ooh only learned that it's rockhyun after reading the comments. his mid range actually sounds really nicee. im so used to hearing his higher range as he typically took on the higher notes in the unit, and im not the biggest fan of his tone that high, but it sounds so rich in this performance and it's so lovely
Rockhyun did really well omg! I didn't know he could sound the way he did when singing with his lower pitch, he sounded great! And she's really good so I could see how the male's lower parts could be secondary in the judges minds, even if he sounded great ~ She's good!

Rokhyun did so great but you can hear he isn't pushing just so he doesn't cover her voice. Really, singing alone he can be much louder, but he didn't here, purposely. It's not like he can't handle those notes, but the original song feats McGregor's voice range, not someone as versatile as a singer as Rokhyun. For example he pushes much more on 100%'s song Better Days even on live performance and easily at that. He didn't put his all from a competition point of view, because is all comes with such a fondness for other people.
What I see here is Rokhyun dueting and his partner competing. It's kind of his fault, but he's just so warm hearted, such a kind soul, he can't compete for his life. He did much more of a leader/teacher's job than a contestant's role when on the Unit. He was crowned BEST SINGER out of all trainees. Because he was alone and trainees voted with ears and soul since he already touched them with his kindness before they solely judged his singing. But in a group or duet he always let others shine brighter than him. This shows how much of a kind person he is. So hard working, so talented, but too nice for kpop mechanism.
It's okay Rokhyun-ah, your family, members included, and your fans are proud, so so so proud of you. And I bet our Minwoo is too.

you explained everything so well! and you are perfectly right! but Rockhyun showed that he is very stable when he sings on low tone as well. to be honest, i never heard him sing this low and also stable, so for me, as a fan, this is amazing! because i know how high he can go ☝

I did because I'm pretty sure when mentioning he auditioned for the show 3 years ago Rokhyun thought that even if he's thankful for the opportunity now, he regrets that his leader could never see him go. And as I described Rokhyun being such a kind soul, I couldn't help but remember Minwoo was the competitor of the team, the one who fought so hard for his members, against odds, against TM, against their down moods too with his smile. Thus why, in the revealing video, even if they put images of the younger members thanking Rokhyun for promoting Baekpo, never did the show called him "leader". Baekpo's leader is somewhere else. Not there but still leading them all. No one can do it better than him.
I guess it can't be set aside, it's part of my grieving, our grieving, theirs too. Giving him a place to be in our lives even if a single thought hurts.
I have the same birthday as Minwoo, he was just 4 years older. And this whole thing made me cry, and I'm crying again. Let's cry together because we cherished our wonderful leader so much...
