0:06 Hollywood isn't a city. It's a district within the city of Los Angeles. West Hollywood, however, is a city and it's not a part of Los Angeles city, but it's in Los Angeles County. A lot of people get that confused. You should have said "two of the most prestigious COMMUNITIES in Los Angeles."
I lived over 10 years on Kings Rd., on border of West Hollywood. Loved it, was central to most of LA. Of course, you overlooked that WeHo has a large gay population versus Hollywood!
The local information you gave was game changing, I learned so much and I lived in LA for years. Great job Darren!
Appreciate you Tommy!! Always a ton to learn about this amazing city!!
1:52 "so it's definitely something that you gotta check out at least once in your life". I think most people could happily get by never seeing Hollywood Boulavard even once in their life.
I sadly agree with you. I live in the heart of Hollywood because my job was in Weho and it wasn’t a pleasant experience. WHEREVER that is in Hollywood, lots of crime, dirty, expensive, in short overrated and overpriced. I got out of there as soon as I could.
As a person coming to visit, I found some good information from this between the 2 cities that I have heard. I'd love to hear more about transportation to and from airport, universal studios and other tourist venues, to downtown LA and other nice areas to visit without a car.
Very underrated video nice work 👏
appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
@@darrenkrizlosangeles thanks for replying
He has described everything to a tee
Thanks for the vid! Moving there in a month, any tips on the crime?
shoot me an email, happy to help! Some specific areas to avoid, some are great!
I’m a Native American bisexual cross dresser and I live in West Hollywood. I dress daily and people accept me so I love West Hollywood and Hollywood…❤always praying 🙏
Hey sexy
I would live to see some of the affordable homes and the actual different areas where people live, instead of the Instagram lifestyle projections.
What should I do as a tourist? Coming for a week.
go to Beverly Hills and Santa Monica!
I feel like West Hollywood has the flair of a casual residential area, that could be in any town or city, but in the heart of LA. The neighbourhoods and houses seem very casual, despite paying 3-5 million dollars for a relative simple family home that would cost you 100.000 somewhere else. 😅 But hey, you're surrounded by LA. Maybe that's just what you want and what is hard to find in that area, casuality. Feels safe, walkable and liveable.
yes that's the great part about living in WeHo. There are several pockets that feel like casual residential neighborhoods but you'll also be walking distance to main streets with tons of restaurants. Best of both worlds!
@@darrenkrizlosangeles Right. And you can leave the house without your car and you're able to buy some groceries within a few minutes walking distance.
Is Hollywood a city
ghetto and less ghetto is how i would describe the two
You must not live nearby.
I just moved from one of the least ghetto cities in the world, Scottsdale, Arizona and with my super sheltered lens I can tell you there is nothing ghetto about West Hollywood
Sunset, Doheny, Santa Monica to La Cienega, peaceful large homes, safe walkable restaurants
Hollywood > west hollywood
Gay/not gay
Insanely cheap in both. Try a one bedroom in Rose Bay, Sydney....you'll be looking at 3-4 million for a one bedroom apartment. California is just so cheap it's crazy.
