- Gabriele Seyfert's Free Skate at the 1968 Olympics. Having finished 2nd in the compulsories, she also finished 2nd in the free skate. She therefore finished 2nd overall, thereby taking the silver medal.

I give a perfect 6.0 for the hair too ! Those wonderful bouffant styles were the rage in thst era - Peggy Fleming and a number of the other ladies at this event styled their hair this way.
На ОИ в Гренобле Габи стала второй. А золото завоевала американка Пегги Флеминг. Бронза досталась чешке Хане Машковой. Последняя, кстати, моя любимая фигуристка

Some of the marks are still a joke to me & the fact that she didn’t win doesn’t help it. That entry into that double axel was LIT, most of today’s skaters couldn’t do it. She was the queen!!!! My mother was named after her.

She was good but Peggy was more elegant and I loved Peggy's many jumps.
В ГДР всегда были отличные фигуристы, а сейчас нет, очень странно, Алена Савченко не в счет, она в СССР обучалась азам катания
С головой не дружите - Савченко родилась в 1984 году в г. Обухов Украина! Какие азы фигурного катания СССР она с Украины уехала в Германию! Везде свое вонючие СссР приплетаете

While I might question and fault her music/editing, she by FAR outskated Peggy, easily this night
Wrong, she skated like a fullback on skates. Weak presentation and line. Peggy wasnt as good technically, THAT NIGHT, but was a much better skater overall

@@Dagmar-St She was a great skater but Peggy was so graceful and elegant and presented her program expertly. Peggy floated over the ice while Gaby was more just power with no style or presentation. Peggy really deserved the Gold
Although I have a soft spot for Sarasate's Zigeunerweise , that music (editing) was just plain bizarro! This girl gets some air though … wow! She definitely had a unique style or lack there of, but I like her. Definitely not my preferred style of skater but I think because she really could skate I find her appealing!

Quite nice jumps. But her presentation and style was light-years behind that of Peggy Fleming.

Matt, Peggy Fleming exuded femininity and grace, but was far from enthralling. The finale to her skate was rushed and anticlimactic. It was far from exceptional. Stop exaggerating!
One has to remember during this period thin was in. Twiggy's look was it. Perception of what we consider beautiful changes. Just eight years later here comes Dorothy, whose figure is typical for a healthy 19 year old who is blessed with beauty & world class skating skills. Thin was less in & by today's standards both Dorothy & Gabby would be considered beautiful. Peggy had it all & earned a reputation which preceeded her. Three time World Champion & five time Nationals Ladies whose coach, Carlo Fassi, taught her well & whose presence lent an aura to her. Combine this w/a ballerina on ice & Jacqueline Kennedy look & an United States Ladies Gold Medalist is born. The right person won.
Gabby was an exciting, athletic skater but not one whose style was particularly refined, elegant, or musical. Peggy, on the other hand, was not only one of the finest and most artistic stylists in the history of the sport, but an exacting technician whose attention to detail was remarkable. Grenoble was not her finest free skate (as she has publicly acknowledged many times) but the overall quality of Peggy's skating was still superior to that of her closest competitors. Even if she'd not won the free skate, her overwhelming lead in figures would still have assured Ms. Fleming the well-deserved gold.

There was a Midori-Itoness about this program. The technique was definitely superior to Peggy's on this night. While Peggy was very artistic, I don't know that I would have rewarded the free-skate necessarily to Peggy. Peggy had so many stunning qualities, but with the numerous flubs and omissions of planned content, I think I would have placed her 2nd in the free-skate.

Когда-то это было интересно. Всех чемпионов (и не только) знали по именам. Сейчас - скучно. Конвейер Тутберидзе крайне однообразен и неинтересен, несмотря на обилие весьма рискованных и в общем-то бессмысленных трюков.
Зря вы так. Женя Медведева очень артистичная и обаятельная была фигуристка. Камилла Валиева это вообще что-то фантастическое. Очень жаль, что карьера ее, видимо, закончится. Ну а если не от Тутберидзе, то чем вас Лиза Туктамышева не устраивает в плане артистизма? Ну а по уровню сложности прошлые и нынешние это вообще небо и земля.
Это просто пришёл старческий маразм, и всё вам стало неинтересно.
Катается технично, но тяжеловато, даже местами неуклюже. С Пегги не сравнить, Флеминг на голову выше Габи.
Заколебали вы уже любители анорексии и юных девочек, педофилы больные! Тогда выступали именно женщины, а сейчас лишь бы одних детей пихать в спорт!
Пегги это балет на льду не более, крутки совсем нет, чем она выше на голову Габи, если только ростом?
