At 3,726 meters (12,224 feet), Mount Rinjani is the second-highest volcano in Indonesia. It is located in the Regency of North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Next to the volcano is a crater lake known as Segara Anak (or Anak Laut, meaning “Child of the Sea”). Both the lake and the mountain hold great significance for the Sasak people. The Mount Rinjani Caldera is part of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network.
