There is a key difference between the "My lady" and "m'lady".
One is a romantic knight, bound by honor and chivalry in a fantasy setting that, if i'm being honest, by today's standards would be considered overbearing and kind of creepy, but in the context of fairy tales is simply beautiful and says a lot about the type of character they are.

All these voices being absolutely perfect prove how it would actually be pretty easy to give Link a voice. The community already agrees on the personality types of each individual Link so it's not like the self insert is as prominent anymore.
I would argue that botw link would require a british accent, just like zelda. (Im aware 80% of the cast is american but still)

Make it diverse with the male lead who's the protag with the 'Merican accent and the female lead havin' that British accent, like programs with that variety. I meant American when I said 'Merican (the slang) in case you was wonderin'. So yeah. 'Merican accent fer BotW Link 'cuz it fits with his common birth. I'd go with ALL Links and most Zeldas havin' the North American accent, but BotW Zelda's an exception 'cuz the British accent just matches her royalty in a way that's accurate. The Link who's the Hero of the Wild. He's the commoner that his Zelda fell in love with. It's confirmed by Kass. He got his wish when he stopped Calamity Ganon, rescued Zelda again after 100 years, reunited with her, an' saw her smile again.
