  • Whenever I'm at the field training I tend to see a pair of these gloves. The introductory gloves you might find at a typical sports store or sports section at your local walmart and most people wearing these gloves don't know that they can get gloves just as good as the professionals sometimes for the same price or just a few dollars more than what the paid for these intro gloves.

    This is the problem with cheap gloves
    Not strong enough Hurts hands easily
    Not good enough on rainy days never good grip and when I was diving at a ball I had an easy save with a catch but it slipped
    And they wont last a season

    I have the Nike Match. I'm not a traditional keeper but I could be decent at it if I focused on it more. But it's a bit late. I'm 14 and play in the highest division in my state as a centerback.

    • @superstar1222222
      @superstar1222222 Před 7 lety +3

      Hi there! Coach from norway here. Glove maintenance is pretty simple, keep them moist! If your son plays on a grass field, make sure to wash of the dirt atleast once a week, if on a Artificial turf then you can wash them once every second week or so. Dont let gloves dry out, the latex will be durable longer if moist. Also avoid drying the gloves in direct sunlight or any heat generating sources :)

    Hey guys, 3.5 years ago i got my first cheap gloves when i was 14 years old, our team really trained hard of course, my goalkeeper skill is really good, so even if i had this gloves i was still able to save high to low shots, but you will come into a problem with cheap gloves, when ever you are facing strikers who kick the ball really hard, with the really thin gloves you will suffer pain in your hands through the shock on the shot, it does hurt quite a bunch, so definitely i suggest high quality gloves, especially this gloves tear easily as stated in this awesome video

    Since I play in goal for the boys football team(not the picture of the person on this profile) I use Nike goal keeper gloves and I wear like winter gloves underneath which gives me better grip and I don't feel any pain because I saw in a ad a pro keeper in the premier league they wear like hand wraps and layers of stuff so I got gloves underneath them and they also make them more comfortable

It also has plastic pads in the glove which imo decreases the chance of injury and gives me better grip. They also work very well for high diving saves so I would advise you to get them.

    There’s plenty of good cheap independent companies that make gloves. I used to get bespoke gloves made for me that were negative cut fingersaves. That only cost £40. Don’t waste your money on top of the range brands, who’s grip lasts just as long as some of the cheaper brands.

    For people who are looking for cheap but good quality gloves, i seriously recommend BRAVE SPORTS to them. They provide high quality gloves which professionals use at affordable prices, and they provide worldwide shipping too! I've been using BRAVE SPORTS Asura for over a year now, it is both my training and match gloves, although they're are some wear and tears as well as decrease in grip, they're still able to perform well, especially when we're talking about a pair of gloves that's been used for so long, and durability wise it is much more durable than big brand names like ADIDAS, NIKE etc. where the gloves are made to perform well in just a few matches, and not so much on durability wise. I used to use a pair of ADIDAS Fingersave Allround and not only did they cost more than the BRAVE SPORTS Asura, they went down on performance and tore pretty easily.

    Personnaly I think it depends, I live in Kenya. Some people cant afford nice expensive gloves especially because of the high tax. I think that I could do well with these cheap gloves for maybe only for training( in 12 so it doesn't matter that much) also younger players don't need expensive gloves, because they don't really play tough. Like under 11 under 9 e.t.c
    I'm in under 13 and the cheaper gloves did well. This is only for when your playing under 17 or under 19 you need better gloves

      Every glove feels different when used, so when you use a cheap glove for training and then a different one for your matches - your more expensive ones - then you'll fine that it takes time to adjust. Also, if you don't play well in training with your cheap gloves, you might not even get picked to play ! You should treat each training session with the same respect as a match. It's best to have at least two pairs of gloves, of the same make and model, one to train and the other to play. One the training ones wear low, buy a new pair for match day and use your old match day ones for training.

    This is really weird, and no one I've known but me has done this, but I use what is specifically used for football gloves. They grip a lot easier, and I can see the downsides to them, but I have never been comfortable in the bulky keeper gloves. No coach or ref has said anything to me about using them, but do you know if there's any rule or problem in using them in any upper lever soccer.

    Can u make a video on what to tell ur teammates in games. My coach tells me to talk but I don't know what to say. I want to have a strong character if u make a video on that. That'd be so awesome and helpful for us who don't know what type of things to say in a match

    Hey, I'm a young Irish goalkeeper playing at a VERY high level, I play an irish sport called Gaelic Football ( The pitch is bigger, its a lot more physical, It has 15 players on each team and you're allowed to touch the ball with your hand no matter what position you play) its like a mixture of Soccer, Basketball and American football, check it out its really cool, anyway I need a good quality glove with fingersave, because the ball is a lot harder and heavier than a soccer ball and usually shots are from very close range, it needs to have decent durability. I've previously used the Ace Zones Fingersave and currently using the Puma EvoPower Protect 1.3, theyre both great but I havn't found a glove yet that totally satisfies me, any suggestions PLEASE HELP

    So I broke my thumb playin goalie 6 weeks ago, and I have my first game back in goal this Sunday. But when I did training tonight, I was always scared to go in and take the ball from a strikers foot which has never been a huge problem before. How do I combat this?

    • @evs361
      @evs361 Před 7 lety

      6 weeks is pretty quick recovery time for a broken thumb, since this should also include strengthening work before you start to play and train again. I suggest that you train very lightly to begin with, with easy catches until you feel comfortable that you are fully recovered

    You set your hands way too low. They should be set around the waist area, shoulder width apart. Hanging them as low as you do gives you a disadvantage when going for high shots as it takes longer to get them up than if they were set properly.
