Hey James!! I’ll always watch right until the end, or pause and come back lol it was a good one, on so many levels.
Being open has been key for me as well, not only with my TBI but with life in general. Sometimes it’s hard and it’s even harder to find ppl who understand. We can find ppl along the way who will try to understand and work with us and that as you know, is important and so meaningful.
You’re videos have been a piece of my big recovery puzzle. You said that you may help maybe 100 ppl, but I wanted to mention that out of those 100 ppl, how many of those ppl used what they have learned to help or educate others? It could even trickle down further than that and maybe even some future ppl who find themselves or one of their family or friends with a TBI or other illness. The magnitude of how you impacted others is yet to be seen and can’t not be measured 🙂
So happy to hear that you have availed to more counselling. I have spoke to many who have helped me and the more options you tell ppl they have the more they will use it.
The same with going to the Doc when you are in an emergency situation of self harming yourself and requesting an emergency appointment. That’s amazing it is an option and amazing you put that out there for others. I’m not sure if they have that in the province of NL which is where I live in Canada. They do however have a hospital dedicated to mental health. I did use the emergency department once back when my TBI wasn’t as well managed as it is now. It’s the best thing I ever did for my recovery. I seen a resident Doc who worked at a head injury clinic and he told me to start taking Magnesium Citrate, OMEGA 3(I think you are already using that) and Coenzyme Q-10 supplements. it can help with Anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts and so much more. He said to take at least 3 moths worth to see a difference but I could tell very soon after that it help and My mental health started to slowly get back to “normal”. (In quotes bc my new normal post TBI, not my pre injury self normal) not sure if you have researched any of these but might be worth a look. Of course anyone reading this, DO NOT take anything without talking to your Doc or care team, they can interact with some Medications and what works for one might not for another. It is something that has helped me and continues to daily. 🙂
Good to know about the TBI card too, I’ll be looking into that.
Keep them coming when you can, we are watching. 🙂

Will reply once I feel able to, but I have read your entire reply. Thank you. It was encouraging, enlightening and interesting. You make such good points. I was out with a friend last night, and she essentially agrees with your perspective, and it is true: Good things multiply outwards.
I will look into those supplements (but I have been taking Omega 3 and DHA each day since my TBI'S, as you remembered.) That's a good reminder though, and I will verify with a doctor, as I'm on medication still much of the time etc.
I'm going to keep making these videos. I think it will just return to once a month for the most part. You've helped encourage me though, as well as given me a clarity of perspective, so thank you for that 😊

James Inkson Stevens you are very welcome, anytime. It really means a lot that I have helped you, like you have me. That’s what this is all about. I started watching your videos and others with TBIs for support and information. It’s great that you put it out there and gets to be apart of my recovery puzzle and again I thank you for it.
But what about you? I remember you saying it has been somewhat therapeutic for you to make these videos but when I first reached out I felt you needed to hear from how much you have helped. You had a much different vibe than I seen you have in the past videos. I know that feeling too and I had to let you know or make you more aware of your positive impact you have had on me and others.
I’m also happy to hear your friend has a similar thoughts on the topic, she sounds supportive of you and that’s what matters.
The supplements are interesting and there are a few you have showed that I will look into as well. One more I might mention is Vitamin D. Where I live most ppl are deficient in Vitamin D but I’m not sure what the UK climate is like, might be something to looking into. Also maybe CBD oils or soft gels? It is Legal in CA and I was recently prescribed some and I find it very helpful for a number of things like anxiety, pain, depression, insomnia, and much more.
Another suggestion or question rather. Do you have any pets? The bonds you can make with some pets can be very meaning and uplifting. I’m an animal lover and tend to surround myself with animals more than ppl lol they can be therapeutic for me but of course, they aren’t for anyone. 🙂
You make videos and respond when you can and I’ll watch and support you from here. Always laughing at your jokes and cheering you on!!! Until the next one 😉

I've only just stumbled across this reply! I rarely, if ever get alerts - I always have to find them.
I'd love a dog, but I don't have the energy. Maybe one day. There are certain peaks I still yet need to reach before I could consider having pets etc.
I've been taking 1000 IUs of Vitamin D each day for the past year and 2 or 3 months. It's a part of that neuro focused A-Z. Thanks for the suggestion though :)
Yes, you were definitely one of the people that helped reassure and wake me back up a bit during an especially hard time in my personal, life and health.
I enjoy making the videos a bit more than the impression I give, but they do take an awful lot out of me. But as long as people find my voice encouraging or inspiring on any level - then I'll keep going on, and making these.
I guess during that particularly hard period I was starkly aware - that the thing I get out of making these is that it's a TBI survivor being more than just a survivor. It's a person who has faced a terrible adversity and still refuses to not only never give up.
I am not in the lying down and quitting business. No. I am in the trouncing adversity business. I'm still under heavy fire. I'm still overwhelmingly outnumbered, despite how I seem. Also a lot of my defiance, confidence, resilience and refusal to give in - they are strengths and abilities I've won from previous, terrible adversity.
Adversity seems like it's trying to crush us, but really it's trying to help us, to force us into a corner where becoming a force to be reckoned becomes a real possibility. But it's only possible with persistence, a positive yet ferocious attitude.
Back to that recent time, in short I was wondering - if my voice wasn't really needed or helping, that I could really do with that additional energy. Particularly as I'm always deep into my energy overdraft. If I'm doing good then it's good for me too, and I've seen since that time that it is worth it. Then I was invited on the "A Battle Within" podcast etc.
Just saying all of this to reassure you - there is zero doubt now. Now I know that I have something to give. Now I actually know I'm helping - now I'm all in :) and you definitely played your part there, my friend :)
I promise I'll always reply when I'm able. I just hones3did not see this message.
Have you listened to my guest spot on "A Battle Within"? I'd love to hear any feedback. Maybe just message me on Facebook though. I'm more likely to see the message sooner there :) xx
