If you still want to do some web dev on the side; there are also options for that in python. ;) Do what is best for you and your family! Just make sure you like it. If you love what you do; your job becomes your hobby. It'll be fun! :D
That’s also something I’ve been looking at is the web dev portion of python. I have a few books on that I’ve been wanting to get into! I really appreciate your comments! I do feel like I’d love working on networks and stuff like that. Especially helping maintain servers. And more space to grow and even work with scripting within the space as well!
My current job is assistant manager for a convenience store. I’m looking to get into it now. I have a Google cert but that’s not good enough. And I feel like college would be overall a better choice for moving careers
@@gutihimself just make sure that you dont go into debt for something that wont get you a job. And do what interests you the most. There will be many long nights of learning. If you dislike what you're doing it will be very hard
@@JegErN0rsk the school I’m going to go to will give me a good amount of certs that are job ready for stuff in IT plus I’ll have a bachelors in Netwotk engineering and security so it’ll be a good place to start for a career. As well as all those certs. I’ll earn some throughout the degree allowing me to begin applying for lower level IT positions and move up within a company or move company’s when I achieve more certs. I’m only willing to go into debt knowing that it will allow me for many job opportunities. I’ll also learn python scripting within the curriculum which will allow for more opportunities. I really appreciate your comment! I’m still worried but I believe I’m making the right decision in the long run and for my family!
@@JegErN0rsk I am very interested in networking. It’s something I’ve always wanted to learn and even build my own server within my home. I am excited for learning, it’s addicting to me. I’m always looking to grow!
@@gutihimself Don’t put your life on certs. For networking advice; try setting up a home lab, doesn’t have to take much. I don’t know if you’ve already had any experience with networking, if no; just try getting 2 devices to talk to each-other with a ping. It can be simple! :) Anyways to get back to the opener - I’ve worked with someone who literally does not even have a high school diploma. He wasn’t book smart, but very practical and motivated. He recently quit where I worked to work at a government job and helps manage over 300 client networks. I’m not saying you’re /that/ guy, but it really just comes down to experience, and working your way up. For now; just learn. :)
