Andrew Marlin is a treasure. Truly. Love him with all of my being. Peace and love all.
Totally agree. The world is sleeping on Andrew Marlin. Hell, everyone on that stage - Christian, Jordan, and Paul for sure. Generational talents all.
this was such a night.
Magic still happens
Such a wonderful song I can't get it out of my head I keep coming back and listening again and again..🤘 music you can appreciate.
Magic is highly probable when you assemble four such magicians. The best, beautifully recorded.
I was at this festival in the 80's and watching the Tony Rice Unit. He played this song, which I didn't know was Norman Blake at the time. Here I was in this big crowd crying because the song was so sad and beautiful. Had remained a favorite over the years.
Fantastic. Thank you.
You are more than welcome t! What a scene.
Norman Blake tunes are perfect for andrew
magic..... thanks for video!
That was wonderful.
Emotional I will say Jeff.
Lovely, and beautifully recorded and mixed.
Glad you enjoyed!
I am a licensed Blakeologist and can certify that I prefer this 78% over the original recording. No disrespect to Norman Blake intended ever.
Billy Gray rode into Gantry
way back in '83,
There he did meet young Sarah McRae
And the wild rose of morning,
that pale flower dawning,
a herald of springtime in Billy's life that day
Well Sarah, she could not see
the daylight of reality;
In her young eyes Billy bore not a flaw
Not knowing that her chosen one,
he was a hired gun
Wanted in Kansas City by the law
Well then one day a tall man
came riding 'cross the Badlands
Lie to the north of old New Mexico
He was overheard to say
he was looking for a Bill Gray,
Ruthless man and a dangerous outlaw
Well the deadly news came creeping
to Billy Gray fast sleeping,
There in the Clarendon Bar and Hotel
So he fled towards the old church
laid by on the outskirts
Thinking he'd climb the old steeple bell
But a rifle ball came flying,
face down he lay dying
There in the dust
of the road where he fell
And Sarah she ran to him,
just cursing the lawman
Accepting no reason,
just knowing he'd been killed
Now Sarah lives in that same old
white frame house
Where she first met Billy
some forty years ago
And the wild rose of morning
has faded with the dawning
Of each day of sorrow
the long years have sown
But written on a stone
where the dusty winds have long blown
Eighteen words to this passing world say:
"True love knows no season,
no rhyme, no reason.
Justice is cold
as the Granger County clay."
True love knows no season,
no rhyme, no reason
Justice is cold
as the Granger County clay.
Beautiful ...BLUEGRASS 🎵 🇺🇸. Nothing better than real traditional American music.
Thank you for posting this! I've been waiting for this set to be online since GMBR!
Our pleasure!
So good! 💪
Wonderful! Thank you
Now that was SWEET!
Well done fellers
I love the old Planxty version. It’s hard to beat Christy Moore.
