Death just needs to wait a couple centuries for humans to invent nukes. The magnitude by which humans can and will kill other humans is unmatched by any other entity.
Isaac’s whole journey is him breaking out the mindset of a slave and learning how to embrace his potential and understand the value of his life, and I’m so here for it.
It's not just that. It's him understanding the value of justice. He realizes that there are people who do indeed deserve to be punished for their crimes against others. Like he said, he found joy in killing the wizard, because it meant he was able to create a future for the village with his deposition. He wasn't killing out of hatred for the human race, but because in this scenario it was the right thing to do. It's the same way he treats Carmilla. Originally he hated her for her plotting against and betraying Dracula. But by the time he reaches Styria, he is hunting her because he understands that her ambition, greed and arrogance are too dangerous to be kept around. Regardless of whether or not humans may deserve it.

Everyone's talking about Isaac but Sir Mirror has also had a little glow up of its own. It has been polished since it first appeared. A nice little detail by the animators.
At the beginning, Hector was the more reasonable out of the two. Isaac felt kinda too zealotish and pesimistic to my taste, even tho he had every reason to, but he transformed so well during season 3 and then finished his journey in season 4 to become much more sympathetic. With season 4 he became my favourite.
Yeah I too didn’t like Isaac at the beginning. He’s lack of view on the Light Side of Humanity make me cringe. But now he’s perhaps one of my favorite characters in the series. 🙂
Yeah, didn t expect to like both the forgemasters. Hector seemed a passive guy with no will and Issac the classic humanity-is-evil guy. In the end loved both their arcs, so interesting characters. After draculas death in season 2, I thought the next seasons would be just filler/more adventure arc (which I d still like). But no, all the show feels so complete and I want another berry.
Kinda same. For the 2nd Season, I didn't give much care for Isaac until I saw his past life. Very cruel. At the near end of the season, he started to become my favorite character. Season 3 he practically has a new character role, antagonist or villain to protagonist/anti-hero or hero. Now, season 4 he's being more wiser and still have the habit of Devil Forging dead bodies. I see that skills like Isaac's and Hector's aren't evil just what to do with them.
I just want to point out everyone is missing the point. It’s his character development from being a nihilist to becoming an existentialist. Even tho he believed that humanity is evil he learned from the Captain that there is also good in humanity. He changed from believing all humans are bad based on his personal experience to realizing he can do good by becoming a role model not only to his night creatures but to other human beings like letting Hector live.
