Total failure as in, failure of both lines? Then yes, of course...That's the nature of the 2 rope system. If one fails you're good, if two fail...well. But if you're referring to the way the ASAP is positioned inverted in the anchor then no...When the load begins to fall, the rope will pull through in the correct way and the ASAP will engage. It's bizarro world up there...up is down and down is up. Hope that makes sense. If you've got an ASAP give it a try attached to an anchor and pull down on that rope.
Check the 7:00, min mark.... It's pre-installed early, we made a point of saying "kind of thinking ahead here, but just so I don't forget it later." Also I think your CAPS LOCK BUTTON IS STUCK.
@@Pacificropes Do you need a friction carabiner since the Rig is only seeing the weight of one person? (Not a two person load, and well within the capacity of the Rig)
@@arsenkasparian Good question! In this case we're not so much worried about the over loading of the rig per se, it's more in operating the rope over the rolled edge. The technical specifications state that even for a single person load, both the I'D and the Rig require a friction karabiner in an inverted situation. (Similar reason why we re-direct the line coming out of the ASAP as well, it just operates better)
