information about how different this program is from what you expressed by googling various blogs and videos, including mine.

    Hi, I'm going to do QSFB for the Spring Advantage Program in 2014, and I heard some stories of people doing QSFB and burn themselves terribly during making fries. I am not sure whether these people are in the DCP and I'd like to ask are making fries and pizzas part of our job?

    Hey! Just a quick question, I went to go read the blog you suggested and it says that we need to be invited? Do you know how we can get invited to read it? I'd like to learn more! I'm doing QSFB in the spring advantage 2015 :) My question is what kind of work experience did you have before this that you felt made you better prepared than some people you said were complaining? I worked at Kohl's for a while as a cashier, and also some other retail places, so I figure it's pretty similar in pace and work to those kind of jobs, Thanks for posting!

    • @DisneydenBlogspot
      @DisneydenBlogspot  Před 4 lety

      If you're doing the DCP, I don't believe it's possible to transfer. If you're a regular cast member, at least in Disneyland you'll have the opportunity to apply to transfer after your probation period is over (a few months)

    Do we have to cook?

    • @DisneydenBlogspot
      @DisneydenBlogspot  Před 9 lety +1

      Joanne Ng It depends on the restaurant, but most of the time it's nothing more than using a fryer for burgers or fries, or maybe quick oven usage for pizzas and flatbreads.

    Thank you for covering everything in detail, it was really useful! It would be nice if you could look into the camera lens rather than your own face when you film though, it feels distracting otherwise, just a small tip (:

    • @DisneydenBlogspot
      @DisneydenBlogspot  Před 8 lety

      +iamwinnyee I'm glad you found this useful, and I used my phone to film all of my videos, so it's difficult to focus on the tiny little dot of a lens that my phone has instead of the large screen.

    Since you worked with quick service... is any non alcholic drink available on the quick service dining plan? instead of a soft drink would I be able to get a bottle of water without losing a snack credit? I'm planning to go to Disney world for the first time in 2017. Thanks :)

    • @DisneydenBlogspot
      @DisneydenBlogspot  Před 7 lety

      I'm sorry I'm so late to responding to this! Yes, non alcoholic beverages are included in the dining plan. You can include a bottled water with your quick service meal as the "drink" part to your meal. Hope this helps!

    Hello😄may I also ask that is the wifi signal in theme park and housing complex strong? If the signal is strong than I will not buy data plan.
    From your experience did your previous participants left their router so that we don't need to buy a new one? Haha:) thx

    • @DisneydenBlogspot
      @DisneydenBlogspot  Před 8 lety

      Unfortunately the wifi isn't very strong in the apartments and cuts out frequently in the parks. You will more than likely need to bring a router :) If you want to ask me any more questions it might be easier to email me! thedisneyden@yahoo.com :)

    Hello! I am working in WDW quick service F&B in a few days! (I come from HK haha) May I ask a few questions?
    1.Do we need to buy socks and if this is so, what specifications (colour...) are they?
    2. Is it possible that we wear dress for uniform? As I am thinking of buying undergarment...
    3. We are going to check in Vista way and only at that time we will know our housing allocation right? But then do we need to pay for the transportation from Vista way (check in) to our complex? Will disney provide transportation for us?
    Thanks a lot :)

    • @DisneydenBlogspot
      @DisneydenBlogspot  Před 8 lety +1

      1. Usually black socks are the standard if you wear pants, while white socks are for if you wear shorts. Your facilitators will tell you everything you need to know about what to wear within your first few days.
      2. Some roles require dresses/skirts, but most are pants.
      3. I'm not 100% sure for international students, but for domestic CPs we have an online housing assignment program that tells you beforehand where you're gonna live. International may be different. They will provide transportation to your apartment from Vista Way through buses :)

    • @DisneydenBlogspot
      @DisneydenBlogspot  Před 9 lety +3

      Ashley Frese I think so, because I'm a marketing major and I was able to explore many different positions within the company that I wasn't aware of previously. I wish I had utilized the opportunity to network more within the class, but I was new and didn't know about the benefits of networking while I was there at the time. I might actually make a video about this in the near future.
