    In regards to the technique of setting the idle speed mechanically, using the two bolts, this works exactly the same on the om602.
    I had to find this out myself, before I saw your video. It would have saved me a lot of time! A reputable Mercedes shop in my area apparently did not know about this adjustment, since I had brought my car in because of high idle, and they were not able to do much.
    Great videos, please keep them coming!

      @@argjendpotoku9350 Idle is the speed where the car rests when you start it and when no accelerator input is made. If you car smokes a lot maybe its the ALDA or injectors, etc.

    Thank you very much for your videos.
    Can you do a video about how ELR works and how to diagnose if ELR is not working correctly?

    Nice video, but i have a question. How did you remove the transmission modulator valve? I don’t see it anymore in this video. I’m working on a project and I’m curious how to bypass that valve.

    I have a 1991 300D non-turbo (OM603.912), so no ELR, and my idle is to low... The plastic screw part of the accelerator cable is broken, is that the reason for the low idle? If I change it and tighten it a bit more, will that increase my idle speed a bit? Thanks in advance.

      @TheBetito123 Před rokem

      Dont adjust idle with the accelerator cable. It must be pure an injection pump thing

    Hello Peter should these cars have any lifter noise. My 1987 300d w124 sounds just like the motor in your video. Is this normal. Also my tachometer and temp gauges is not working.
    Any advice for me. ?
    Thank you.

    Have a nice day.
    I need your advice about my car, when the engine is cold my idle speed is very low (450-500) rpm
    when warmed up 1000 rpm
    there is a vacuum valve on the adjustment screw, would it be faulty?
    also, the engine makes a strange knocking sound when I step on the brake many times, which goes away after a while
    I really like this car and I want everything to be fine with it. the car was manufactured in 1991. w124 250d with om602 engine

    Hey! I own a 207D that has some terrible vibrations on idle. I checked injectors, mounts, and they are all good. I suspect that the engine has too low RPM on idle because when I pull the throttle cable/increase the RPM a bit, the vibrations go away and everything is smooth. Is there any way to check if my engine RMP is in optimal parameters? I searched online for professional service on this but didn't find anything (at least in my country). Thanks!

    So if I adjust my idle speed the engine will run good? Will the high RPM make the me loose more diesel ? I want my car to be on good fuel consumption

    • @dieselmercedes7507
      @dieselmercedes7507  Před 9 lety +3

      Ato Nympha Adjustment was very slight, it will not affect Miles per gallon fuel consumption numbers…..

    Does it matter in what order you try these techniques? I assume you went in the order you did for some reason.

    what is the purpose of the idle can u give me a reason?

    • @donaldmoore9117
      @donaldmoore9117 Před 5 lety +1

      oil pressure for diesel engine is very important. high enough idle means oil presume and transmission will work correctly

  • @Sk857.
