Dialed in perfectly. Amazing Envelope Filter.

The brand new Keeley Neutrino Envelope Filter and Auto-Wah! This funky, tripped-out circuit is something I've wanted to do for over a decade. Reviews have been stellar. Each opto-coupler is tuned to perfection; every Keeley Neutrino is like finding a magical vintage unit with that perfect tone.
The Keeley Neutrino gives you all the classic, funk, auto-wah sounds and that Jerry-In-A-Box sound. We have used the classic opto-coupler design for a rich and warm depth to the effect. Envelope filter sound is an effect triggered by your pick attack or strength. The harder you pick, the harder it "wahs"! Sounds bubble up from a deep rounded warmth to a shinning brilliance. Solo notes are individually expressive based on how hard you play. Create incredible vowel sounds... Can you say "Let's get it on"?!? Chord-work "stabs" sound right out of the disco dictionary, play that funky music white boy!
The Neutrino Envelope Filter has a simple set of controls so you explore a wealth of tones with ease.
There is a Gain control to set the input level to an appropriate strength so that you can trigger the effect with any type of pickups or instrument level. This control is critical. Pick an open string on your guitar and adjust this control until you hear the wah sound rise and fall. Set just right it sounds like a wah pedal rocking back and forth as you play a note.
The peak control is how "sharp" or "warm" the effect is. You can think of this a way to make your wah sounds really mellow or really "quaky"!
The Filter Selector lets you choose between 3 types of filters to carve out different tones and timbers.
The Range Switch adjusts what frequencies are being stressed HI or LO. Easily find your voicing.
A side-mounted Direction Switch allows you to control which direction the wah sound goes. Wah up, wah down!
The Neutrino Envelope Filter is designed to work with bass guitar and keyboards as well. Simply adjust the Gain to get it to trigger the way you want. Then, adjust the Peak control to set how much it "wahs".
Use a Keeley Compressor after your Neutrino to create a wall of lushly filtered tones that really stand out. Then, even with the more delicate sounds of the BandPass or HighPass settings you will be able to improvise with stunning clarity.
Finally a demo that shows what the pedal is like in a reggae situation.
Exceptional playing throughout
Mike you must be either 60 years old to be a master like this --- else a genius ..... we all know the answer.. Hats off...for the phrasing, the range of playing, you are an encyclopaedia of guitar....
Watching all your envelope videos. This might be the one!
I was waiting patiently for a Dead song, and I wasn't disappointed! Great playing, as always.
Thanks for watching!
The sounds starting at 2:23 Can't Get Them Outta My Head. Just sick!
It'a a really great filter
Mike Hermans I'm having a tough time getting sounds that are not to boomy. I'm a Pro Jazzer so I use an archtop with a neck humbucking. My sound is fat to begin with...any suggestions?????
I like this pedal, great Jerry sounds
Seriously your playing made me subscribe
Just gorgeous, just ordered mine after watching this video, it's a shame Keeley's pedals cannot be tried in my little country, Belgium.
Killer demo and awesome playing as usual
Yeah it's a great pedal (and i want it eheh) but man, your playing is absolutely awesome! Great feeling and timing, congratulations
EXCELLENT video dude!!! I’m trying to figure out how to get the right Whah sound but I know it’s in there!!! Thank you!!
The first setting is gold
5:01 on the solo is sick
That was dope..I was groovin
Very impressive auto-wah ... wasn't expecting it sound 'that' good .... well done!! Made me laugh with the 'Superstitous' quote ... lol
i'm really leaning towards the Neutrino. It seems to have to goods. Mind you, there is a technique involved. You just don't click "on" and get instant Fire On The Mountain. I discovered this when i had a Maxon AF-9. Not bad, but had a hard time getting the Jerry tone i want. This one seems to be a little more user friendly as well as versatile.
What sort of technique goes into it?
very fluid and clean ..
funginum Thanks!
Great duck-music!!
Reminds me of The 70's..... Get the Funk out of my face!
great demo!!! im buying!
Gotta have for funk!
Hi Mike Hermans and thanks for your great demo. In the market for the ultimate Envelope Filter. So far, looks like the Funkzilla would fill the bill and then came across this one. Would you advise one over the other? Cheers.
Hi Mike! Great demo! Can you please tell me what's the trick to make low pass filter to open equally for all strings? I can't make Neutrino to open with high E string with moderate gain. And with higher gain E string opens but low strings become always open and don't wah properly. It seems in the video you have no problem with high E string.
Jerry!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, nice playing!!!
Was the overdrive/distortion before or after the neutrino?
Mike, how would you rate the Mad Professor Snow White (which you reviewed some time ago) against this one?
Funky
I have one... it took me a long time to get it to sound like this.... patience...
Where would you put this In your signal chain? FX loop? Or In front? And if in front, where? Thinking of buying this.
First, or very near first... that is the traditional thinking anyway
Not a particularly smooth sweep like the EH Riddle Q Balls I'm afraid!
You make it sound awesome...I just got mine and it sounds like cheap crap. I'm goin' through a Peavey Deuce tube amp and Schecter 7-string Omen with matching Seymour Duncan '59's. 😔😮💨
Have the pedal but still can’t seem to used it the way I want, that is to say to get the sound from the beginning of the video. Mine doesn’t wah at all, no matter what I try to tweak in it. Any help folks?
Put the pedal first in line right after your guitar before going into any other pedal. Maybe you are hitting the input too hard if you have it after a compressor or dirt pedal.
ElectricUrinal oh thanks for the answer my friend!! I’ll give it a try and let you know then.
@@yoan973 - I have the same problem, I can't get it to wah, i tried it using a strat and a humbucker guitar. by neutrino sounds nothing like the demo. I don't have any other pedals connected and it sounds like its inside a tunnel or a walkie talkie with a blown speaker. it sounds terrible. any ideas??
I for one, like cheese. ;-)
Me too! This is my favorite Quack box. Super fat and works perfectly with single coils. Of course works well with Humbuckers and basses...
Mike Hermans I want to buy an envelope filter pedal, but i dont know witch one. Any recomendations? Qtron?
Mike Hermans
You prefer this over the proton?
Megan Hakala I'm curious about this too - looking at both right now, trying to choose.
The Neutrino sounds better than ever, we continue to make it fatter and juicier!
its always a fender................
Do you know what a fender is
do you know what a fender is
Unless Fender now makes Don Grosh, I believe I do
its just fender is to mainstream and they really need to branch out on their woods that they make their guitars from
lol yeah you're making complete sense
Just a little Tweezer in there........
actually you picked some of the best riffs from some greats.Heard some Jerry,Warren, and Trey in there........
I can't believe this is an effect anyone would actually want, but to each their own I guess...
You can't believe anybody would want a wah? Really? I can't believe I just read that. To each their own, I guess
dizzle49er I use a wah pedal, this seems more like something you would use if you played "funk" music... It sounds too much like a synthesizer... But, like you said, to each their own...
@@dizzle49er lol! 😎
Env Filters are the one effect I truly dislike. They just sound so cheesy to me. The only band, IMHO, that has ever used them well is TOOL, which is no surprise since they are freakin musical geniuses. And of course I cant for the life of me figure out how they are using them. All my nonsense aside, this one does sound pretty good as far as Env Filters go. Anyone knows TOOLs tone tricks, Im all ears
I haven't listened to Tool in awhile. Amazing band
Also found a comment that may help achieve that sound "Have you considered any filters/envelope filters with an expression pedal function? That way you can control the speed of the filter sweep!"
+Roger Brennan Wouldn't that essentially make it a wah pedal?
brian patrick agreed, gotta include Garcia his 77-78 stuff
seriously, if you say jerry doesn't qualify to have used an envelope filter correctly or to your liking, you just discredit yourself bro. haha
