Thank you, it is regular hob filter, I use extra filter media from eheim canister filter.

Beautiful aquarium! Goodness its so hard for me to create a full nanoscape because tropica does not have dealers in Nevada or ADA :(
I think there is one in San Francisco also For your information I am not using ADA materials only my tank Is ADA (glass)

I’m just making sure the average pH level is OK in my DIY CO2 aquariums! If I use same style filter and same mixture of DIY co2 in same dimension tanks Ph always staying approximate the same level which is safe for shrimps most of fish and plants!

This literally looks like something that was filmed for animal planet! Beautiful setup, after having my first betta pass away about a week ago I am trying as hard as I can to find the right setup for my next one, with there being so many plants is it hard to clean the gravel, or do you usually not need to? I am still trying to learn everything I can, real plants are new to me :)
Thank you Teejay, no need to clean soil ( it is not gravel) I feed him once a day with small amounts of food! And you have to make sure he finish all! When I change the water I m gently vacuuming mosses with small aquarium air tubing ( for fish waste)

My experience, plant the tank heavily, you dont have to have cO2, some people prefer it

How do you prevent water film? I currently have a 10 gal and at the end of the day my surface is full with co2 bubbles and a oily film
I m taking out some water from the water surface :)
or a skimmer, they are very effective, and really not not too aggressive or ugly. I have one in my 200ltr tank, it adds nice water distribution and can remain hidden behind plants etc.

@@Tropictank Skimmer could be running every other 30 minutes allowing to escape from it ;) I think this was one of pro tips from Jurijs some time ago ;)

Too much co2 can lower the PH to a point where it CAN be deadly to the fish, completely possible to keep awesome looking plants without adding co2 :)

adding co2 is totally personal preference.. there is no question of agree or disagree.. even without co2 plants do fine (with slow growth rate)
Yes thats so true. You can always chose some tall steam plants, java moss and anubias nana for example and you dont need co2. And there are also many other plants...

Betta fish supposed to have 26-27C
I think my water is a little too strong for your fragile sissy plants and the beta. The hardness would turn it to stone and it would sink like a decoration for my shrimp to pose on
