I have had the AOSU so far it works great. I especially like that there is no monthly fee and I'm able to see the footage at least 200 miles away that is the farthest that I've driven so far. So far I like it.
Like you I have gone from the Eufy to Aosu because I was getting fed up with Eufy downing when there was a break in broadband or even the rare power outage. My other Aosu cams all re connect with no problem but the Eufy needs a total reboot and this is especially annoying as I have boxed the doorbell into a anti theft case. The alert lag on the Eufy can also be dreadful, up to an hour in some cases. I am very happy with Aosu and will be replacing all my Eufy with them soon. Very good video and so relaxing to watch.... no "Waddup" shouting so thanks a lot.
Awesome! Indeed Eufy seems to have been struggling lately probably because in the past their video stream was never end to end encrypted, which means if a hacker was to intercept the video footage somehow, they would have full access to what's going on or around your home. These security flaws were addressed only recently meaning for a majority of their devices that's probably led to higher computation on the same old hardware and therefore sluggish or sub par performance. That is in theory some explanation, but there could be more, only time would tell.
AOSU on the other hand have always supported end to end encryption so that means that only you would get to see your footage through your phone app once you've logged in with your account credentials.
Anyway, going to technical on this topic 😄 Bottomline is AOSU products are currently a sensible choice 😎

1. I see the cameras have both wiring installation or battery but, will the wired install charge the battery without having to remove the battery to be used in the event of a power failure?
2. I see there is video memory for storage on the provided wireless hub that comes with it, but is there at least temporary video storage on board the actual camera in the event of a wireless connection failure/jaming?
3. what FPS is it (frames per second)?
4. if I were to transfer the video to my computer is the video easy to view or is it in a special codec that requires proprietary software software.

Thank you for the interesting questions. Here's the answers:
1. Yes indeed, the battery will stay charged while the camera is mains powered. In the event of a power failure, the battery will indeed take over and provide the necessary cover. This has been tested by us and is a standard operating procedure with almost all dual power doorbell systems
2. The doorbell is not equipped with any storage and needs to interact with it's homebase. This is a deliberate measure to ensure footage from thefts or similar occurrences do get recorded at a safe place. This was also to ensure if someone pulled out the doorbell and ran away with it, you'd still have a video footage to investigate the matter. Other security cameras are normally installed at a height that isn't normally accessible therefore the doorbell needs that added level of security.
3. FPS is indeed frames per second. Essentially, it measures how many full-screen, still images are captured or displayed within one second of video recording or playback. Practically, as soon as you go over 12 still images per second the human brain would perceive them as connected i.e. in the form of a video. For instance, early video recordings were shot and displayed at 24 FPS, while modern streaming services often use 60 FPS. Hope that helps explain 😊
4. Videos can be fetched directly from the AOSU app and would be in .mp4 file format which is a standard video file format and useable/accessible easily.

I figured I should let you know before your response i had also contacted aosu itself via email and found some information that you may regard as important. in regard to one of my original questions (number 2) a secondary question came up that i asked Aosu. this was if in the event that the aosu ultra doorbell camera is stolen or broke/destroyed and no longer in signal contact with the base is the video still accessible? he answer unfortunately was no meaning if the camera itself was stolen or broken you would not be able to retrieve video on the homebase device. this problem which the eufy e340 door bell camera supposedly also has (according to another youtube video)means it does not matter the video is being stored off the camera as once the cameras are gone or broken the video can no long be retrieved.
I would me interested it you were actually to test this to see if Aosu's email to me is correct it regard to the ultra doorbell as well as the other youtube video I have seen about eufy e340 door bell camera.

p.s. inregard to my question about FPS; I was askingwhat was the actual fps quality not what fps means. I have found it is supposedly 15fps
@@fusionchef1 @fusionchef1 Ah, interesting! In our testing we were able be retrieve video footage even when the doorbell was not connected or powered off. On the AOSU app, you'll find your stored footage in 'Events'. Just to make sure this was not an irrational response we have just tested this and it works flawlessly. The condition of course is that you should be in possession of the AOSU Homebase and have access to it through a previously connected doorbell. That is question #2 answered.
In regard to the fps question, it could be 15 fps but in our experience it was slightly smoother, so we'd say it's higher than 15fps. Typically there are security cams that range from 15fps to 30fps. The higher fps is mostly seen on lan connected cameras such as POE security cams. We made one such video recently about Paxvigo ES810 PoE bullet security camera and are in the process of publishing another higher end 4K model soon.
So in case the interest is a higher fps, you'd most certainly have to invest in an 'ethernet connected' security camera. Let us know if you have any further questions, more than happy to help 😊
@@MyNextBest hmm it is possible that thecompany rep i spoke with got it wrong in regard to the stored video. It would not be the first time that i have spoken to a rep of company's product and found that they were ill informed.
Does it still record and send you notification without wifi connection?
@@deandrekellerman3360 Hiya 👋 All smart security cameras that are not physically connected (i.e. via an Ethernet cable) would require WiFi connection to send notifications out. The way it works is the app typically installed on smartphone would securely connect to the backend systems of the camera brand you’re using and those backend systems would act as the mediator of the security events picked up by the security cameras and a notification or even the live footage being received on your phone through the app. It’s all so fast that you don’t realise all these hops of comms that actually take place in serving up your camera’s footage!
The existing range of all the major security cameras (such as AOSU for example) incorporate end to end encryption therefore the notifications, or live footage would only be decrypted and become accessible on the user’s phone app.

Must also add there are 4G LTE Smart security cameras as well that our friends at ieGeek have brought to our attention and are kindly going to send us soon for a review. Can I use different brands of security cameras like Eufy and Blink at the same time under the same home wifi? Thanks!
Hey, thanks for the question. Of course you can, it's actually a very good strategy to have different brands and not get locked in to just a single brand. There may be a situation when one brand might have their services down but they wouldn't impact your other security camera from the other brand.
The only downside of this strategy is that if you end up having multiple such products from multiple brands, you'd have to create accounts with each of them and are likely to have multiple apps in your phone.
On the contrary, given they all integrate with Smart Home you'd still be able to access them from one single smart home ecosystem such as Alexa or Google Home.
Btw AOSU are a brilliant brand and their camera quality is way better than Eufy or Blink (for now). We've started reviewing their Solar Cam D1 3K wireless securiry camera (video releasing soon), and we're already amazed at the camera quality! 🤩
