    Thanks for the tips, the one about choosing the channel crossfader in order to avoid cutting the effect is super useful 🙏

    Wow thank you for this video!! I’ve always been a vinyl queen but have finally got my new set up, CDJ-2000 nxs with the DJM-750....have been struggling with the effects a lot, especially the delay and echo. I didn’t even know about settings the tempo for the effect. Would explain my struggles. This tutorial has literally changed my life! 😆

    I'm about 2 years late on this comment so I'm sure many of you watching know this, but I've also discovered that if you apply the delay level depth to about 1 o'clock, you can also use the up fader in the same motion as you would if you were doing a post-fader echo out. It would be an up down motion with the fader. It sounds pretty much identical. Seems like the post-fader also applies to the delay. However, I'm not sure if that's possible with the post-cross fader. Hope that made sense.

  • @MrFullyCharged

    So you just defined a "session tempo" to the tempo-based FX module, which remains in place regardless of the tempo-destination knob, correct?

    • @MrFullyCharged
      @MrFullyCharged Před 6 lety

      I ask specifically because I have the Denon Prime setup (X1800 and dual SC5000s) and cannot do as stated in the manual to "define a session tempo for the fx", which is really breaking my heart! It makes mixed-genre and mixed-source sessions impossible for the fx module to appropriately process.

    If your playing a track that is say 80bpm and the next track you want to play is 120bpm can you set the echo to 120bpm on the track that is playing at 80bpm ? This would be great if you can as thinking about buying Djm 750 Thanks!

    • @davidlogan8905
      @davidlogan8905 Před 6 lety

      In this particular example, you probably could do it. Setting the echo to 5/8 or 6/8 can produce some funky effects - kind of like the 3/4 beat tempo and the 1/1 beat tempo brought together. So in your example, since 120bpm is 1 and 1/2 times 80 bpm, you could set the effect to 120bpm and at 1/1 beat tempo, and this would produce (in the 80 bpm track) an effect of 6/8 beat tempo. It could get messy, so you would probably have to choose your tracks and moments wisely.

    Hi moe, needing to connect the rmx 500 to the djm 450,,, was under the impression I could do this with the top USB input send/return. It's not working

    • @lustforlow-end6022
      @lustforlow-end6022 Před 3 lety +1

      Just go over the master output via rca. My DJM400 doesn’t have send/return so that’s what I had to do & it works well. Go master out rca to send on rmx, then return on rmx to your speakers 👍

    Hi.... I've just bought a DJM-700 and was experimenting with this roll feature. I'm confused!!! After creating a 8/1 roll sample, when i assign the roll back to a channel, i cannot use the 3 band equaliser on that roll sample! I would really like to create a loop and be able to use the 3 band equaliser on it. Am i doing something wrong? I hope you can reply to my question, it will be very much appreciated. Cheers, Andy

    • @maranezzi21
      @maranezzi21 Před 7 lety

      on djm 800 you can't use equliser on loop (roll), so i think it is the same on your mixer. But it really sucks not being able to eq the loop!!!!!

    • @davidlogan8905
      @davidlogan8905 Před 7 lety

      You could kind of split the difference between the sample and the main track, if layering like that is something you think would sound good. Just set the roll effect depth around, say, 8-10 o' clock and EQ the track as per usual. You can also use the colour FX here to create some nice layered combinations.

    • @davidlogan8905
      @davidlogan8905 Před 7 lety

      Also, it's a good idea to use the decimal feature mentioned in the video when creating roll effects that long (4/1 or 8/1). Some BPMs are not entirely accurate loops. So, for example, 134 BPM roll will not match up with a track playing at 134. The DJM automatically sets it to 134.2, but even 134.0 won't be right. In this event you will need 133.9 BPM to create a perfect loop.
