    • @zwoope
      @zwoope Před 10 lety

      Xellos357 Roll with it and do not freeze up. After you have taken it cover, move, and counter out. A lot of guys chase, so learn to throw a right with a back step and check hooks and uppercuts. You'll be knockin' fools out in no time.

    • @Xellos357
      @Xellos357 Před 10 lety

    • @zwoope
      @zwoope Před 10 lety

      Xellos357 When you get good at it you can take one stand in and dip under and give a solid counter at an angle or flip them into the corner. People don't like him, but, James Toney is a really good example of this. As well as Pac in the Rios fight.

  • @josecalderon9487
    @josecalderon9487 Před 10 lety

    I can see how the full pivot turn can generate more power but wouldn't that compromise your defenses? This probably would work best when your opponent is already wobbled or in a full defensive guard and you'll have that extra second for the longer wind-up.

  • @f4ust85
    @f4ust85 Před 9 lety +6

    I am sorry but this sounds like an equivalent of saying that instead of doing proper muay thai roundkicks that chop through the target and basically aim way behind it, its actually better to do karate-style snappy kicks that just whip there and back lightly and bouce off the target lightly, so that you dont "lose all that momentum". Isnt it the very point of striking to actually "waste" a shitload of energy onto someones skull or body? I understand its much more comfortable to train like that on a bag but thats all.

    Where's the "we need more power!" guy? You needed at least a voiceover from him for this! But, yes, I will try this tip you've given. I'm guilty of really laying my hook in as hard as I can, but then again I'm using it for exercise, so I don't mind the extra energy. I think the way you do it here packs all the whallop a punch needs; it definitely seems like plenty! I go to class in an hour; I'll work on it...and maybe it'll speed up my combinations.... thanks a lot, Trav!

    Can you tell me why my wrists hurt when I would punch on a bag like you do and when I punch people I don't seem to have that problem that I'm hurting myself, I even punched a metal door once that took the skin off my nockels and left a couple dents from my nockels on the metal plated door but that was when I lost control of my emotions so I couldn't feel any pain whatsoever at the time but it was so brutal I can't forget that moment.
    I do have martial arts experience in Taekwondo and that's a lot of leg work not punching a bag with a lot of weight in it, I mean it's pretty heavy... What am I doing wrong?
