    I wake up this morning with a heavy smell of Haitian hareng in my bedroom its like my mom came from heaven for a visit . I’m heading to a local store now to get my ingredients. Will definitely eat this today .

      Thanks, your local store may carry canned herring. It’s usually next to the canned salmon & sardines.

    Very different and looks yummy. I’m going to try this, however, going to eat it with rice. Hope thats okay.

    1. So I was wondering if an estimated time to boil the herring can be shared with us?
    2. If it is soaked instead of boiled, how long should it soak in water to reduce the salt content?

      Thanks dear, cook for about 10 minutes or soak for a several hours but I recommend boiling it .

    I have access to the smoked herring in a can . And it don't seem salty enough to boil . Should I skip boiling ?

      I have never had the canned ones but I would say yes!
