I really appreciate your calm sit down style of videos.
I’d just like to say that I am OBSESSED with your motherhood/pregnancy videos. I have been searching and searching for motherhood vlogs that I connect with and I haven’t had any luck until now. My pregnancy is almost identical to your second one (symptom/feelings wise) and everything you say speaks to me so much. You have been informative, realistic and down to earth. Thank you so much!!
Yay! So happy I get to watch these videos:) taking notes 📝 #18weeks
When I was pregnant with my 2nd, I used maternity shape wear with my dresses to support belly in trimester 2 and 3. I workouted through entire pregnancy so workout wear was a must for me. ASOS has the most amazing maternity section. For mommas looking to save money they also have an maternity outlet. The dress I wore for my babyshower was gorgeous and only 13.00.
Love the pregnancy pillow! It has been extremely helpful for me.
Congratulations Susan! I am at a similar stage with my second pregnancy also. Your suggestions rang true with me. One additional one I have for very bad heartburn is Ranitidine (that’s the name of it in the UK anyway). It’s prescribed rather than over the counter but is very safe and it works like a charm when Tums/Rennies aren’t cutting it anymore!
1st time dad too be here, I am so grateful for your channel. My wife is in her 2nd trimester so we are ramping up shopping now.
Thank you so much for these resources! Just ordered my pillow and belly bands 🤗
Love all your tips! Thanks for sharing! xx
I freaking looove the ritual vitamins and the lemon scent/flavor!
Yes please do a postpartum stretch mark talk!
I finally bought maternity jeans around 7 months. They were on sale at Kohls for $15. For the time I used them, I was looking for a good deal more than the best quality ever.
i LOVE the lively bra's. got them during my 2nd trimester and am nursing now. theyre fantastic, super comfy and really cute. Target sells some really great affordable maternity jeans and leggings as well if you're on a budget or id recommend hitting up Poshmark for gently used maternity clothing if you dont wanna shell out $$ on full priced looks.
I'm so glad I found your channel!!
Thanks, Susan! I'm 20 + 1 with my first and clueless on things that would be helpful!
The metalic taste in your mouth is often caused by the vitamins- sometimes taking it at night instead of the morning can help too!
Yes sour candy is life especially when my mouth has this extremely weird taste love love love
Heartburn is real in the third trimester. And my daughter had a lot of hair when she was born - so it is true!! I also was taking tums during the day and Mylanta at night. And I had heartburn after pastries for some reason.
Yes! Sour candy is where it’s at!
I lived in leggings throughout my entire pregnancy. Comfort + Style = HAPPY MOMMY :)
Thanks for sharing! Just some suggestions during pregnancy or breastfeeding...
1. Heartburn- try drinking cold almond milk. It gave me immediate relief but I also carried Tums in my purse if I couldn’t get my hands on a cold glass of AM. Avoid acidic food like tomato, pasta sauce, etc. Sleep at an angle instead of flat (use pillows to prop you up a bit).
2. Metal taste in mouth- your body at the moment could be iron deficient so try to consume a lot of dark leafy green vegetables like spinach, kale, etc.
3. Target has cute maternity clothing essentials at a cheaper (sometimes) price.
4. Nausea- Getting fresh air ( I would literally stick my head out of the car window or put my face right up to the open window at home hehe) doing breathing exercises, & always carrying healthy snacks in my purse seemed to help my nausea. I had snacks with me everywhere...on my nightstand, on the coffee table, purse, car, etc.
*Of course consult your OB/GYN beforehand 🙂👶🏻
I think stretch marks are beautiful. I love mine and don't plan on trying to change it. My husband loves them, too. 😊 Of course, I'll use body butter and lotion to help keep my skin moisturized.
I swore by the Preggy Drop hard sour candies from Amazon. Saved me from the day-long queasiness.
It’s advised not to drink peppermint tea when pregnant. Especially in the first trimester as it can cause a miss carriage.
Preferable take ginger tea.
37 weeks today, thank the lord I didn’t have any heart burn. But the first two trimesters my hg was so bad! I lost almost 30 pounds being sick literally 24/7. If anyone else is going through that ask for the “nausea gel” from your dr. It saved my life and I was very mad they didn’t prescribe it earlier in my pregnancy. You just rub it on your wrists, but it actually works I promise.
The one thing that I couldn't live without during my pregnancy was the pregnancy pillow.. It's sooo comfy !!
Can you do a dedicated video on hyperpigmentation on black woman and also explain more how we should take care of our skin to not burn and get darker. (You talked about it a little while you were doing Jackie's reaction skin care video and want more info)
34 weeks pregnant at the moment. Wish I had gotten the wedge. I'm also wearing nursing bras as I grew out of my regular bras.
Can’t wait for the little babe to arrive!
My doc advised against using essential oils topically while pregnant. She said to diffuse them only (even if it's in a diluted solution that's skinsafe). The concern is more about the effects on the fetus, through your bloodstream, than skin irritations per say.
I've been watching your channel since I started ttc, got my first faint positive today! can't wait to rewatch all your videos now
That something is hormonal fluctuations that cause headaches and migraines. If you ever experienced the lot of your headaches just prior to your period pre-pregnancy, it is for the same reason (hormonal fluctuations)
Posting from my husbands account 😂 but please do a video on treating stretch marks AFTER pregnancy please ❤️
I get stretch marks just from existing lol now that I'm pregnant I don't even try to prevent them. I moisturize just because it feels nice hahaha
Hi Susan, my husband got me a Cozy Bump Pregnany Pillow from Amazon, and it was my favorite. I used it almost everyday to take some pressure off my back. He would give me massages or crack my mid back. I would definitely recommend trying it out if you want to lay on your stomach. Just a helpful tip if you do end up getting it, use the swaddle that is included over the hole before laying down. This will help cradle your bump. :)
hello, i love this video it’s so informative ♥️♥️ i am a first time mama! what size did you get for the belly band?! the beige one
I had morning sickness really, really bad from 6-12 weeks. I had a uti at some point which may have been the problem but nothing could stop my nausea.
I'm not pregnant (yet), but I have scoliosis which causes back pain. Turns out, maternity pillows are great for taking the pressure off when I'm laying down! XD I told my husband it's an investment.
Never been pregnant and had a hysterectomy at age 37, but peppermint oil is life. I have fibromyalgia, and can't say enough good things about peppermint oil.
Ghada A , I use it straight and use it topically. If you are trying to ingest essential oils you have to research whether your oil can be ingested and what they recommend to dilute it with.
I use peppermint oil for nausea, headaches, sinus pressure, neck pain and muscle tension in the neck, and motion sickness. I go through peppermint oil like crazy. I keep a roll on bottle by my bed and in my car.
I'm loving sour belts too 🤤
Hmm regarding nursing bras I waited till 3rd trimester because my boobs changed during the last weeks of the pregnancy. Had I bought bras in my 2nd trimester they wouldn't have been the right fit. But this is just me. Could be different for others :) love your channel. Looking forward to the videos on body skin care and treating stretch marks postpartum. Xo 😘
Mai Le aawww it's ok hon. Maybe after a few months postpartum it could fit you. Breast sizes will change depending on how long you nurse your baby and when you stop. So go ahead and keep the bras that don't fit you now at back of your closet. Xo 😘
Hey, do you have a current promo code for the ritual vitamin? I wanted to try it out but the one listed is showing as invalid. Thanks for sharing all these tips though!
Im on second trimester too!!! Thanks a lot
Lemon oil is the only thing that helped me when I had heartburn.
Please make that video later about treating stretch marks! I'm 35 weeks pregnant and have more "stripes" than a tiger 😩
I still use my snoogle every night!
For me first trimester was all about salads with a squeeze of lemon and salt, veggies with a squeeze lemon, loooooots of lemon juice!! 😂😂😂 I guess there is something in having something sour!
I ordered the peppermint oil and on the package it says not to use while pregnant 🙃
According to my naturopath peppermint is not recommended in the first trimester because peppermint can cause contractions which has been linked to miscarriage but that is in really high doses.
Thank you for this video. I purchased almost all of the things you have mentioned and I tried to use your code for the vitamin but it didn’t work 😕. P.s love you 😘
The shea moisture contains vitamin A.. is vitamin A safe during pregnancy?
I cant live without my pregnancy pillow, it took me a month to get it right for me but now its the only reason Im not in tears every night from not being able to sleep.
I’m trying to get one, but there are many options out there. Can you tell me which one really works? Thanks ;)
16 weeks pregnant and I had sour skittles for my nausea and sickness.
I subscribed to you today because your video was so helpful during my first baby I’m about to be 15 weeks pregnant due date 10.10.21 thank You 🙏🏽
Your promo code for ritual vitamins is not working :(
I would love to know about your maternity bra choices. First time min & totally lost lol
I didn't have hart burn just hickups and my children had alot of hair. My Puerto Rican mother in law wanted me to shave their hair but I didn't do this with the girls but I did let my husband do it with our sun. Did anyone do this with their baby?
Susan, where is your necklace from? It's so pretty! I see you wear it often. I love it!
Huh. Peppermint actually GIVES me a headache. Wish it worked for me!
Peppermint? Was told by OB peppermint can cause miscarriage in first trimester. Scared me bc I drank a lot of it BEFORE he told me that!
Thank you for the tips! For pregnancy pillow, I recommend the bbhugme. It is amazing! It is pricey, but because it is multifunctional (it can also be used for nursing and as a baby pod), at the end it is worth the investment. It is particularly good for those that have limited storage space and don't want to have all these different pillows - it comes with a bag that can be easily stored.
Hey..if you still have the pregnancy pillow and you don't need.. please give it to me
Water bottle with a straw is a must have
Hi aunty
Susan
So funny how different things work for different people. I developed an aversion to anything minty: tea, oil, gum... My go-to has been ginger tea
Me too!! I can't have any minty or peppermint flavored. Toothpaste and mouthwash makes me want to vomit just because of that flavour, so weird.
Metallic/sour taste FOR ME means i'm dehydrated lol
Try bravado maternity /breastfeeding bras... comfortable and looks good! They were the best for me!
I’m 15 weeks and I can’t even keep water down, gotta drink gator aid but it gives me heartburn lol sucks like I’m allergic to my own body while pregnant.
idk if they still have mom bars? it was a really yummy granola protein bar. great for on the go. i used to love them but this was back in 2007 O__O
Prenatal vitamins..... I feel like a bad mamma but I just can't stomach them this week. I've had gastro and prenatals give me serious wind and nausea and I just couldn't hack it on top. Serious mamma guilt. Only 11 weeks so know its important. You've inspired me to go look for new ones that might not upset my stomach as much. 😣
miss tatty I feel you! It’s hard to take them during the first trimester when you’re nauseous. That’s one of the reasons I like these. They have a light citrus scent that helps!
@@SusanYara thank you I'm going to look to see if I can get them in France. Thank you for your veryuch appreciated advice.
Hey there - my doc said as long as I keep taking my folic acid then I'm all good. I only started vitamins after 12 weeks - just drank folic acid from before pregnancy all the way through. Some people also suggest trying the vitamins at night to avoid severe nausea that they can add to. Best of luck mamma! Xxx
@@LuckyNumber7 I was taking folic acid and eating super healthy but the vitamins were for holidays to cover both, they honestly set my nausea off so bad. Fc also gives me the worst wind! It's painful but I power through. Unfortunately, just after this comment I lost my baby. So now I'm back the prep folic acid. It is getting better though! I noticed my stomachs alot better with the change of brand.
@@misstatty3455 ah no!!! 🙈🙈🙈 I'm so sorry to hear that!!! Silver lining, you try your utmost best every single day by keeping healthy and taking the tablets (even when you feel awful after taking them). You could be drinking/ taking drugs/ unaware of your pregnancy etc. You are doing your best mamma - and all of us are supporting you and rooting for you 💜
Did you end up having Gestational Diabetes? Kind of sounds like the symptoms you are explaining are similar to the symptoms for GDM.
I’ve heard controversy on drinking herbal teas, especially peppermint, in excess while pregnant. I’d definitely advise talking to your dr about any home remedy you want to use while pregnant.
I do know for me specifically, eating to many peppermints actually dried up my milk and I could not breastfeed for long. I LOVE peppermints and I ate tooo many. I had no clue that Peppermint is actually a suggested herb that aids in drying up breastmilk. So I am staying away from it all together this go round.
For me, an essential in this third pregnancy specifically has been bigger panties! 😂 For whatever reason my butt and thighs have just become huge this time around and I had to go up two sizes to be comfortable and not feel like the circulation to my legs was being cut off, haha!
I would switch to using spearmint instead of peppermint in your pregnancy. I was told by an aromatherapist that there has been some studies that has shown that peppermint might not be good for baby in utero so if you want some sort of mint spearmint is safe.
This is true. When I used peppermint or tea tree oil my baby kicked me. She hated it. I think the scent was to much for her. I stopped right away
The promo code for the prenatals doesn’t work.
I just bought the peppermint you recommend in the description- it says if your pregnant don’t use. That was disappointing.
I have that pregnancy pillow and now that I have my baby I don’t know if I should give it away or keep it. If I do keep I’m clue less on how I can store it
Did you know peppermint tea induces heartburn!? I too loved peppermint tea while pregnant, and I too had a baby with a full head of hair! I had to limit my peppermint tea towards the end because my heartburn was so bad! :-(
I haven't had any bad morning sickness at all and I'm 17 weeks! Am I just lucky? 🤔🤔 hopefully I don't jinx this
Congrats! When I was pregnant I had 0 morning sickness as well. Enjoy it because every pregnancy is different!good luck with the rest of your pregnancy 🖤
Hi Susan! I have a quick question. Are you taking baby aspirin during your pregnancy? I’ve never been pregnant and will be 35 at the time of delivery. I have hypothyroidism and did Ivf. I’m a healthy weight. My ob is recommending this to prevent preeclampsia, saying I’m higher risk because of my age, thyroid, and Ivf. I was wondering if this was something your doctor was worried about.
alexiax obrien Hi! I don’t (didn’t for last one either) and actually haven’t heard of it. Good luck and congrats!
This video is so interesting. I’m 5+ months pregnant and none of this is relevant to me. Just shows how unique we all are whether we are pregnant or not.
It’s nice to hear “women” and not “people”
Peppermint can cause depletion in breastfeeding and can cause issues with supply. Just for anyone considering using it make sure you are willing to risk it.
your Ritual code isn't working!
They say you dont need folate on last trimester so i just took some on 1 trimester and i stopped later on
Why is the camera angle changing every 2 seconds?
So, I've been eating fully-cooked organic eggs every day (I'm 6 weeks) and I didn't realize they were unpasteurized. All my general OBGYN said was "There's nothing we can do now. Just tell your pregnancy OBGYN when you start with them. They won't see me until next month because of COVID and won't give any medical advice until my first appointment. Can anyone tell me how bad I messed up? Can it cause any developmental issues with the baby? I've been trying so hard to be so careful about what I'm eating and I can't believe I did this. I didn't know :(
The only issue with eating unpasteurized foods is the risk of getting food poisoning. If you didn’t get food poisoning you are fine.
I got my maternity jeans from Ross for $13… I would not spend more than $20 on maternity jeans lol
Did you keep using these prenatals?
Did you experience any morning sickness or vomiting?
I am 13 weeks pregnant and I’m throwing up non stop to the point where I throw up blood is anyone having this issue and is it normal will it go away. First time mom
tu princesita Sanchez the best advice I can give you is go to the hospital.
I’m almost 14 weeks & had the same issues.Pedialyte and simply lemonade (or harris teeter lemonade if they have in your area) worked wonders for me! Or sometimes ice water with tons of lemons. Hope this helps mama
You can’t take Advil while pregnant? Whaaat *very informative* Not pregnant nor planning to be pregnant any time soon but these are interesting haha(:
There is a theoretical medical risk to the fetus, so it should be avoided. Single studies have shown things like ibuprofen interferes with the descending of testicles & increases the risk of 1st trimester miscarriage. It's probably fine to take on occasion, but people just err on the side of caution. This is my understanding, anyway. Most OB providers give patients a list of meds that are okay to take. You'll know what you should and shouldn't take when your time comes ☺️
@@familyaccount4369 Yeah, I took ibuprofen when my headaches were intolerable; my baby came out perfect.
Are those prenatals good to take before pregnancy like i seen some girls tske pre natals when ttc
My jeans have a belly band attached.. I wear them all the time I just need leggings. Love my pillow
What is your view on vaccinations? Currently struggling to make a choice. It’s so controversial. Really curious to see what you think :)
Cole Koon please vaccinate your children :) I know there is a lot of conflicting information out there but a lot of it is not based in science and is fear mongering. Vaccination is important for combatting disease not just for your children but also the people they interact with like children and adults who have compromised immune systems, like my cousin with cystic fibrosis. My partner is a pediatric doctor and he has to explain to nervous parents all the time that the link between vaccinations and autism and such is not founded in fact through studies that have been frequently peer-reviewed. Yes, sometimes vaccinations for flu can cause a weakened version of the illness they prevent, but that’s because of how they’re made, which you can look up, and that doesn’t result in long term damage. I know it’s scary making health choices for your baby, but protecting them and others against sickness is very important. Have a lovely day!
I know this is a sensitive issue but it PISSES me off! The doctor who published the study linking autism is a quack and admitted he committed fraud in the study! The fact that miserable, painful childhood diseases that were eradicated are back now because of "concerned parents" If you do choose not to vacinnate please inform everywhere your child goes playgroup, mommy and me, church, daycare, preschool, of this fact SO that we concerning parents can make an informed decision about whether we want to expose our child to your child's seriously scary childhood disease vulnerability! My child should not have to serve as a herd immunity scapegoat for your child! I wish all antivaxers would get together and live in their own communities, start their own schools etc...There is very little that pissed me off more! It's not just A PERSONAL PRIVATE choice, you are making that choice for all of us without our consent!
Please tell me what necklace you are wearing 😍
@@evitaevita98 I think it is this www.tiffany.com/jewelry/necklaces-pendants/elsa-peretti-diamonds-by-the-yard-pendant-GRP00437/
Loved this video! I did a similar video on my channel!
I thought stretch marks was caused from scratching? Almost all the women in my family got stretch marks and I made sure to not scratch my belly and I didn't get any however i did scratch my boobs and i got tons of stretch marks on them😬
Veronica Herrejon I think the scratching is because your skin is itchy BECAUSE it’s stretching. As soon as you feel an itch, and hopefully before, lather up with oil.
So, I watch your video, purchase the peppermint oil linked in your description and it comes in the mail and says ON THE BOTTLE, do not use if pregnant. Why would you do that? Why would you promote something and give a link that’s harmful? Really frustrated by that. Not ok.
S SS she shared things that she loves and work for her. It’s your responsibility to read up on anything you use while you are pregnant instead of getting mad at her
Chilu Yumbe it is her responsibility to take the time to say 1 sentence in her video on why doctors also say it’s not safe in your first trimester. Don’t have links to products that ON THE BOTTLE say do not use while pregnant. Of course everyone also researches everything but don’t do a video and provide a link to purchase something that’s harmful. Common sense.
Aaah your must have videos are my absolute favorite!! I love love watching your channel. And a big ups to you and your team for creating good content. The quality of your videos is out of this world! I love it
