Today, my team and I get to work on my neglected 2007 Audi R8 V8, and our plans are to take the 550 horsepower V10 from a 2014 Audi R8 V10 Plus and shoehorn it into the aging sports car. Easy, right? Well, as it turns out, it's way harder than anyone thought. Fingers crossed we can make this work!

I am unsure of why you said that there is no option to code the modules, except for the Audi dealer.
With a Geko account, you can code the module(s) to the gateway thru ODIS Online and resolve component protection.

I'm not a pessimist, I just don't set myself up for disappointment.
I had that doing a clutch once. Fought every step of the way coming apart, including starting to snow and REALLY was not looking forward to rebuild.
Decided to set landmarks in the job and have a break on reassembly. I ended the day feeling utterly baffled that everything was back together, nothing left over and I had a functional car. Lol
My plan for life.
Please remember what you said just before @28:00. Jack and Rex are integral parts of the channel. I fully support them starting their own channels for independence but the three of you are stronger as a unit for now

If there's one EU company (and i say this as an European) i want smacked by EU laws is Audi-o. They put out BS about "stolen this and that" to justify keeping repair rights out of people's hands. Nevermind the fact that between them and BMW, they buy second hand (the upper crust ones) or crashed cars in Europe and crush them.

Yeah ... not overnight work. Maybe if YOU laid on back and spread YOUR legs there would be the progress of the kind you argue for. Mechanical development takes time. And what he is doing takes lots of time. We are sure that ...glasvial and Tjescoo and yeoldmetlhead6592 and tooitchy ... these other people would have finished this all by now. Such is their ability to be miracle workers and such.

I’m assuming that the wiring on that car is proving to be a greater challenge then even they expected. I can’t imagine how unbelievably complex it is to get all of the mclaren computer and electrical functions working on this kind of build. Even without the hybrid system.

It's still getting it's fully custom wiring harness made from scratch as he said in is previous upload about the P1
It takes a lot of time to build an entire hypercar wiring harness from 3 salvage McLaren harnesses
My guess: Next video is waiting for a company willing to pay more than what Worse Help does. ...and since Worse Help is known for being absolute scum, they're likely willing to pay a fair sum for people without a conscience to advertise the brand, so it'll probably take a while..

Used V10 R8 = $140,000 used V-8 body - $40,000 wrecked V-10 car $60,000 real value of man hours $140,000 total project, $80,000 more than just buying a used one. But boy what fun.
you clearly know nothing about rebuilding or the collision repair industry in general. vehicles are totaled out when the price of repairs exceeds the actual cash value of the vehicle before it was totaled. it is genuinely impossible for a R8 to be totaled if it only lost half its value. copart currently has a totaled 2017 R8 V10 for $250.
@@misseselise3864 First, I know allot about this industry, I manage several hundred thousand fleet vehicles. First that was satire. Second, you are incorrect. the calculation is the difference between the salvage value AND repairs versus the vehicle value. If an insurance company can get more off salvage than the repairs versus what they have to settle for, then it's totaled. They don't care about what the veh is worth.
