- The second season of Tales from Incredible Tales kicks off with a special episode as we are filming on location from Bukit Brown Cemetery in Singapore. In this episode, Ria897 DJ Raihan Yacob and horror creators Kyle Ong and Wayne Rée are joined by Utt - host of the original Incredible Tales for 13 seasons - and creator of the popular CZcams channel True Horror Stories POV Naquah Ayub, as they discuss customs and traditions surround the Hungry Ghost Month.

Living around that area for 30 years and taking evening walks at Bukit Brown Cemetery for many many years usually after 6.30pm. Sometimes we finish almost 7.30pm. Seen and heard all kinds of "things". But just walk on. During the construction of the expressway workers were astounded that my hubby and I dare to walk during the Chinese Ghost Month and ask are we not scared? But honestly what scared us the most are the snakes and wild boars and they are big! LOL
Respect to all who make this special on location episode possible! Respect to W for being there (knowing his courage)! I think that lunar 7th month has more hantu because of all the offerings to lure them out of hiding 👻
Hanan from the Angker Sisters podcast mentioned that Singapore becomes even creepier compared to other parts of Malaysia when the night falls. I wonder how much more thrilling it gets during the 7th month!
Some of the people who can see say that they don’t really see more ghosts during the 7th month. I think these ghosts just gather around the 7th month celebrations and around the burning of the offerings- which give people the impression that there are more ghosts during that month.

Kyle is correct ... taste different but as not to waste food, so for ancestors prayer at home my family consume the food. When prayer is outside at cemetery or temple, we dispose the food.
Hungry Ghost Month offerings should be consumed on the same day.
Years ago, my sister asked me to take home these offerings saved for dinner but due to busy schedule, I kept them in the fridge.
To my horror, when I opened the fridge the next morning, these food turned charcoal black!!!
To my taste buds, food offered during the 7th Month usually lose a lot of flavor, sometimes a bit sour (from ghost's saliva?)
i think the taste depends on what type of food ... the more perishable foods like bee hoons, cooked foods are more likely to lose its taste after being exposed to air for some time, but snacks, oranges etc taste the same ... thats my experience ...
Also, traditionally chinese usually do not recommend putting chili or hot spices in offering foods for prayers, therefore some may find the foods to taste more bland ...
@@88feji Stall food (chap fan) is also displayed & exposed to air but much longer than food offering (usually 1 hour) for Hungry Ghosts. Yet these food don't lose flavor otherwise no customers!
Ghosts cannot chew, lick or drink physical food but they can suck food flavor & joss stick incense. This is the best explanation for the loss of food flavor.
Same for human's Yang energy which can be sucked!
Actually to what Utt had said, offerings to Deities and ancestors, you can consume those foods but to random unfortunate spirits, don't consume.
2 types of food offerings during Hungry Ghost Month:
1) Food offered @ home to ancestors & @ ceremonial to deities
2) Food offered in the street to Ho Hia Tee (passerby ghosts)
The 1) food you can consume.
What utt was mentioning is the 九皇爷 (nine emperor deity) festival normally took place on the lunar eight month of the 29th day to lunar nine month of the nineth day its to celebrate the deity birthday in order to receieve good karma the devotees will be on vegetarian diet for the whole festival

36:28 I when to vegetarian festival in Phuket 9yrs ago. They have like street food along the road selling all vegetarian food. And I watch they piece sharp objects thru their cheek, Took some photograph and they stand right Infront of me to have a good picture , It was awesome experience. ❤

I thought the spirit consumed the fragrance and not the physical offerings. Correct me if I am wrong. If a spirit passed like suicide and their karma will be like going thru the same experience like for a certain number of year , so everyday till their serve their ‘karma sentence’. -they have to experience the same pain . Just sharing what i leaned. Namaste! Growing up my uncle who is a passionate gambler has a kmt, he claimed that the water he offered get half emptied the next day and any sweets he offered, no ants was spotted where the kmt status sit. My grandma is a Thai national too and growing up, I have kind of experienced or witnessed unexplained stuff.

When I was young, I was told not to step on the burnt marks on the grass but I didn’t believe and stomped on it to prove my point. Then for almost a week, I’ll wake up in the middle of the night because my feet were so itchy. I would scratch so hard and when I turned on the lights to see if there’s any rashes, nothing. Feet just itch for no reason.

Food offerings can be eaten. In Singapore, many people / companies hold praying ceremony, food (e.g. roasted chicken/duck/pork), buffet (curries, fried noodles/rice), fruits, can food items are eaten after the praying session.

Talking about 3rd Eye, I have this ability but not fully formed according to my sifu.
IT's not WYSWYG by naked eyes. Images of entities manifest in my mind's eyes mostly in black + white. And they are more vivid when I closed my eyes.
BUT this ability depends on the entities wanting to manifest or not.
At least it's better than seeing with the naked eye & not sure whether they are humans or hantus / demons.
My other senses include feeling, hearing, smelling & peripheral vision, metaphorical visions from Nature & these heightened as I aged.

The ghosts are squatting at the drains 'eating josssticks' hence we don't jump over the drains. We might disturb them accidentally kick them while having they are having meals.

I have a burning question. Can you all see ghosts during ramadan?
we can still see lah...only the leaders and being tambat. Mostly they are more docile in ramadhan.
According to beliefs, only the demons/devils will be locked up. ghost/spirits or in islamic context, djinn, are still roaming around.
A LOT of MALAY GIRLS have a third eyes that can clearly see them ghost....dont know why lah...usually most of them are descendance of bomoh or dukun but they didnt know it. My cousin also have the eyes and can see stuff like that but she go remove it after she got married cuz dont want to pengsan a lot every time she saw those stuff. xD.

I hope that the muslims in this video, is just showing respect towards the other religions. If they do believe what they are spouting, they really need to get their religious understanding in check.
