These people are true warriors I watched my mother battle cancer three different times and won but now she says she’s done. She is in her 80s and I respect that. I truly respect them all.
She decided intelligently to die. I admire her courage and conviction. She broke my heart. But she is resolute and states her case. She is preaching to the choir. Sweetest of ladies......go in peace

Academics become very self absorbed. Writing a thesis is very isolating. This really makes sense.. I loved this interview. What a brilliant mind. I agree with the right to leave earth at your chosen time.
This is one of the most profound learning experiences I've ever had -- learning from a sharp, brilliant, and self-aware intellectual who had the courage to live and end her life the way she thought it should be, so uncompromising, unsullied by this world's superficialities and pretensions and banalities. She and her mother must be two of the world's most caring, most empathetic women.
Fierce Self Compassion! What a beautiful, thoughtful, deep, rich, dialogue between these two individuals. So powerful. This video should be an option for every college student, perhaps high school students. She taught about life and death until her last breath. What a tremendous gift to anyone who listens! In the US, it’s still not legal in most states.
She is so sweet and i would love to agree with u but living a good moral life alone cannot let you rest in peace read these scripture john14:6,galation2:16 john3:16-18
What a graceful intelligent lady. RIP. I would have loved to spend time with her to discuss philosophy. What a beautiful mind. I respect her decision to end her life on her terms while she can make that decision. She's lived a full life.
We are all admiring this amazing women, so I think you have a very valid point, he certainly is an empathetic, compassionate Dr and as an NHS manager now (ex nurse/midwife) some of our UK junior Drs could learn a great deal. He listens.
I would have loved to have the opportunity to meet this woman and have long conversation with. I so agree with her. It absolutely I feel should be a personal choice. R.i.p. sweet soul
This lady exemplifies how I hope I facing impending death and how I desperately hope my government in Australia allows me to die when the time comes over the next decade or so (I have a severe chronic illness). I’m so glad she got to leave this planet in peace.
She is such an incredible intelligent woman. I can tell that she is a fighter, but she also is facing the cold hard facts of her situation. I admire her logical thinking and reasoning. She wants to die with her dignity and with a sound mind. May you rest in peace sweet lady. ❤
This interview was a very naked look at a subject that is charged with emotion. I am deeply saddened that some people have chosen this as their personal forum for the rants that can be found all over the internet. I don't care what your political beliefs are, or your personal views/beliefs about a supreme being. This is not the place! This woman opened her heart and her innermost private thoughts to us and we should show some courtesy, compassion, and respect - or say nothing at all. Whether or not I agree with her choice to end her life on her terms, it IS HER life and HER decision. I believe I understand why she had chosen to end her life when she did, and I admire her clarity of thought and logical reasoning for doing so. I hope, dear lady, that you found the freedom and joy you once knew as a mortal being. I do believe in life after death and hope we will meet some day.
I am 82 and I think God that I’m still active and healthy. But we all at this age have body pain. She is so intelligent and well spoken. I agree that we all should have the right to decide when we want to end our life if that is our chose. She is so close to the end with no family and she is ready to go. She has gone thru so much to save her life and has so much wrong with her, nothing is working. Help her please.
What a fascinating life this lady has had,so so intelligent beyond words, cancer seems to make the best ppl suffer the worst and the longest.I would love to have conversed with her,rip my lovely x
What an incredibly gracious Lady .. This was such a privilege to 'spend time' with her especially after seven years since she left this earth. When she said on her ideas of Faith, 'I think this is the end of me', if only she had realised that even seven years after her death her words, beauty and exceptional dignity were resonating with such a tour de force of remarkability. Thank you ((❤))
What a brilliant, academic life she has had. She is so soft spoken and gentle. She is so sharp and cognitively intact. This is someone I would have loved to just sit down and listen to her life story and life advice. RIP princess.
She is a very intelligent amazing woman who has some much class & grave even at this time in her life. I love how the Dr lets her speak and does not interrupt her while she is answering his questions. She has been through so much and she kept going until she could no longer teach. She is a very dedicated teacher and I hope that they appreciated her for that.
Who could argue against assisted suicide after watching this video. If people have their own faculties it is their decision on how they leave this planet. How dare somebody deprive someone to have a peaceful passing with dignity.
What a brilliant and lovely lady. RIP I've supported medical aid in dying ever since I watched my dad suffer a prolonged illness before his death. Like she said, if he were a dog, you could put him down.
I have SUCH RESPECT for the Canadian government to allow one to make their own choice. GOD knows the United States is pitiful when it comes to this issue.
EVERY person, in EVERY STATE & COUNTRY should have the personal right to make the decision this woman has made! She wants to die on HER own terms, NOT the dictoral government's. She wants to die with dignity, what is left of her cognitive memory and HER personal CHOICES! This woman is total class, very educated and has it all together. Her wishes should be honored, EVERYONE should have that personal CHOICE, as animals do. WHY are humans not allowed to???
