    As a mostly lure fisherman for smallmouth, largemouth, hybrid stripers, etc., these carp fishing tutorials really help with the finer details of carp fishing. The carp are I’d say “more willing” to bite in America as there are loads of them, but I fish in mainly very clear water so these videos have helped a ton and inspired me to fish for carp! Thanks a ton mates, keep up the great work.

      Whats it like fishing for bass? Always wanted to try it but I live in the UK

    • @nathanmaynard131
      @nathanmaynard131 Před 2 lety

      @@TheShortShifter my absolute favorite thing to do is wade streams for smallmouth bass. It’s either throwing topwater lures at sun up/down, casting to cover and getting blown up as the lure drops, or burning back paddle tails and getting smacked. They are just so aggressive and fight so hard. Makes it the most fun in streams where you can see the entire fight take place, and you’ll get up to 5-6 jumps sometimes, occasionally right next to you. It’s a really connected way of fishing in my opinion. Scoop em up in the net, take a picture if they are big, and watch em swim away back to their home.
      I’ve got a short video on my channel catching a 5 lbs largemouth bass If you’d like to see that. A very good fight and beautiful specimen.

    Hey C&A. So firstly, because of you guys, I've taken up fishing in the last year and a bit. I suffer from crippling anxiety from time to time and fishing seems to really help me, so because of you guys and both this tutorial channel and your other channel, I'm able to give myself some 'me' time and actually feel relaxed! So thanks!
    Anyway, I have a question for you. I've seen a good few people on various forums and Facebook groups saying that a coated braid hooklink is better than any other hooklink for night fishing. I can't see how/why this would be the case and was hoping to ou could shed some light on the matter for me?! Cheers.

    I half expected you to say: "Also, if you've ever waded out into a lake and put your hands in the water and felt the temperature, you'd know it if there was a hungry pike." My mind works in mysterious ways sometimes. Maybe because my grandpa recently retold the story of how he managed to get his hands shredded by a pike when he was washing them in the margins. He also managed to grab the pike and turn it into dinner.

    Nice video, very informative and well made. The reason why braid is not allowed as main line in lakes is because it can hurt the fish, acting like a razor cutting through the flesh of the fish. I even break the hook barb to protect the fish, making sure the hook is easy to pull off and hurts the fish as little as possible. This way if your line breaks, the hook will fall off more easily. You might loose more fish this way but their safety comes first I think. I’ve caught a few fish with a full rig in their mouth. They didn’t thank me but they must have felt great being free.

    Lost two to snags in two days. Really need to work on my fishing stewardship... I don't like when I feel as if I've not done well for the fish. Went swimming to Un snag from an underwater branch and the fish was still on about 4minutes later. Broke me off after I got it unsnagged because my braid frayed. Some armor leader would have probably made that difference.

    Hi there Carl and Alex. I am a new subscriber and first of all i really want to say that i love youre videos. They are very easy going and exciting to watch. I do have a question about this video. Why dont you use rear banksticks to grip youre rods and point the top of the rod more down towards the water. It seems to me that the wind can easily catch youre main line and give false alarms. Usually i sink my line to prevent the wind from catching it. I am curious about youre opinion about that? greetings from the netherlands

    HAHA - having the rod pulled into the lake - happened to me LOL! Was fishing with a feeder at a close range, and must have knocked the clutch accidentally and didn't notice. Next thing I know - my mate is asking to borrow a landing net (his snapped earlier (the handle broke off )), I literally stood up from my chair, looked at my net, then noticed the rod catapulting like a freaking rocket into the lake and swimming away... :FACEPALM: We did have a good laugh about that though.
