In number 3, my answer is 2x² + 6x - x + 3 since in a foil method First is 2x is multiplied by x is 2x², Outer is 2x × 3 is 6x, Inner is -1 multiplied by x my answer is x because the variable (x) is always 1 and Last is -1 × 3 is -3. And then there is similar terms, you add it which is 6x and x and my answer is still 6 (I don't know if I am right, you can correct me if I'm wrong). My final answer is 2x² + 6x - 3. (Based on my understanding, in multiplication of integers unlike sign is equals to always negative). So why is your answer is different? Am I wrong? I'm sorry I don't get it Sir.

Genuinely asking also why is it negative when + 6 and -1 is the one we solved , 6 is the greater number shouldn’t we copy the greater number’s sign ? @jaceyrielle3511 you're gonna add the like terms 4x + 5x = 9x if the equation is ONLY asking you to ADD you'll add the numbers as if the variable 'x' don't exist.. you add 4+5=9 and add 'x' that's a rule in adding with variable.. you said that you get the answer '9x²'.. you'll only get this kind of answer ONLY if you MULTIPLY.. for example: 3x time 4x = 12x² that's also a rule in multiplying numbers with the same variable.. By using the FOIL method (you can search this up if you don't know what this is), the solution will look like this: (2x^2 - 1)(x + 3) = 2x^2 + 6x - x - 3 = 2x^2 + 5x - 3 You probably overlooked the 6x - x, or perhaps you have forgotten that 6x - x = 5.

you missed the neggative sign in '3x multiply to 1' it should be '3x multiply to -1'
