Hi, I'm learning how to edit, sorry if this is a dumb question but how do I apply this knowledge to a video? I edit the video for example in Premiere and when I want to add text like this I do it in After Effects, import it into Premiere and change the blending mode, would that be the correct way? And if I want to apply it to subtitles using it on certain words that I would like with this effect, would it be the same way or is there a faster way? Would it be something like the intro, that you applied it to subtitles, did you edit the intro video only with After Effects or did you do it in conjunction with Premiere?
It really depends on what you're trying to create. Most people tend to use one program at a time, but you can definitely use both. If I were in your shoes, I'd stick with After Effects for shorter videos with lots of effects. For longer videos that only have a few effects, I'd use the "Dynamic Link" feature between After Effects and Premiere. Also, try not to render the text separately, but if you do, I think the AVI format supports a transparent background, though I'm not entirely sure.
