For some reason, I imagined Avery just barging in like, "Oi! Ya guys talkin' 'bout'cha hosts and ya feelings for 'em? Well lemme tell ya-" And he goes on a rant simping for Peacock like "Oh, I just love da baws. She's such a great leader and so admirable." while Leviathan and Samson fall back asleep and it takes Avery an hour to notice.
The fact it'd take *an hour* feels so appropriate.

Characters that are undead or in between like Squigly & Marie, don't necessarily "sleep" but are merely in a concentrated state of limbo. It's as close to sleep as they can get. -MP

Squigly is technically 28 despite her physical age of being 14, though there is merit in the argument that it still isn't the same, since she is still the same age as she died. For Filia, she is 16 which for certain countries is considered an adult. However, the big thing in the context of the story is that their relationship with their respective parasites isn't supposed to be a normal one and that their feelings for each other stems from the fact that both Filia and Squigly have no one else, neither friends or family due to the fact they have been either killed or have disappeared entirely from their lives (Filia also having amnesia), with the only companionship being from their parasites themselves which for these ones specifically, are stuck to them and if they are removed, both can potentially die as a result (Or in Squigly's case become a mindless minion of The Skullgirl.) Also, both Samson & Leviathan are respectful of their hosts too and aren't looking to take advantage of them in any way. The affection they have is pure since the only thing they have is each other. -MP

….yeah….I already know that stuff…If they admit their love like if they were family to each other, great. Lev has been around for god knows how long and to see that he would be THIS affectionate to her would be….uuummm…twilight breaking dawn-ish. With that whole Jacob imprinting thing which I know for a fact that I dont think that’s how that works but it’s just….eeewww. That still stands though, Lev is like a third parent to Squigly, a teacher as well. It makes more sense that they are family with each other. Nothing further that way. For Filia and Samson, sht, Samson is about as old as Lev and a similar relationship can be said about them too. Despite not being family with Samson being so old and Filia 16, it’s still…..eewwy. I’m just saying it seems very odd and a little off the way they would go this direction
Rest assured, it won't stay like that. In the context of the story, you need to understand it from their perspective with the fact that Filia especially is still a teenager and she would obviously look for comfort of some kind along with Squigly too. This is a bit spoilerish for the series but eventually, their relationship will grow out from that and it will develop into the mentor figure for both of them. -MP
I figured that as much. I was just saying. That would be much more impactive, sweet, and mature for these characters. I wish on the other end that more good does happen to them. I saw an independent project called skulldate that got abandoned with the cerebella demo that was so good that I hated it when it stopped and a full complete route of Squigly. The creator of that route is long disappeared never to be heard or seen again and Magma442 created the Cerebella route but due to a complication with an artist, they had a falling out and the project was cancelled and abandoned
Other than that, check it out, I love how it was written for the time and it’s sweet to get to know squigly more and more. It’s really well done, check it out. I wish i got to see more of that out there
