I went looking for Darna reactions and this is by far the coolest one, obviously! Amazing that you got to see the episode debut in the mall theater with the cast, and those costumes are fire. (was anyone actually cosplaying as Darna, too?)
Thoughts? Iza and Jane's acting was great. Beautiful Darna costume. OK CGI, not at Marvel level, but I didn't expect it. Good fight sequence. I like that the results of the fight may have 'real world consequences', possibly creating the new Darna's new nemesis (we'll see). And my favorite bit was showing the five Martean alphabet letters on the stone which spell 'Darna'. I hope that becomes available on a T-shirt!
The biggest negative was the terrible comic book art used in the origin intro sequence. The glimpses of Ravelo's own art at the end are top-notch, but whoever drew the Marte stuff did not do a convincing job. It looked amateurish and unfinished. You'd think with several generations of incredible comic book talent in the Philippines they could find an eminent pro artist who could make that comic sequence shine.
Anyway, congratulations on your fantastic Darna premiere experience!
