Game has speficic protection against editing values manually, don't try it anymore, if it is online game, u might risk a perma ban
Good old times, I was messing with cheat engine in online poker games for $$$, it worked pretty well.
It still works nowdays in GTA V online for example [ YOU CAN GET BANNED ].
But it's pretty fun to mess with it, good old cheat engine, never gets old.

I did EXACTLY that
but for some reason the "Next scan" shows 0 addresses
and even wierder, when I typed in the same new value as a new scan, it shows a different amount of addressess
any idea what's going on???
(It's on a diff game, btw)
Sample Real Case:
Money now: 500
(Typed in 500 as First Scan -> it shows 10 Addresses)
Bought sth
Money then: 400
(Typed in 400 then hit next scan -> it shows 0 addresses)
(Clicked new scan, then typed in 400, then hit First scan -> It shows 25 addresses)
It finds various numbers that happen to be 500 at the moment of the first scan.
The most likely reason why this fails is that the game stores money in a different format. Try float or double or - if you can handle the ram/cache or the game is small enough - value type: all

It's quite sad that the previous versions of Cheat Engine worked just fine and didn't cause any issues and now this new 7.4 loads a whole bunch of friendly adware and malware onto your computer. DO NOT INSTALL VERSION 7.4 OF CHEAT ENGINE. INSTALLING PREVIOUS VERSIONS MAY OR MAY NOT BE HARMFUL AS WELL.
Edit: Looks like I was wrong about Cheat Engine. It's fine. I tested it on a VM then downloaded it on my main computer. Just make sure to decline everything in that adware-ridden downloader.
hello, am playing lust case and i find nothing in the next scan, can you help?
How would I find out where rpm is stored if its displayed only as a analog gauge? Im trying to get address for speed and rpm for Flat Out 2 game. I tried scanning in ranges (700 - 8000 )but so far no success :(
It always shows that it has 0 results no matter what game or search options I use
THANK YOU. This actually worked for me. Just keep in mind for some currencies, you have to buy or sell and item to get teh new value to show up.
At the bottom of the screen above the red x thing there is a check box for pause the game while scanning. This does as it says on the tin, it will halt the game process from running and then scan memory while the game is frozen. good for games that don't have pause menus... or pause menus that don't actually pause things. But yes, some games or programs will detect they are frozen and may try to sudoku them selves, so it's a double edge sword.
Also yeah this is a good basic tutorial. You may run into an issue where you only edited the value in the hud not the actual value as it may not be rounded for eg. So you will need to find a pointer for that memory to find out what memory address wrights to the hud and edit that instead.
but yeah overall good basic tutorial. I'm just rusty and forgot how all of this worked...

I have a question about using a cheat engine. I have been trying to use a cheat engine on a certain game, for Devil May Cry. I am trying to edit the character health to 1 hp using a cheat engine. I know what the number value is for when Health is full, but only with a fully upgraded health bar. Currently in the game, I don't have the health bar fully upgraded, but tried to plug in the value for 1 hp in the area where I can change the value for the amount of health I have. The cheat engine I am using is one someone else made, so the default value for full health is with the fully upgraded health bar. So I tried to edit that value to 1 hp anyway, but this does not seem to work. I have tried asking around in other places already. What might I be doing wrong?
When u can't see the phisical value, it turns much harder to edit it, maybe u can find some software that reveals the hp points u have in ur game?

Even though this video is a year old it's still very helpful. Had a question though, what do you look for in games that don't use a health counter? For example COD or tomb raider, they rely on visual prompts i.e. the screen just gets more bloodier or goes gray indicating near death.

Search for unknown value, and decreased value or increased value for the next scans based on whether the visuals make it look like you've lost more health or recovered health. Keep repeating the process until you've narrowed it down to a few search results, look for the ones that seem most likely to work and try freezing them when you're at full health. If freezing one of them keeps you from dying, that's the correct one.
The variable type is probably going to be either 4 Bytes or Float (sometimes it's Double but I've rarely seen that used outside of Flash games).

Depends on the game but it may break the game
3 options: crash (most possible outcome)
Break game (maybe u die in 1 shot, maybe 1 hit will overflow ur life and set it to like -1)

Probably a float, search for 4000. If not sure, search for "all" types (if your RAM can take it, keep task manager open with performance tab on, stop cheatengine if it ends up using up more than all available ram)

How does this work for games that have health bars that don't show numbers. when you want to higher your health bar would you just type in health because there's no number for it?
use "unkown intial value" and then decrease/increase it, if it shows the amount it decreased by/increased by, use the "decreased by" or "increased by" if not, use "decreased" or "increased"

I'm doing what you do, typing "first scan" and then a few times "next scan", and when the value changes, i write it and i click again "next scan" and nothing is found. So, it doesn't work

How do I identify an objective or quest to mark it as complete?
The game I'm playing has an odd glitch where it's not registering that I've completed the task (it asks me to build a kitchen, I build the kitchen, it doesn't cross off). How do I tell it I've done the task?
Another game has a location locked, but that location is essential to completing a quest that allows me to access another location to complete another quest, which unlocks another location, blah blah, goes on a few times. There is no way to unlock this location from what I can tell, so I expect it's a glitch. Is there a way to unlock it using Cheat Engine?
How do you change the pop cap in the first company of heroes I tried the console method and it did not work I've set the shortcut of the game to -dev, and I've tried trainers. All I want is to change the value of the population cap.

what if ammo counter is for example 100/300 do i search 100, 300 or 100/300?
If the value is 100/300 (for example in ammo) it means u have a 100 clip and 300 extra bullets (3 clips), so either look for 400 (all bullets combined), 100 (the bullets in ur current belt) or 300 (the bullets u have left)

It means there’s some sort of thing that checks everything is alright with the numbers and code in the game so it cannot be edited In cheat engine

I am having a hard time getting the address for values in godsbane idle on steam? I managed to get the Prestige Points but not some more obvious whole number ones I tried all the value types. Maybe you can try the free game godsbane idle on steam and see for yourself. I can't find the address for god points even though I can increase them and decrease them by 1, I tried using the exact value 4 byte and the value is 24 then I added one point into a stat so my total went down to 23 I then tried searching that and 0 address came back. I minus the one point so I have 25 god points again then did the first exact scan again 4 byte and scanned 24 this time I added the 1 god point into a stat so now I have 23 god points this time I did decreased value and kept doing decreased value and still not able to find the value or pointer. I'm starting to think maybe unity has a way to block this type of thing.

instead of opening the blustacks app, go to the processes tab at the top and open the games process
So lets say I make the missile ammo stay at 8. Then I close the game and restart the pc. Next time I want to play do I need to open cheat engine or the cheat stay in the game.
You can save the cheat table you made in the top left corner of cheat engine, you can load it back up later
ALTHO, most games swap the value around each time they boot up, some extra knowledge is necessary to circumvent this and i don't know how to do it myself

browsers have a different "process" for each tab, so start up cheat engine, on the select list, got to the top and click processes and find the tab

Also u can't edit money directly in gta O, it's stored in online servers, so when u edit it, it gets instantly corrected

There is, but is basically impossible cuz udk wats the phisical value, therefore it's impossible to accurately know the hp u have, making it impossible to edit
@@DatBoi_TheGudBIAS correction you can "guess" by finding unknown initial value and go up or down from there the issue here is that you need to have a time where said value isnt changing so you can search for value has not changed

Idk, but probably no, the value might be stored in an external server, and updates constantly, or there is something on the game storing the true values in real time and updating them, wich will reset them when u edit them manually
right click it, click "what writes to this address" attach it, change the value, click on the thing that shows up, click on "replace" and enter any random gibberish
