This needs to be released as a brushless
Yup, hopefully they add that to the lineup!
Very unlikely, as then Traxxas would not be able to sell you brushless upgrade kit for i guess around 200 bucks!!!
Yah car cost 350 bucks…then u gotta spend an extra 200 for brushless system…but that’s what makes the hobby fun…😊
Over spending on a traxxas car that’s not fun at all
@@zbieguzbiegu if that was the case then why do almost all of their electric cars have a brushless version or only come with a brushless system. The only exception is the trx4. They will release a brushless one.
What I really love for Traxxas is; they're very creative in introducing clipless body mount, no other RC company match this
Except Axial… and many other brands…
indeed
@@Tywild327 Yeah but axial is like 80% of their 1/10 scale still uses body posts with clips but credits to thme if you odn't watch it closely they are well kidden or don't poke out too far or closer to the windshiled not in the f@ck middle of the hood but still body posts and clips on their page they just don't put the pins in for teh phote i checked their page today since in crawlers they are probably the best.
Even lowly (but pretty good) Absima did that before Traxxas.
After a year this car still holds up
I just got mine in the candy apple red color, and I LOVE mine! Very responsive and quick and fun to drive and the styling of everything is of the highest quality.
What a great looking Rc car Traxxas did great with this one
Yes.. this is one for the collection just for the attention to detail!! Looks like loads of fun right out the box for a noob like me. Great video Greg and keep them coming.!!
Wow that looks great! Brilliant review as always!
It is a well done model! Thanks!
Definitely needs more speed, especially for that price. Gorgeous car inside and out, overall. Looks like a great addition to anyone's collection.
Thanks for the great review!!! I don't think this is over priced at $330 given the chassis, incredible body and new mounting system. This is probably a better deal than an upcoming brushless version. Experienced guys can throw away the cheap electronics and not feel bad at all.
Awesome looks, good job Traxxas!
I got this today its perfect
I preordered this car back in May and should get it later this month they said. This is my 1st RC car since 20+ years ago when I had the off-road Tamyia Hornet. I wanted it because it was a C8. Back when I had the last RC car I had a "stick transmitter" so I'll have to get used to the new controller. But it will most likely sit on my shelf on display more than being driven.
My first transmitter was stick too. You’ll pick up the wheel radio quick. But yeah, it makes a great shelf queen.
Excellent video and full breakdown on the 3.0!
I see 180mph in that platform's future....well done traxxas. Well done on the descriptions man, as always!! Nice paint job on the jeep there btw that looked sharp!!
@@Lucas.stalcup Obviously your a fanboy, with absolutely no idea of what your taking about, at all, there have been plenty of worse platforms hitting 160, there on you tube. It's not like it's anything new, always gotta be that one dumb ass fanboy gotta leave a comment who knows absolutely nothing, the arrma gave it away🤣
@@PigglyWigglyDeluxe ok well seeing how ya seem to know all about builds, which you are well off on a few, however I recommend watching JoBoriaRacing, right here on you tube, and as you will see the SMALLER TRAXXAS 4TEC 2.0 PLATFORM IS BIENG USED TO HIT 179, SO smart guy seeing how there is alot more room with the new platform, SEEMS HIGHLY LOGICAL THAT 1 MPH CAN BE REACHED. I've gotten 122 out of a traxxas bandit platform, and that is microscopic in comparison to the 4tec
@@PigglyWigglyDeluxe I've built and dont care to argue over a toy, every build starts at somthing, so I assume my built up bandit and notorious are simply not arrma or traxxas anymore c'mon man, been building rc cars since antennas were 4 feet long no esc's so I do know what I'm talking about, I've had many failures and few triumphs, and they ALL STARTED OUT AS SOMTHING. ITS CALLED HOBBY, and with a bit of imagination (and bank account helps) ya can build anything so you have your point that stands clearly with yourself, holds no water with someone who has done these things, without any of the circumstances you claim being a issue, with the only exception of weight vs down force, which after awhile gets rather easy, so again your point is your alone.
Thanks!
Looks good. Got my red one on pre order.
Just got mine today. Put my 30 ebay brushless system in it and she goes great. Total 360 dollars. Hell of a model.
That's an awesome looking piece of kit.
Got a blue one coming .... I loved there C7 corvette too. I put my C7 on a brushless 2.0 chassis. Much much better. I agree Traxxas needed to put this on brushless system !!! It’s a CORVETTE !!!! The Great American sports car!!!!
How dare they kick you out! You're a nice man!
CT is one big “No Trespassing” sign. 😕
@@rcdriver I thought I was going to get kicked out of a lot when running my infraction. A cop pulled in and just watched what I was doing and then left. Good deal since I was in a MA town that's known for over policing.
Yes me too. The cops told me do not run rc cars after 10:00 pm in residential. He told me after 10:00 pm go to a store parking lot away from residential. This occurred in 3 towns. Common sense. Never drive rc cars near people.
@@allmightygreatone1048 Funny thing is I was in an third overflow lot that is set way back where nobody ever goes. I’ve never seen the primary lot full either. Is what it is. I just quietly move on.
i really like this car looks like its running pretty well
Nice car dude hi from Costa Rica 🇨🇷 🇺🇸🤜🏻🤛🏻 its a great video I long time ago don’t comment but I always look your awesome videos
Wow look great rc Bro!!!
I love this car hope to see more bodies for it. This should be released with the same electrics in the Hoss that would be cool
Great video really digging that shell. A poor mans corvette. I’m in line. 👍
Yup! I got my Vette lol!
Sweet car!
Nice car! It actually looks like it runs pretty well as a brushed system. Not too bad. 🙂
That is one hell of a good looking car, love the Corvette Stingray!! The chassis looks pretty decent, plenty of upgrade potential. Might consider getting one when they're available in the UK ;)
Nice video Greg. Traxxas did a great job replicating the C8 - even if I do prefer the C7 in the real car! It looks plenty fast enough to me - I have a "nitro" powered C4 ZR1 that isn't as quick but that's quite enough for throwing around the small roads around here! Plenty of up-grade potential though - but it does need an ESS or similar, to give the proper LT2 sound!
Try moving the battery forward to see if the understeer goes away, I noticed the under steer before you even mentioned it. Im excited to maybe get one
Traxxas did an awesome job with the styling in this for sur! But like others here I agree that the price is a little high especially for a brushed system.
Torch Red, Elkhart Lake Blue (Road America, Wisconsin) and Watkins Glen Gray (New York). Oddly, WGG was only offered on the C7 (2017 to early 2019). The C8 Gray is significantly lighter and called Shadow Gray.
Will be taking mine out today (picked it up yesterday...also blue) for her maiden voyages (charged three 5400mAh packs). However, she won't be stock - as soon as I removed her from the box, I immediately set about swapping out the brushed system work the Velineon VXL-3S system (removed from my Rustler 4x4 two years ago)...and, yes, already have the aluminum motor mount in its way (just received 'shipped' notice, with tracking number, less than 10 minutes ago).
Speaking of brushless, yes, Traxxas WILL be releasing a Velineon brushless version sooner or later...of that, I'm 95+% certain. Why? Because there are countersink screw holes for the stock brushed system, as well as the Velineon VXL-3S ESC. The only 'additional' steps required are 1) removing the end cap on the Velineon motor, and 2) using M3x20mm flathead screws, along with two ME Nylock nuts, to hold the ESC in place. For an example of how to do the swap, check out the CZcams video by Ricotta (Driftomaniacs), as he did the same swap (tho, as those who watch his videos know, he did the 'maniac' thing with the gearing).
If anyone plans on running 3S, I'd HIGHLY recommend getting a steel pinion, as the plastic pinion probably won't hold up.
This is currently available at Family Hobby Center. I work there and we have one for sale in black. We also, have tons of other RC stuff from Traxxas and Horizon Hobby. Hope to see you guys here in Naples Florida. Stop on by!
I like the jeep!
Great video review! I just picked up my Traxxas C8 Corvette on Saturday. I HAD to have it, since I also have the REAL C8 Corvette! :)
Oh, both are blue (Elkhart Lake Blue metal flake). The colors are extremely close between the two!
BTW, I just sent you an email with pics of both. :)
That is my goal one day as well. (To buy a Corvette.) I guess a RC one will do for now
NICE
I wish my doorbell would ring like that.
Beautiful car but disappointed its not brushless. If I end up buying one I'll definitely be dropping a mamba x and castle motor in it.
No body clips?!?! thats cool!
nice
What kind of body options will there be with that odd length chassis and proprietary mounting system? I have the same issue with my 4tec snap on 100th anniversary car
Awesome, very informative video. Did you use a drone to do some of the shots.
It’s a good looking car. And it’s not really a bad price. But being an odd size, you need to go through Traxxas for replacement tires and bodies.
paint that screw orange like marker light help it blend in
The body is a must some times the just need 2 reinvented bodys and tires
potential for an 1/8 scale swap Speedcar
Can’t wait to get mine, got a 7700kv ready to drop in it 💪🏾💯…
There’s some motor! lol! Enjoy
@@rcdriver Yes Sir, have the same thing in my 2.0...
@@rcdriver did you notice the issue others are seeing with the rear axles and tires flexing in so much the dog bones are popping out?
How can I keep my tablet dry when you show this with such brilliant lighting and angles? I need to buy more drool cloths…
lol! Harbor Freight has a cheap pack of cloths.
A car like this should be nitro
Are the diff gears steel or zinc?
Hey man, do you think recommend that I should the brushed system for the brushless system? Thanks
Looks good, for a slow car.
Skip past that vxl and find u a 6900 or 7700kv castle set up. Assembling mine tonite to see how it does
What kind of 3d printer do u use? Always love seeing the nice orange color..but been wanting one to try out...whats ur input???
Diffs are a main concern for some cars
What battery is good for this car? I preordered one this week ( I’m new) and I thought it would come with a battery but guess not so what is a good battery for this car? And do all traxxas rc’s not come with a battery?
i only see one problem with the way the body mounts to the chassis, it's proprietary that takes away from some of the customization options like changing body's or using that body on a different RC. or have that got that figured out by making the body mounting setup easily adaptable to other makes and or models of RC cars or trucks?
Whitemigz music no 1
damn it Traxxas! i got no more room on the shelves for another RC and now this?
...time to get more shelves i guess.
It’s a common problem 😂
You will own a corvette some day
Does all Traxxas Vehicles come with an extra pinion gear for the motor I forgot to check the box that I bought I have a stampede 2-wheel drive
torch red, elkhart lake blue metallic and shadow grey metallic
Everything looks great except for the brushed motor/esc, and TQ transmitter/receiver set up. I guess that's one way to force your low end electronics on your customers. They should at least give their customers the option of spending a little more for a brushless system with TQI transmitter/receiver.
Is this built on the same platform as the Snap On 4tec version?
What app are you using to get your speeds? I see a number of youtubers using the same one but dont know what it is.
A fully chargered 2s lipo is 8.4v
I need your opinion. Last summer got the 4tec2.0 brushless. Got a problem. When the car slides into a 180 degree slide pointing the rear end forward, if I apply brake by pushing trigger forward if fails to apply brake and car speeds off in reverse faster. In sport mode . This is after a trigger forward pause. All of my other rc cars doesn't do this. Called traxxas they said it's designed to do that . I disagree.
I have the snap on edition are they the same
Turned my into a brushless with Traxxas electronics, extremely fast , needs a stronger transmitter. 🍺
Just wondering, why did you buy the overpriced traxxas electronics?
@@adtjtjdjsj because I have had very good results in the past , also because all electronics are a crap shoot no matter who makes them 🤔
I have a question 2.0 and 3.0 are the same size what's the difference
Does it only take 2s lipo and not 3s???
How do you film that? You got a camera on a chase car? Nice video!
No just me running around with a GoPro on a pole while driving one handed. It’s how I get my exercise in 😂
i see 6s in mine when i get it soon im also getting the blue one
Blue is an excellent choice. 😎
@@rcdriver i just got mine yesterday plenty of room for my 2600kv system out of my 4tec2.0
It looks great. I think it's overpriced and needs brushless through. Looks like the 4s power system from the maxx might fit?
Agreed on the pricing but nothing is going to get cheaper these days
It might be actually licensed by Chevrolet bringing the price up
@@thefriendlyteenager726 What do you mean "might be"? It is licensed by chevy.
I put a castle copperhead 3200kv combo in mine. It’s great now
@@gasolinediesel972 ok I wasn’t sure 😣
I have a traxxas 3s vxl system. If I were to upgrade one of these to brushless. Would I need anything else?
You won't need anything else
👍
And does it really make much of a difference
We need to see a comparison size vs the x01
Unfortunately I don’t have an X01 anymore. 😕
The x01 is significantly larger. The x01 is the 4th largest traxxas vehicle behind the erevo, udr, and xmaxx.
@@gasolinediesel972 I still want to see a size comparison at some point, I’m wondering if traxxas will come out with a brushless one to replace or rival the xo1 at some point, maybe with a maxx motor on 4s.
@@mavsgarage5245 They probably will make a brushless one, but it won't rival the x01. The x01 is in a whole different class. I think they'll probably come out with an x01 2.0 at some point. The maxx motor would definitely fit but I don't know about the esc. The vxl4s is the same size as the vxl6s and vxl8s. I doubt that they'll do a 4s version unfortunately. I wish they did though. That would easily hit 100 mph on the speed gearing.
@@PigglyWigglyDeluxe The vxl3s 4tec does 70 mph out of the box. The 4s will do 100 without a sweat. Not just because the 4s system is more powerful, but because it can handle more weight, and it can handle higher gearing. There is more to speed than just power. There is weight, aerodynamics, gearing, ect. The limitless weighs much more than the 4tec does. A brushed 2s power system is going to be weaker than a brushless 2s system. You don't need 800 hp to hit 200 mph in a car. The dodge challenger scat pack which is a fat boat with 485 hp does about 180 mph. A 4s 4tec with high gearing is going to hit 100 mph very easily. If your 8s limitless struggles to hit 100 mph then you need to gear it up and make some aerodynamic changes. 8s is more than enough to move that car to over 100 mph. Hell, even 6s would be enough.
today corvettee tomorrow nissan gt,r so what next l😂l.. we want mitsubishi lancer evo or subaru impreza
good video bud have a good day😄
I was a Mitsu guy. Wish they would bring back the Eclipse. The real Eclipse. Not that family wagon turd they’re slapping the badge on nowadays.
@@rcdriver i agree bud that what's up👍
4me the best rc from traxxas its the summit he king of the crawlers
well thx again pal .. cheers.🍺
How fast is it
Wish Traxxas would release one without the electronics
Your cars color is “laguna blue tint coat” the red I believe is “garnet red tint coat I forget the silvers name
It looks really nice, but I see what Traxxas is doing.. They make the chassis longer than all the other 10th scale touring cars, so that we’re forced to use Traxxas only bodies. Then they make the wheels larger than standard so that we have to replace them with more Traxxas brand wheels and tires only... 🧐🧐
I got the Snap-on version of this in a trade for a crawler. Fun fact, the Snap-on version comes with a battery, charger and the LED light kit... Needless to say though, I won't be running it with the Snap-on body...
Yeah, I wouldn’t even take the plastic off that body! 😄
@@rcdriver Nope, still on sitting on the shelf so I can be reminded that Traxxas needs to hurry up and release the bodies already! LOL
@@MatthewJorgensen1968 What battery and charger did it come with? The base nimh battery and charger?
@@gasolinediesel972 Yes. Just the basic NiMh to get you up and running...
@@MatthewJorgensen1968 Oh. I was thinking that maybe because it's a special edition that it would come with a lipo and a decent charger
🤦♂️ first traxxas and didnt even run it outside servo makes a malfunction noise when i slightly turn the wheel is it supposed to be doing that
Bro I really wanted this for my birthday last year and this video came out 3 days later and I never got that car😢😭😢😭
Ouch, $330 for brushed!? Sounds like Traxxas wants us to pay for licensing the Corvette body while putting antiquated electronics in it. The body does look nice though. I like the concept of no more body pins but it looks like Traxxas doesn't allow other bodies to be used since the clip on body is unique.
Thx for doing a speed run btw! The box says 30+MPH? Typical Traxxas marketing unrealistic MPH claims that aren't typical. Traxxas must do their speed runs on a downhill slope, lol!
And do the mod one gear swap
Compared to 2.0 this doesnt have those adjustable body mounts i see. Thats a bummer.
It so aggravating when rocks git stuck in it
What wall mounts do you use to hang ur cars?
I’m running out of room! I need some wall mounts! Lol
The stuff on the wall is a slatwall system I got from a slot car track that closed down. Sorry don’t know the brand. For the wire racks, there’s a link in the video description for a place that has a bunch.
@@rcdriver thanks heaps champ
Red Cat could never...
As much as I like the "no body posts", doesn't look like there's any adjust-ability to them. Maybe I'm wrong, but that wouldn't work for me.
Agree. I’m also concerned about the longevity of the clips themselves. Being integrated with the body I can imagine replacement is more expensive than traditional posts/clips.
I’m buying the black one but man they are pricey
Make a video and show all the cars
Going to be my next Rc could do without the Traxxas +$100 👍🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I know right, I'm very respectful where I go,,,get kicked out all the time 😂
I don't get why all these manufacturers are releasing these $320 brushed road cars... Arrma would kill it if they decided to release a road car version of the Typhon 3s at $320.
