As a gay man I actually empathize with parents because I can understand their concern; I wouldn't want my kids learning about inappropriate content at school either. HOWEVER, the law is problematic because it doesn't actually contain a precise DEFINITION of "instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity." Thus, if you were to read children a book that depicted a family with a mother and father, that would be breaking the law because the book is making a reference to hererosexuality (and the law prohibits discussion of sexual orientation); the book "And Tango Makes Three" (which depicts two penguin fathers and their daughter) was banned for depicting homosexuality, so why shouldn't books depicting straight parents be banned as well? The law doesn't specify WHICH sexual orientations should not be discussed. A better example of a definition of "instruction on sexual oreignation and gender identity" would be something like, "Children between the ages of 5 and 13 shall not be taught about sexual intercourse between men and women, women and women, or men and men" or "Students in K-8th grade shall not be given information about where to obtain puberty blockers." The law is written too vaguely, which leaves teachers without guidance on what they can and cannot say in the classroom. How is the teacher supposed to address bullying of students with same-sex parents if she cannot even mention the fact that the student has same-sex parents? The law is poorly written, and I wonder if the vague legal language was intentional. Ron DeSantis is a lawyer; you'd think he would appreciate the necessity of precise language.
The vagueness was intentional. If you are presented with a vague law open to interpretation, you won't approach especially if your livelihood and income depend on it. For Schedule F, law enforcement and other federal officials will be doing heinous acts under the next Republican administration because they have to pay the mortgage and want to remain in good standing. If you see 5000 laws aimed at a given community, you simply won't go out on a limb and defend them.
School has never been about Homosexuality. Desantis is right, it doesn't belong in it.

There is sexual education in school. Teachers also can be gay and now they can’t say “my husband and I went to a gay bar over the weekend” without being disciplined

Do you seriously believe that drag queen that exibitions in fron of kids. Most of shows towards children, is practically book reading events, there stories contains stories there the protagonist may have two mums or two dads, or stories that teach tolerance, no explicit stories.
This made me cry. Yet again we don’t learn from our mistakes and are traumatizing another generation of queer people.

@@Aj-me8molgbt kids being pushed to say that they are not gay/trans can lead to suicide. Cons are trying to push back the legal age of minors a lot of states do 16 but some are now trying to push back to 15 even 14.
@@Aj-me8mo Minors are not undergoing surgery. The most a minor can get is hormones which are REVERSIBLE. Even that is rare as there is an incredible amount of hoops to jump through. Most trans kids, assuming they are living with a loving family will socially transition first. That could mean changing their style of clothes, changing hair styles, putting makeup on, etc. They may choose a different name to go by, they may express their wish to go by different pronouns. The reason we don't accept pedos is because their just that, pedos. Not MAPS, and not a part of our community. Allowing trans kids to be themselves is not the same. And we aren't going away. We were born this way and like it or not we will continue existing. So unless you want a large demographics already high suicide rate to increase I suggest you start treating us like human beings.

The school is not only that, it's also a place to learn the world outside, even if they parents doesn't like the world outside. Plus not all have the lucky to have a good familiar environment, and the school may become a safe place for them.

It is actually called the parental rights in education bill.. it basically States you cannot teach any form of sexuality to kids from kindergarten to third grade whether it's Hetrosexuality , homosexuality or transgender

If anyone wants to identify as gay, just do it when you're old enough but avoid indoctrinating children with these concepts at an early age. There are also all kinds of organizations that provide financial and legal aid to teachers and students affected by this legislation. If a teacher were fined for talking about LGBTQ issues, there would be media scrutiny and GoFundMe's to pay those fines and court costs immediately. None of which makes DeSantis's nonsense okay. But there is recourse.

There were never kids exposed to pornagraphy.
