    MAN, I wish I knew about your channel years ago when I was a stage hand and a lighting tech. So much good information that's easy to understand. Please keep going!

    Great video! I appreciate the info. I about got sucked into the "These are cheap" trap. Dug in a little and realized they were going to take a bit of processing power, etc. Thank you for the info and review!

    These look pretty awesome. I’d be interested in better understanding how the programming for these works.

    As a newbie to this world I’m running spectrapix battens. How do I pixel map these fixtures?? 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @infolasershowrental1417

    wow you can get the right length of cables with this model.
    And then so messy connected for promo video

    8 dmx channels according to gamma site, so you do not have full control of each pixel?

    • @LearnStageLighting
      @LearnStageLighting  Před 2 lety +3

      That would be the lowest channel mode - basically a set of macros. In it's full mode, it's 240 channels per bar (full RGB pixel control x 80)

    This might be a dumb question, but are you able to do Pixel Mapping over DMX lines, or do you have to utilize sACN/Art-Net/Kling-Net? I'm considering a system of Pixel fixtures for a backdrop for my church but would like to know if I have to make sure I have network cables ran for the system before committing to the idea.

    • @LearnStageLighting
      @LearnStageLighting  Před rokem +1

      Must use network, yeah, DMX would be 2 fixtures per universe....so that wouldn't go far! :)

    6:31 "Art-Net only' and you like it? Art-Net has recommended lower FPS. sACN E1.31 is a far better protocol for pixels.

    • @tofitatv
      @tofitatv Před 2 lety

      Yea but sACN requires an ethernet cable doesn't it?

    • @ArjanvanVught
      @ArjanvanVught Před 2 lety

      @@tofitatv Both Art-Net and sACN E1.31 are using UDP/IP. Where Art-Net is network unfriendly. In any case sACN E1.31 is the better protocol for pixels.

    4,569.00 USD!! That's insane! I mean I realize you got to make some profit but! 4k is like a ETC 4! Which is a more useful fixture.

    • @LearnStageLighting
      @LearnStageLighting  Před rokem +1

      It's actually on the cheaper end for pixel strip systems if you look across all the manufactures. Keep in mind that's for a package of fixtures! For many users doing music/modern worship/DJ/EDM, having a package of pixel strips is far more versatile than some Source Four's!

    Gotta love vendor lock-in! Every company has to do their own stupid protocol that only works with their systems and punishes you in some way if you go with an open standard.

    • @LearnStageLighting
      @LearnStageLighting  Před rokem

      I mean, that's true and also not true. Pixels from one brand may not physically work with another brands systems as they sometimes use different voltages and protocols for the data. So it's not quite that simple with pixels, but that's also why we like the GAMMA system - it runs on Art-Net
