Devcon is definitely a cool character with a purpose. I wish they expanded on his backstory in more episodes. I dig that voice of Mr. Slate was very involved in Transformers with many other characters.
I’m sure that collectors like me want an original mold of Devcon exactly as he appeared in “The Gambler”. He deserves it, but most importantly, we deserve it! I’m so glad you made this retrospective Michael! It was awesome like you!

Hasbro has shown us they've dropped the ball with Devcon. Hopefully, a Third Party company will see this video and become inspired to produce a decent figure of this character, for once! They could call their version "DEFTCON."
It's crazy, I never thought about this guy outside of the G1 episode he appeared in. Didn't realise that there was so much expanded universe lore associated with him. Great stuff, Michael 👍

Thanks so much for making this! Defcon was my favorite Transformer before The Movie, and The Gambler is 1 of my favorite episodes.
The reason he's running at 6:34 instead of Transforming, is because they wanted to save his Transform as a surprise for the end.
I don't give much thought to the Botcon stories. I like to think Defcon & Slizardo are still a team. They can retool Titans Returns Blurr into Defcon with headmaster Slizardo.

Devcon needs an action figure. Better yet, his own spinoff series.
If he ever was brought back into a main storyline, would he be rebranded as a member of the Mercenary faction.
It seems to me that a remold of The latest Scourge is a no brainer for the Gen Selects line.
You know, if Smokescreen had lead with that one of the Autobots that Lord Ghicani (can't spell his name) had in his possession was Optimus Prime, Devcon might have been willing to join in the rescue.
Devcon I one of my untapped favorite characters ever. I have his MTF and Iron Factory figures, and also going to customize a CHUG scaled figure. He had so much potential.

There will soon be a Lego Creators Expert Optimus Prime that transforms without needing to take it apart. The design is also based off of G1 Prime X3

I think it's a CRIME that he only gotten two toys as I typed this! Like I really hope he get a new mold soon like in the current Legacy toyline (thought he would of gotten one in the Generation lines)!
Look like my wish got fulfill abliet a monkey paw of sort! The upcoming Legacy toy look great in robot mode but not so much in spaceship mode! It doesn't look that wide especially the arms/ wings area!

Just recently got my hands on the Legacy Evolution Devcon. Feels really good in hand.
And now we have him in the Transformers Legacy toyline, I have mine and it looks funny next Road Rage, another Autobot bounty hunter. BTW, Lizzaldo appears as a bounty hunter hired by Galvatron to find some particles to destroy the Autobots in the S3 episode "Grimlock's New Brain".
Love to see a Super7 Devcon.

Hi Micheal,Devcon is very obscure but also he is very cool also I always enjoy your hard work and videos Micheal thank you for the Retrospective video about Devcon keep them coming,also Devcon is a self proclaimed Bounty Hunter and Autobot one of the few successful few during the years of the great war and has an intense hatred of all Decepticons,he spent his time hunting those who were too dangerous for the other Autobots to consider.also he has an arm mounted Plasma blaster and a head mounted laser cannon his alternate mode is his Space cruiser capable of long range interstellar flight, he's friendly,courteous,and joval but he's also a bitter cynic,but he's also a Ally of the Heroic Autobots.also thanks for sharing Micheal keep up the good work and Till All Are Fun.🙂👍🇺🇸🏋️🦸

A fun little romp down one of Transformers back alley. Devcon is the kind of bot whose got my back. I agree SS Scourge/Sweeps could work as Generation Selects Devcon. I could also see him with a pair of mini-cons like Drift in Robots in Disguise. One a Targetmaster and the other a Titan master.
SO WEIRD HOW I RANDOMLY WAS RUNNING ABOUT DEVCON 2DAYS AGO WHILE WALKING MY DOG.. then you do a video … Cool
Couldn't imagine him with the Autobots on earth ( only reason this transformation to a space ship ) although I can see him in season 3 of the Transformers on Cybertron being as Cybertron Chief of Security.
He'd probably scan a jet for disguse, or just stay a space ship like Skyfire.

One possibility for why he didn't transform early on: as a starship he may spend long periods in vehicle mode. He probably just likes a chance to literally stretch his legs when he can.

Got a current day release of a Devcon toy and found this while looking for lore.
Hopefully there's a recolor of SS86 Scourge with a few cosmetic changes to its design like FTL engines on its side. I was hoping that there would be an Alpha Trion too similar to what IronFactory had done for their Scourge mold.
The only thing I noticed about him as a adult was he had the same sounding voice as kup.
I would love for Pedro Pascal to voice Devcon in a future project.
Beast Wars DEPTH CHARGE reminds me of DEVCON . The Lizard is seen again in a season 3 Episode forget the name of the Episode .

I think I seen Slizardo in an episode during season 3 wasn’t that him in Ghost in the machine or Starscreams ghost episode when Octane was talking to Sandstorm 🤔 or one of his race of aliens possibly idk exactly been awhile since I saw them episodes

there is also the MFT sweeper / cosmos catcher 3RD party figure which kinda looks like him - i plan on making new parts for him

Hope so.
I see him as a character that was a good guy that was just on his own for a very long time and developed a hard edge.
Who knows what team he used to fly with that was killed off one by one? (like the 85 group was probably a team that came over all at once on Omega Supreme).
Now he earns his energon by bringing justice to the universe one bad guy at a time, always on the look out for Deceticons.
