There's a manga called pokemon adventures where it's a story about each protag from every region having their own adventures and story for each region, now from johto, our protag gold, has a very similar togepi like eggnog, very rebellious, though in the end he finally becomes able to accept gold as his trainer

I'm not 100% sure how big the pool for metronome is, but I was under the impression it's every single move with equal odds. Double tbolt is...unlikely to say the least.

I used to watch a lot of PIMPNITE and other pokétubers back in the day, and I can tell that hitting the same move several times in one battle happens way too often for it to be natural.
As far as I can tell, at the start of each battle, Metronome randomly selects a small number of moves it can turn into. While the *total* pool is hundreds of moves, the *actual* pool for any given battle is probably more like a dozen or so. Maybe randomly selecting between any move that exists any time Metronome is used was too much in terms of processing power
@@astuteanansi4935 that sounds like a good optimisation, which is why I doubt that's the case, this is Gamefreak after all. Sun and moon having 5 fps in parts really stuck with me...
@@astuteanansi4935 the processing power between selecting from a list of twelve vs 100 should be similar. Perhaps it's the memory they were concerned about or the size of the counter. It could also be that they decided that it was better for gameplay if they selected from a smaller list.

As of 2020's movepool and it being unchanged as far as I know atm there's 844 moves in the game. 63 moves being unselectable and some being unavailable/deleted, this reduces the number to 618 selectable moves. 1/(618^²) = odds of *1/381,924. This is without considering the fact that Hidden Power is back in the game but Im unsure if it's reselectable in Metronome yet again, were it that way it'd increase to 1/383,161*

Theory's calc is right here, but it's not really what we should be looking for, as the chance of getting any given two moves is also equal to that calc. What we really want is probably to find the chance of hitting the same move twice, which can happen in exactly 618 ways, so we multiply that result by 618 to get 618/381924=1/618, which makes sense since it didn't matter what the first move was, just that the 2nd was the same as the first.
@@andrewchen9775 yeah, it'd be 1 in 380000+ if Ina specifically called out "Don't use thunderbolt!" before selecting metronome... though, if you really want to be more precise with "what are the odds of getting *two useless moves* in a row?" it's not just as simple as saying the first roll doesn't matter, you could reduce that number to only selecting one of the possible electric-type moves from the set (I have no idea what this number actually is), and then multiplying that number by 1/618 to get the odds of first picking an inaffective move and then getting the exact same move a second time... but we can objectively say Ina's odds of that happening were somewhere between 1/600ish and 1/380000ish!

Google "Pokemon Metronome". That skill is a gacha skill so Ina has no control over what it use.
It's actually the Ground type that makes Onix immune to Electric moves. Rock itself takes neutral damage from Electric moves.
