Since a movie is not done yet, I'd rather it be made into a a four season limited series on Netflix or another platform. Makes way more sense. I sincerely think that the only medium that could properly portray Dan Simmons vision for Hyperion is anime. Mainly because of how fanciful it is but I trust the Japanese not to shoehorn in lame topical politics. It's the epitome of sjw sci-fi without the sjw.

As much as I love the book I feel like this story can’t work as a movie or tv show. Like Hyperion is so far fetched and ridiculous it would just be silly to watch on screen. The book is pretty much made up of a bunch of cool science fiction concepts rather than just a straight forward story. Too much is going on and viewers unfamiliar with the books would probably just find it unconvincing. But hey id love to see them try cause Hyperion is a fucking brilliant book

There is no reason this couldn't be done. Follow the same vein as Battlestar Galactica (without that crap ending). There are more similarities with BsG and Hyperion than people realize (cybrids, cylons, hello?) You got the actors, you got the technology...I say go.

Don't do it. You could never make "The Hyperion Cantos" Into move. I guarantee it will suck.
I remember serious talk about doing Asimov's Foundation back in the 1980's. Much like Hyperion, it seems too complex to make it onto the video scene.

maybe Hyperion will be a follow up to the terror series, if it is well received. They said something about an anthology format.
