  • Welcome back to my channel! In this video, I discuss my undergraduate years and how I went from being a pre-dental student to a pre-pa student. I even ended up applying to dental school, taking the DAT and shadowing several dentists. I also discuss the reason why I decided to pursue the PA career rather than dentistry.
Here is the SHPEP link, that I discussed in the video. I highly recommend this summer program, its for undergraduate freshman and sophomore students who are interested in the healthcare field, whether its dentistry, or any career in the medical field. The program is completely FREE you just have to apply.

I enjoyed medicine more than dentistry. Also the amount of loans I was going to be in debt was not appealing to me, vs PA school.

Ahmareen Hussain I like the lateral mobility in the PA profession where I can change speciality if I get bored + flexibility and good work life balance. The pa I worked with only worked part time and still made well over 6 figures.

    Hello!
I graduated from UTRGV this May and I got into dental school my first try. I started 2 weeks ago but I withdrew from the program because it just wasn't for me. I have always been interested in PA school and want to pursue it. What does UTRGV look for??? I do have a high GPA and I scribed for many months, but I think I need direct-patient encounters, correct? I would like to discuss it more thoroughly with you, if that's okay with you??

Yes you need direct PCE, volunteer hours as many hours as you can get. Ensure you work close with your community especially in The Valley.
High GPA is also a plus!

@@EstefanyVPA What do you recommend as direct PCE?? It's going to be tough looking for a job in that area without some sort of certification

for PA don’t you have to have a bachelors degree before becoming a PA? I’ve been doing so much research but i’m genuinely just so lost🥲
