  • Hey everybody welcome back to another episode of Muddy Reviews, in this video we are checking out the Shaw Concepts RAM AK insert for AK series rifles and their magazines. This is an absolute must IMHO for all of my AK guys out there be it Airsoft or "Real Steel".
    I picked this RAM Insert up from my homies over at Off Base Supply CO. and you can find it here:
    offbase.co/pro...
    you can also get these directly from Shaw Concepts at their Website here:
    shaw-concepts....
    The RAM insert is a really solid piece of kit with outside-the-box design elements. They took on the traditional Kangaroo insert and really brought a tried and true design into the future. Especially in the case of the AK. The addition of the Tegris stirrups at the bottom of the pouch to allow for the AK magazines lugs make it possible to run the kangaroo in a standard plate carrier front flap and comfortably run AK magazines.
    I have other products that do allow me to do this as well but none of them are purpose-built for this like the Shaw RAM insert. Since the filming of this review, the RAM was used in a game by a friend and he gave it a GO (in the Military we often have what are known as GO / NO GO criteria for passing inspections, combat checks, and evolutions) so the RAM insert is going to be a mainstay in the kit line up.
    I hope this video and review was useful for you AK lovers out there and may have brought your attention to a product you may not have been aware of but needed in your life. As always folks get out there and play some Airsoft, LARP smarter, Not harder, and above all else, Take care!

    I like their stuff. Just got their V3 with the 4 mag insert. I will see how it works another time though

      I was looking at that as well, I will for sure be getting their Dangler by the end of summer. That is a pretty nice design.

      @@Muddy_Reviews Pretty much as I played more with my set up I realized I wanted a 4 mag front. It allows for one more mag pouch on my side for the rest of the combat load then whatever else I need. Platattack or whatever that company is makes a 4 mag panel to but its without inserts. The same price but might be a little slicker by a few mils.

      @@Muddy_Reviews no danglers for me right now. I dont like the aesthetic and the fact I have to reach around my mags in front. I will try one at some point. I love the idea of Kevlar in it though... like the old days

      @Iron Teacup Platatac makes some really nice kit and as much as I love their stuff I think you made a good choice with the Shaw.

      @Iron Teacup YES! That's exactly what kind of drew me to it. I have come to really like the utility of a Dangler and I think Shaw is on to something by adding cock flap armor to it. Just like the "good old days" of the GWOT. I say that as if I didn't absolutely hate wearing the armor up kit LOL. Throat, collar, groin..it was a pain when you had to piss.

    Will it work with AR mags as well? DO you think you can double stack the insert in the DOPE and hold 6 AK mags?

    • @Muddy_Reviews
      @Muddy_Reviews  Před 2 měsíci

      @nicklosito1163 theoretically yes, the RAM will hold AR mags as well. I can tell you the repro DOPE flap is a slightly tighter fit with the AK RAM. But these things are fantastic.

      Their stuff is pretty rad, I have their ARC V2 shoulder pads and will be reviewing those in the near future.

    Can't find any where for the eagle indastries zipper adapter will work with looks like raptor tactical might but not sure should I just go and spend the money for like cry or another one to get more universal one or what do u think?

    • @Muddy_Reviews
      @Muddy_Reviews  Před rokem +1

      Personally, if I was going to invest in a Zip adapter set, it would be either Crye or Ferro compatible. You will have a wider option of panels for your use, and more likely, product ls will be created for that zipper pattern. I love Eagle, but there isn't much in the way if Zipper panels and packs for them.

    • @Muddy_Reviews
      @Muddy_Reviews  Před rokem

      They do, I have actually tried 2 different IDOGEAR panels and both were good to go.
