human work is clearly paid cheap , flip flops , dirty people...pretty sure I bet first part of their weekly pay is paid back to employer for hiring them , by end of week they may have just enough to be able to get to work the next week. They have to do what they have to , to get by so I'm not putting them down for it now. But the moment something happens and they get injured I bet they are pushed aside , charged huge fees by employer for getting hurt there and then black balled when trying to find other employment. A country that should have set limits for offspring . To many people in a country that barely has employment for 10% of total population..

@@John-ls5nu I think they’ll run decent. They aren’t checking oil clearance but if it spins free, and the crank is used and you go with stock bearings, you’ll probably just have to much clearance which isn’t a deal breaker. Won’t last as long as a new engine but it will last for a good while. They’ll probably roll the truck off one of those “most dangerous roads” before the engine goes tits up again. As far as the torque, I bet these guys do this so much, they are within a few pounds of a torque wrench. I love these videos just for this reason. Like you, I would use a torque wrench, plasti gauge my bearings, check ring end gap with a feeler gauge and all that good stuff. I never would think of doing it this way but they do and it works! Haha crazy. It’s only for entertainment purposes, definitely not a “how to”. Maybe a “how not to do”.

The test run at the end was awesome and I loved the look on the young fellows face right at the end; doesn't matter where you live, the sound of an engine coming to life is always the icing on the cake. @@falcon8553 Coming from a current diesel tech.
Given that there are never any gloves worn and they are covered in dirt while also working on top of it, I would not wager long given the compression of a diesel motor and how easily they score. I've watched them chisel at seams with seals, beat shafts on the floor and bathe in solvent. Tolerances smaller than .015 of an inch cannot exist in this shop, which is unfortunate as valve lash on most diesels in the U.S. are under these tolerances. These motors run because they are older diesels and were overbuilt when manufactured and were built for idiots to repair them. As more Americans diesels go overseas when phased out here, this shop will probably close due to lack of equipment.
It's very important to notice that you see very few electrical cables on the motors they work on, this is not a modern motor at all.

I enjoyed the video. I like the hierarchy of guys with the older gentleman in the blue being present for all the critical procedures. The little kid is well on his way to learning the rebuild process, and working his way up to being the old guy. I knew everyone would get on them for the lack of a torque wrench, but you’d be surprised what experience can do. Im sure those torque settings have been passed down from guy to guy over the years. When u watch the mid aged guy, you can tell he is torquing them by feel. After years of torquing my aluminum wheels to 475 ft/lbs I can get them very close without a torque wrench. I’ve also done a lot of wheel bearings without failure by using a technique taught to me by an old timer before I had a dial indicator to check my work. When it comes to my motor, the first thing I do is buy the proper service manuals, and torque everything to spec. Cleanliness, and surface prep is key when doing these jobs. Regardless, they’ve got my respect. 👍

they'll all have working machines and functional economies. Whereas in the west, these skills are
not handed down so easily. It boils down to a different ethos...where the youngsters are willing,
or pressed to work for an education rather than money. But they are learning skills that will provide
security as adults. That being said, I wouldn't want to fly in an airplane serviced like this but the majority

@@carlgar2007 Ok let`s take step back, First. I have build cars and engines since I was 12 years old, also diesel engines. so yes I can do it. This engines they are building are a old type of a diesel engine, there for very simple. but yet, it demands sertan nowledge to keep it last. Yes I know but they also have mobile phones so they can also use youtube or other places to get the knowledge they need to build it right. and second. I don`t need to prove anything to you and no I don`t make videos of my work, Why should I? Do you think we have time for that bullshit? If you own a performance shop you should know what I am talking about but instead you want me to put up a stupid video that would prove if I`m telling you the truth or not? You Sir need to skow it down. All I can see in this video that is something to talk about is that they working together, but that again, also do we sometimes, so nothing new there. You wanna know what rely impress me? People that know what they are doing and a engine that goes for several years without have any service on it. That Sir I take my hat of for.
