#Scream5 #Characters #TierList - Zábava
My favorite character in the movie was actually the Ghostface costume. I feel no shame in saying this was Roger Jackson's best performance of the series. As creepy as he was in the original, he's gotten so much better with age.
He aged like fine wine.
I really appreciate your defense of Sam. I think what a lot of people don't take into account is that, throughout the movie, she's on antipsychotic meds, which typically give patients a flat affect and somewhat of a delayed response in processing thoughts, words, and events. As a pharmacist, I was pleasantly surprised to see such an accurate depiction. It's a subtle nuance that makes a lot of sense for the character. I also agree that Richie had more nuance than Amber, but I've yet to decide if that was because of the writing or Quaid. Given the lack of nuance throughout the movie generally, I'm giving it to the actor. Amber and Richie were fun as Ghostface just because they were so clearly psychotic and without a personal motive, which we haven't seen since Mickey, but it was pretty obvious from almost the beginning that they were the killers. When the reveal finally came, it wasn't the payoff for which I was hoping. Gale finally got the spotlight she deserved, but it still felt like it wasn't enough. Sidney, as always is the MVP. Sidney at heart is an introvert and internalizes everything. Neve plays her so well; she gives the audience just enough to see Sid's growth throughout the franchise, but there's always something hidden. We respect and love her, but it never feels like we truly know her, which always leaves us wanting more. I never get tired of her which, sadly, is not always the case when final girls make repeat appearances. Thanks for this, and for putting so much thought and care in your videos. It's truly appreciated!
Wow, what a great analysis of everyone you just mentioned. Kudos! And thank you!
Thanks but im not reading that
@@tomshaw-jarred4376 No one asked you to read it. 🤷🏻♂️
See, I just kind of loved the glee Amber displays in being so despicable. Like, she can't even keep her act in front of Sidney and Gale because she's so proud of how stabby stabby she was. I found that weirdly endearing.
The fact that Chad was not just the dumb jock made him memorable
Really sad that Sidney won’t be back for Scream 6, but I stand with Neve on the fact she deserves a boat load of money per movie. She’s help make this one of the best horror franchises ever (THE best imo) and it just sucks to lose her. Hopefully this doesn’t hinder the next movie too much, but a little worried after Jamie Kennedy said he saw the script and Sidney had a good size role. I just want to keep seeing this franchise live on and I know the legacy stars won’t always be in them going forward, but the sudden exit just sucks. Finally, keep making awesome content man love your videos because you can tell just how much you love horror and your passion shines through!
She doesn’t need to be in the next movie
She definitely deserves a break and we have plenty of characters around for the kills. Kirby included.
I'm hoping they had a script planned for if she wasn't going to be in it
She already got enough by playing Sidney because someone else was and they said no
So I will have Sidney in scream 6 but if she’s not in 7 I’m gonna flip because Sidney is a bad ass
Finally, someone else who likes Sam. I adore Melissa and the character! Thank you ! 💗💗💗💗💗💗
Sam was my favourite in this film, the first film where Sidney wasn't my number 1.
Sam has grown on me the more times I've watched the film. I think she would probably be everyone's favorite if she hadn't been paired against Jenna Ortega who is more talented as an actress and conveys her range of emotions way better than Melissa. But, I really love the character of Sam. She's so complicated that it's hard not to want to learn more about her and see where she goes in the series.
Mikey Madison deserves so much better. Like Amber in the 3rd act is so fun to watch and definitely was a highlight but before that, she and the rest of the new friend group (especially Liv) weren’t given anything substantial.
Amber definitely deserved more character development but yet I still find myself loving her . Mikey has such a mysterious aura about her that I truly believe she could’ve took it THERE if she was given the opportunity too.
Judy had the best death scene. The most terrifying things happen in broad daylight.
imagine putting someone who's only lines were "I'm sorry... I'm sorry" in the same section as Amber
I seriously don’t understand his distaste for Amber while on the other hand he likes Mickey… Mickey was a killer LITERALLY because he wanted to be a killer. Both HORRIBLE people. Both give amazing performances… and Amber managed to kill Dewey? like what?
Glad you mention Sam at the start! Anyone having to compete with Sidney & Gale is going to have a tall order. But she completely shine at the end ! Like she had a good overall in the film and I feel more people will come around to her in Scream 6 .
This ain’t true. Kirby and Tara are fan favorites and ppl want them as the new lead. Sam was just cliche and acting wise left a lot to be desired
Tara should be the new Sidney imo. Sam is kinda meh, nothing hits for me. Also the fact that Tara survived her attack solidified her status.
Guys, Tara did almost nothing the whole movie bc she was attacked. Sam protected her, when Tara was in danger Sam always found a way to care for her sister. She unties Tara, fights back Richie, decides to leave Woodsboro with Tara. She basically has the smartests desicions all the movie
@@paulomiranda6505 right. Jenna a fabulous actress but Tara was in danger so much and only survived the first attack because Amber wanted Sam to come back. Also Sam, saved her the second time. Then she got her own revenge by shooting Amber . Sam and her both final girls and they need stop comparing them.
@@xxsawftxx9604 just like Billy, Samantha can control the narrative. It is actually pretty smart that the writers gave this to her, because Billy was always in Sidney's mind
I feel like something that doesn't get enough appreciation when it comes to Sam is that the horror genre has a huge problem when it comes with characters that have psychotic disorders; to have a character that is mentally ill, that hallucinates, and is the hero instead of the villain, challenges the audience in a way I really appreciate.
Very true, it gives the story a lot of realism. A character who has struggled through so much and trying to do what’s right and protect the people she loves. I love Sam, and I wanna see more of her
Now this is a great take!
I’m also glad you ranked Sam in the Simply The Best category, Thank You Zack!
Liv was wasted.
Her character seemed to be one of the most interesting of the new bunch and her character arc wasn't written well enough.
Gale is a icon and she is always the moment 💞👑💞
My one respectful quibble with your list is Tara's placement. She's simply the best. I would say lower end of that group because she doesnt get much character development like you say. She is however the opening scene and she SURVIVES (first time this has happened) She goes toe to toe with the killer 3 times throughout the film and survives every single battle. She doesn't just run in the opening scene, she kicks and fights back. She finds a way to fight while using a wheelchair..she beats the crap out of Amber with a crutch AND gets the final kill shooting her in the head. Tara is incredibly resourceful, resilient, and totally confident.
I actually her and Sam are set up as sort of the new Sid and Gale.
Same. Not only was Jenna the best actress in the movie, but the fact that her character re-writes the previous Scream first characters was great.
I completely respect your opinions, but I loved this movie. This was Dewey’s best performance in scream by far in my opinion. His scene in his trailer with Sam and Richie is in my top 3 scream scenes of all time. He NAILED the rules that Scream has created and it was the perfect meta moment.
Not to mention we're still not over his death 😢
Best line NOT in the movie⬇️
Richie: How can fandom be toxic?
Sidney: By having your own opinion while also feeling entitled to the ones belonging to others.
Agreed. I cackled
For me I have 2:
Chad: he’s gonna meet Hobbs & Shaw
Sidney: I’m bored
Ghostface: ooooo wait
Yess
Richie: It's safe to say you're on the suspect list.
Dewey: Well, maybe you're the killer. Because that cut deep.
I loved the conversation between Mindy and Amber also in the basement where they were like :
Would a killer do this and kind of questioning each other
I literally forgot Liv was in this movie after it ended. Home girl was there to pad the body count.
Totally agree with your rankings!
she could've been better honestly, i even disagree with him that she "seems like a different character everytime she's on screen", it was just a wasted potential to what otherwise could've been a perfect red herring character.
Definitely surprised to see Amber's placement. I find her to be one of the more fun Ghostface killers
Nah, I prefer Richie.
@National Sports Entertainment Amber was a more enjoyable killer but Richie was a far more enjoyable character. I think that's the most common consensus.
I watched Scream 5 a year ago. I cant remember Amber at all other than she was a killer. I remember the male killer in this one even less though. At least I remember Amber's name so she has that
Why because she was female? If she were male she'd be totally even more boring imho.
Richie was better in my opinion
Sam in the « simply the best » category : THANKS !
For me, an amazing surprise in this movie - with her sister Tara.
Finally someone who don’t hate this character.
Thanks for this.
I like your list
Completely agree with everything you said about Tara/Jenna. I think her lack of on screen relationships with the other "new generation" characters is just a symptom of the fact that she was in hospital and incapacitated for a large portion of the film. Really hope they do her justice in 6.
You never fail to entertain me with your scream content I actually really enjoyed this video thanks for it!!
It could’ve been really cool to have Vince and Sam forced to work together as enemies. They’re binded by this conflict of being the killers target all while not knowing if he’s the killer or not… instead he gets such an unceremoniously and unearned treatment
Enjoyed it of course. Now I am a huge Amber Freeman fan but watching your videos on the movie I’m thinking maybe they could have combined Amber and Liv. Maybe Amber could have been Chad’s girlfriend? Considering that is Liv’s only memorable trait I think giving Amber that title and her scenes would have been pretty cool.
Also happy to see someone else appreciate how awesome Chad is. Out of the new cast I hope we get more of him and possibly make him the final boy the franchise and genre deserves.
omg agreed, amber being chad’s girlfriend would’ve been so interesting
Personally, I think they should’ve stuck with Tara and Amber being girlfriends so that both of the killers would be in relationships with the final girls, and it would’ve given Amber more of an impact prior to her reveal. I did thoroughly enjoy her post-reveal though, it’s just that she wasn’t given much to work with before then.
@@angeliccreeper1486 yeah i would've loved either honestly, the way they cut the scene in the bar when Mindy said Wes had a crush on Tara definitely looked like they cut it from originally being towards Amber but idk if that's for sure, that would've been so much fun
Yeah Chad was pretty interesting, and the fact that he was somewhat taking things seriously and actually wanted to look for his missing partner showed how caring he was. I would’ve loved to see more of him and Wes
i honestly don’t think amber should’ve been chads girlfriend at all, they should’ve kept amber and tara being girlfriends, it would’ve added more character and depth and motive(if i can’t have her no one can, bc wes had a huge crush on tara)and even more insanity to it
It would've been funny If amber was Tara's girlfriend because Dewey would've been EVEN MORE right,
It's always the love interest
I wish they stuck with their OG idea of Tara and Amber being together
They should have but Jenna wasn’t old enough apparently
I’m glad they didn’t. 3 lesbian characters? That’s way too much. Wokeness needs to die already
@@deathbymazda idk if you're being serious or sarcastic but how is having 3 lesbian people in a film being woke? multiple lesbians in a friend group exists irl lmao
@@MJ-hz6gh Not everything has to be completely taken over by the LGBT community. They are massively over represented in film as is
I've been watching several scream videos and I think you are the one who does them best, good explanation, good logic, etc. And I Still don't understand why I wasn't suscribed to your channel.
New Sub.
Welcome aboard!
Thanks you're the best
strange to me that people think mindy is anymore ‘insensitive’ than randy was, both are huge horror movie nerds and both viewed each tragedy through that lense. randy was joking about them finding casey’s liver in the mailbox literally the morning after at school. actually makes more sense that mindy would be more ‘desensitized’ being gen Z and being exposed to the extreme violence in film and irl this generation has.
Exactly I feel as though Zack kind of glanced over that detail. Given the fact that Randy in the original treated the whole situation as if it was a field day of some sort until he got shoot.
@@stonks6936 totally, and i honestly love both characters so much, mindy saying watching Stab ‘relaxes’ her was my favorite line of hers
Randy wasnt friends with Casey and Steve, Mindy was close with Tara tho. That's the difference.
@@MJ-hz6gh it’s still insensitive to joke about whether you are close with someone or not so it’s not really different at all but idc either way, their nonchalance is the point, and i love them for it.
I think you'd expect a gen z teen to be more sensitive and considerate than a 90 teen.
I don't mind it though, it's a horror film, they have to keep the mood light.
I _completely_ agree with you when it comes to Mindy! She was definitely my favorite new character immediately after my first viewing of the film. She was funny, and fun, and “smart”. (She was _hella_ smart at some points and, then at other points, she was a complete dumbass. lol 🤷🏼)
I _am_ super excited to see her in Scream 6 though as I hope that they’ll flesh her out better and perhaps allow her to show some more empathy in general this time.
I love Jasmin in the role and I’m _super_ excited to see more of her snarky attitude. Just some more balance to her character would be pretty damn fabulous! lol
Mindy is literally a Randy 2 but female(ik Randy's her uncle)
Heyyy....Zack cherry your my most favorite youtuber and I hope you keep doing this...you bring me joy
I take psychological meds and sometimes I just feel like Sam, very slow to understand, to react, and very sleepy. I can relate to her and I love Melissa's portray, because sometimes it seems that she is out place and her own mind. I know that she delivers the more robots dialogues, but It makes sense due the fact she is on meds and anxiety can really slow someone down. Just like Samantha I also delivers some of the robots thoughts on my group of friends
How come I always agree with every opinion/ analysis?? Great video as usual
Regardless of how people feel about Amber, she’s easily one of the most memorable Ghostface killers. She took out Dewey.
I agree with u
She’s my favorite since the original duo. Richie on the other hand, I found to be very lame. Not at all threatening, not at all unique
I really loved how she flipped when the good guys got the upper hand in the kitchen scene, from savage to regretful, like she finally realized her actions could come with some... serious consequences (which she didn't seemed too used to). And then flipped back.
@@benjihudson2768 I really don’t see how Amber was threatening she was just a stupid kind of psychopath I honestly liked Richie more that laugh right before Sam stabbed him kind of gave me a joker laugh vibe but they are my least favorite killers
@@benjihudson2768 there’s also a huge giveaway for Richie which kinda is like oof. Not his fault and the writers definitely wanted to see if audiences noticed but it took away from me
Liv deserved better, it was good if she somehow managed to survive and have a better role in scream 6, but unfortunately she was shot right in the head and it is impossible to survive. I really liked her character, especially the fact that it reminded me of Tatum (my favorite character). I bet if Wes was doing the script for this movie too, Liv would have a more important role maybe even the murderer.
I know she had so much potential to be a badass character hopefully samara weaving pulls through in 6 since their characters are related
I would love a full in-depth video of Sidney and Gale’s relationship
Awesome character ranking.
This was such a well-rounded, educated evaluation of these characters. I might not have agreed with every placement, but after listening to your analyses, I can admit my mind was changed on a few of them. It will be interesting to see where the Scream team goes with the upcoming sequel. Some really great new characters here - as long as the series keeps doing them right. #justiceforjudy
Richie is my favorite character in the franchise. I love him.
Great rankings. Close to mine. Can't wait for what's to come in Scream 6.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Kyle Gallner and Dylan Minnette were so underused. We could have done so much with the Wes character in upcoming installments.
Very good list! I loved Mindy, Tara, Sam and Chad
I think Richie is maybe my favorite character in the entire franchise. I thought he was hilarious! He had several lines that had me rolling!
Lies..
I liked him a lot more before the reveal. Funny character before but a terrible killer.
@@stairwaytose7en I dont think so
I liked him a lot. I suspected him being the killer but was really hoping I'd be wrong so he can stick around.
Holy shit, it's Ghostface!
When I tell you how excited I was to see this video finally come out, I mean it. I was at a hotel out of town, because we were going to my Uncle's wedding the next day. My ENTIRE family flew out from all over the country and they all met up in the lobby to eat dinner. Meanwhile, I was up in my hotel room watching this video lol😂
Is that I know what you did last summer in the background (I love it)
I love this channel and channels like it. Makes it feel like Halloween all year long!😈
Ugh I love how good u are at these 💕
Wes was one of my favorites. He deserved so much better. Dylan Minnette is one of my favorite human beings in general.
Zack I like your ranking videos - you do you boo!
Personally, I thought Amber was a better Ghost Face than Ritchie, but neither of them were super memorable.
Love your Scream commentary, please do a reaction video to the news that Neve won't be in Scream 6!
Did people have a problem with Sam? I really liked her and I've never really seen anybody hate her. Then again I don't really interact with the fandom that often even though I love the franchise so who knows.
Yeah the fans hate her. I liked her alot though
@@gabrieljewett4042 Huh, didn't know that. I thought she was cool.
@@gabrieljewett4042 not really the fans. More so the obnoxiously loud sore minority who hate everything post Scream 3.
More so her acting
Her character was good her acting sucks though .
I personally would've swapped Liv and Vince, I feel like Vince was completely pointless in this movie, while Liv could've have been better bc she actually has 3 or 4 scenes where she's actually painted like a red herring but they really went nowhere with it and did her kinda dirty, I feel like Sonia did the best she could with the material she had but even the way her part was written seemed off (like the speech she gives to Mindy, she's actually scary in the way she delivers it but it feels almost off character, they could've established early on that Liv maybe has anger issues or something like that bc the sudden speech about being the murdered threatening Mindy comes really out of nowhere) I really think we didn't need Stu's nephew to be a part of this movie, or at least not in the way Vince was presented, while we actually needed a more ambiguous Liv to play the red herring.
Appreciate the focus in this list on the character rather than the acting and it’s pretty on point. Though Ngl, if taking acting into consideration some of the list shifts quite a bit for me 😬
You brought up a good observation of characters that were underutilized in Scream (2022). Could you do a ranking of the order you thought the kills should be without changing the killers? I think that could be a cool video.
I actually loved Liv 🧍♂️
I think mindy and Tara were the best besides the og 3
Facts I loved both of them
Ughhh I love them so much they honestly stole the show for me!!
The version that played at my local literally didn't even have Liv's death. It cuts straight from Amber pulling the gun to her shooting at the other characters and missing. Me and all my friends were like "wait what happened to Liv" after the movie
Liv would have made more sense as being one of the killers for me. She kept disappearing right before Ghostface would attack, looked like the mostly likely to snap the way the original killers did but was also able to throw you off with the innocent face she wore.
Liv and Vince would’ve been perfect keep Richie alive
I wish we could have seen more of Tara in this movie, Jenna Ortega is definitely one of my new favorite actresses. I agree with you about Sam, too. I really liked her character and how she fought back so hard.
I am hoping they don't plan on making her a killer in the next movie. Kind of like it was implied with Tommy Jarvis in Friday 4. I really like the discussion of "Am I going to end up like my dad?" That's something a lot of people who live through abuse feel, speaking from experience. It's a very real fear and I'm glad it was in this movie.
what did u use to make the tier list?
Hey, this was a good list! I would’ve definitely moved Tara into the tier with Sam, not switched them because I love Sam, but other than that I totally agree.
I totally agree that Tara suffers as a character because we never really see her interact with anyone outside of Sam. I've been thinking that if we got all of our new kids introduced at the start of the movie at Tara's house, they'd be more nuanced and complex because we see right off the bat everyones relationship to each other and to Tara. My version is that it would be a subtle nod to Clue, with everyone accenting a specific color from the game, but Tara in white. We see Mindy and Wes in the kitchen, Mindy noticing how Wes is jealous bc of his crush on Tara and him shooting back with how Mindy has a crush on Amber. We see Chad and Liv and more of their dynamic and we see Amber and Tara and their relationship to each other. Eventually everyone leaves besides Amber and they fall asleep together only for Tara to be awaken by the landline. Then we get our opening scene with Amber being attacked but not killed and Tara surviving bc the police arrive in time. We establish them as a friend group and the audience has a feel for the characters and what their motives or intentions could be.
Liv isn't so bad. I do think she was done dirty in the film, but that is more because of the filmmakers wasting her. I don't blame her for that.
I have nothing but complete and utter respect for Jenna Ortega for her role as Tara and I will say that over and over again if I have too. You are correct in the fact that the character didn't really have any connection to the other characters aside from Sam. The only moment they really showed Tara having a connection to her friends was with her being in the hospital and even then you didn't get that feel of 'oh, they actually care about each other' but instead they're just kind of there. Hopefully in the next movie we see more interaction between Tara and the other few, because I personally do enjoy these characters.
My personal ranking:
18.- Chad Meeks
17.- Deputy Farney
16.- Ghostface Voice
15.- Judy Hicks
14.- Vince Schneider
13.- Wes Hicks
12.- Deputy Vinson
11.- Tara Carpenter
10.- Liv McKenzie
9.-- Ghost Billy
8.- Gale Weathers
8.- Martha Meeks
6.- Mindy Meeks
5.- Richie Kirsch
4.- Sam Carpenter
3.- Sidney Prescott
2.- Amber Freeman
1.- Dewey Riley
The only thing I disagree with is where you put Amber, similar to how Stu was made memorable because of Matthew Lillard as an actor whereas the character itself probably would've came off as bland had someone else played him I believe that same applies to Amber, the actress made the role memorable. Now she would still be a lower end memorable character but her actress definitely made the best of the role she was given
Love the list, one thing though, Olivia’s kill one Scream 4 is still by far the most brutal kill in the franchise, no question
Idk if this is late but can I have the link If you still have it
Zack’s hatred for Liv is sending me 😂
Amber is one of my favorite Ghostfaces, she’s fun and her kills were brutal. And she is the only Ghostface to kill one of the legacies. Cmon now put a little respect on her name. but I think I’m biased because she’s very pretty ☺️ and she also had the line, “welcome to act III.” I just love that line, and just whipping out the gun sheeeesh… I love your impartial analysis of Dewey’s arc because it did make narrative sense. He had way too many close calls too. I also hated it though because watching die hurt me 🥲 at least Amber was respectful and said that it was an honor. I just love seeing all the Gale appreciation in your videos. Sidney is my favorite Final Girl but Gale fights for number one in my heart. I oscillate between the two, it’s hard to pick. I like their relationship. They’re bonded through trauma and experience and they’ve built a mutual trust. And I know that they would die for each other but they’d rather fight for each other and themselves. Voice acting is acting and he’s emulating the Ghostface persona so I think you’re right in including him and ranking him so high, as you should. Judy said that so serious, “I prefer animated films and musicals.” Honestly one of my top favorite one liners in Scream. That’s such a good catch that Sam was actively moving the plot along and was doing it well. I love seeing her next to the greats. 22 consecutive, rapid. Stabs 😩 mamma mia and then she somehow outdoes herself in 6. I want to marry her. I pretty much agree with your ranking. Nice job dude
Putting Gale above Dewey in this movie is madness! Dewey gets maybe the best character arc in the film but Gale has basically run out of stuff to do in this franchise. But, I still love the video and the disagreements are the fun of ranking videos.
I agree with your list overall i should have shifted a few, because i have a weakness for the meeks family members. In Line memorabel i would have put them in This order: Mindy , Chad, Richie and than Martha for the rest i agree with your list.
Richie was for me such a distraction i thought the whole time ah he is cute and i kinda forgot to look for killer hints. It was a nice surprise and Amber had from the start killervibes but Richie was a nice surprise for me especially because i thought 50/50 that he could be the killer/ adorable survivor. Jack Quaid played the role perfect for me.
I think Tara could’ve been placed in “simply the best” and I sorta agree with the “relationship with the friend group” part, except with like amber and Wes, as the filmmakers made it seem like amber was her best friend, and Wes, who was called out by mindy in the bar for having a crush on Tara, so there’s that lol
I do admire even though gale and sidney have a bumpy friendship through out the movies I still love how they have each other back when it comes to fighting the killers and make sure one and another is okay. And I do admire how gale grab amber hand to keep her from stabbing sidney and then threw her across the counter. They both show good teamwork from scream 1-5 they grown so much.
See I’d have put Liv at “Could’ve been better”, since through most of her scenes I actually really liked her and was really drawn to her. I definitely think she should’ve been better written in the third act, and given more scenes before then- like it’s mentioned she worked with Tara before the movie, sooooo how come they were on screen together once and it’s when Liv was killed 20 seconds later?? She’s the definition of a missed opportunity, being that it’s very possible she was just kind of caught up in the action and ended up being the only person who was killed in the house aside from the killers (JUST like Tatum) I would’ve maybe liked more emotional value to really bum you out that she was caught up in the killings
I have a question, will you ever do all the horror references in scream 5 or the best name five cream
Eventually
Finally! - Zack Cherry I have been waiting on this video for 5 months.
I honestly loved the killer reveal with amber Mikey played it perfect
What do you think about scream 6 coming out next year and what do you think it's going to be about I think it's about everyone who has survived all the scream adventures or related to dead victims wanting revenge on Sidney
Great ranking! However, and maybe it's just me, but I didn't get that much from Chad. LIke, in the sense of "man, I really wanted to know more about him and hopefully he lives". TBH, I have no idea why they let him live at the end. Not that he was bad but I don't know if he warranted a survival for him to appear in sequel. That's why Mindy was there. I absolutely did not want her to die.
They said that Kirby is coming back in SCREAM 6! I’m so hyped to see a legacy character again
Tara was by far more memorable than Sam or the twins.
Yay! Another Zach Cherry video!! 🍒 🍒 🍒
I wish we got Gale/Judy scenes. Their little rivalry in 4 was fun to watch. It would have been nice to see that continue.
I just realized something. Whatever happened to joel from scream 2? Could he be a scream 6 victim?
omg yes I loved Sam so much
imagine dillan minnette as the killer would be so cool to see him go from carying in 13 reasons to psycho in scream
My Rankings:
14. Sam
13. Judy
12. Vince
11. Liv
10. Martha
9. Amber
8. Chad
7. Gale
6. Ritchie
5. Wes
4. Sydney
3. Dewey
2. Tara
1. Mindy
To see someone else who loves Sam and isn't high on Amber makes me feel right at home. Finally! Lol
Even tho Judy Hicks had one of the best kills of 5,
I really would’ve liked to see her survive just ONE
more movie😭🤷🏼♂️❤️
❤️🔪 THAANK YOU!!!!! 🔪❤️
Ps...I love you Neve! Forever MY final Girl ❤️
Also...I just realized All the character pics are from the end credits! Which is such a big part of these movies! Ugh great detail!!
Judy Hicks was my favourite character. Wish she survived. Comic relief but also creepy too, I thought she had potential to be a killer. Her history with Sydney and creepy scene when she comes out the shadows in scream 4 and when she hands her son the knife in scream 5. I think she should have survived this and had one of the others survive
The reason why it was change I believe had to do with Jenna age at the time of filming. When filming started she was 17 and Mickey was in her 20. So I think it was due to the ages
U are right Dewey does go in simply the best
Epic
That guy who died in the house explosion in Scream 3 is pretty brutal
Simply the Best Tier:
Dewey - As you said, his best performance. Dewey has always been my favorite character in the franchise and I'm sad to see him go. He was the heart of the movie.
Tara - A lot of this has to do with how strong of an actress Jenna Ortega is, but she showed a lot of heart and a lot of fight that made her an incredibly compelling character. The chase scene in the hospital was one of the more intense parts of the movie.
Ghostface - Same reasons you stated, it was fun to hear Roger L. Jackson get to show more range.
Memorable:
Sidney - Didn't really drive any action of the plot, and while I'm sad to see that Neve got lowballed financially for Scream 6, I do feel that she wasn't incredibly necessary to this particular story, and the only two logical conclusions to her story are either let her move on and live happily, or kill her off, and I do not want to see her killed off. Fantastic when she was on screen, and it made sense that she'd show up after Dewey's passing, but I ultimately felt that both her and Gale were kind of tacked on tbh, and since I'm doing these rankings based just on the events of Scream 5, this is where she lands. (For Scream series overall, she's #2 after Dewey for me.)
Richie - Jack Quaid played him to perfection, and even though the Ghostface duo in this movie were the least prepared tandem, Richie himself was always a welcome presence on screen.
Gale - Kind of like Sidney, she didn't get a lot of screen time and it wasn't her best outing, but her line at the end about writing about Dewey was a perfect capper. Much like Sidney, I don't see much of a reason for her to be in the next movie, especially with her being done writing about the killers. Love the character, of course.
Mindy - The "behind you Jamie, behind you" call back was a great touch, and she was one of the more fleshed out newbies.
Chad - Just a charming dude, and funny to boot. Didn't like that he went out by himself to find Liv, but outside of that, he showed smarts by not going upstairs with her.
Amber - What we did get to see of Amber was fun, though I do feel like of all the Ghostface's she got the least meaningful screen time. That being said, her actions in Act 3 of the movie elevated her.
Wes - How can you not like the paranoid character in a slasher flick. They could have done more with him, but the lead-up to his death was one of the funniest bits of the movie.
Middle of the Road:
Ghost Billy - Served the point of the plot, kind of odd how he was portrayed as somewhat heroic, but it is Sam's hallucinations, and she never knew him, so sure, we'll go with it.
Martha - Fun to see her, used just the right amount for a fun cameo.
Deputy Farney - Didn't make an impact on me either way, but he also wasn't expected to, so quite literally a middle of the road character.
Could Have Been Better:
Vincent - Would have made a very good red herring had he been given more to do. Instead, he shows up to look menacing towards the least developed character and then gets offed just because he was there. Glad to hear "Red Right Hand" as he went, though.
Sam - She still hasn't grown on me. I find Tara to be the much more compelling sister, and while I do like the fact that Sam was able to outsmart Amber in the hospital, and she did go H.A.M. on Richie, it did feel at time like Melissa Barrera was almost sleep walking through her scenes. She was a well written character, but I found the performance flat more than I would have cared to. I hope she's either the first kill of Scream 6, or the acting is better, because she was not a compelling final girl.
Just Die Already:
Judy - How sad is it that I was delighted to see her get offed? Marley Shelton played her well, but I never really cared for the character since Scream 4. I didn't like that she was trying to be a homewrecker with Dewey in Scream 4, and especially don't like that she forced him into retirement. Also, she held a grudge against Sam for past behavior when Sam was just a teen. Didn't show the kind of compassion you'd want from a Sheriff.
Liv - Served no point to the movie other than to pad the body count and make that one face for the trailer. At least Olivia in Scream 4 had a memorable death scene.
Deputy Vinson - Not only is he a bad cop, but his haircut is ridiculous.
I agree with all of your placements except I really like Judy and would've put her in Memorable, her death was the second saddest and most shocking to me after Dewey.
You definitely do a “who killed who” on the scream mtv series
I am trying to convince myself that Deputy Vincent turns out to be Richardson from Hot Rod 😂
i mostly agree except i think amber should’ve been in memorable, she’s one of my favorite killers just bc of how mikey madison plays her, mikey is an amazing actress. i also would’ve put ghost billy lower, switched him and amber. tara definitely should’ve been in simply the best, and sam in memorable. richie would go in could have been better or just die already for me, i genuinely hated him, one of my least favorite killers, credits to his actor for playing him amazinf though, i hated richie with everything in me.
i cant believe it, why does everyone hate on richie he's so good, my second favourite killer. People really need to stop hating on richie jesus.
Also the only thing I disagree with is Sam being above tara I don’t see how that happened acting wise and character wise also tara is more badass the only final girl material I saw out of Sam was richies kill
Tbh I don't get the Tara love. She doesn't have a noteworthy personality, spends most of the film in bed and doesn't get anything interesting to do past the opening.
She's not a terrible character by all means but I find Sam far more interesting. 🤷♂️
Tara is barely in the movie after the opening scene. Sam is great and will be a future ghostface I been calling it since I saw the way she killed richie
@@pleaseshutup7053 barely in the movie? Did you actually watched the film? Lmaooo Sam was only a couple of minutes ahead of Tara in terms of screen time.
@@MJ-hz6gh after the opening scene all she does is cry I was waiting for Sam to slit her throat in the hospital scene
