Hi guys!! So today we are doing a little milk machine maintenance and monthly cleaning chores, and of course introducing some of our milk queens to y’all as well! 😄
Smelly clothes is the result of hard work and a gutsy young lady who is not afraid to get her hands or clothes dirty doing the job she loves best. Good for you Taylor 👍 way to go young lady. God bless and stay safe to you all. Regards from ireland Patrick Brazil .
Taylor, it’s always so refreshing to watch and listen to your videos. You’re doing a great job and it’s obvious that you sincerely appreciate your duties on the farm. Thanks for sharing a part of your day, Taylor. Stay safe. 🏍🇺🇸🎒
Great to see ladies interested in dairy . I worked on a dairy farm, my folks owned one & I picked up milk for 20 yrs starting with Can milk to bulk. Also was fieldman for large dairy company. Your barn looks clean & bulk room is pretty sanitary. Farmers work hard but dairy farms is the most labor intensive of them all. I hand it to you for being so interested in milking cows especially a young lady. Good for you!!!
As usual, a great video. When I was the farm we didn't have all the sophistication that is in use today. We had 3 milking machines, 40 to 50 milkers, about 1held about 15 large cans to put the milk into, a portable filter that we poured the milk through, and then loaded 8 to 10 cans a day onto the back of a truck and delivered the milk to the creamery. They tested the milk. Then off back to the farm to start our daily chores or get ready to go to school. Fun times. Wouldn't trade that time of my life. Loved every minute of it. God bless and stay safe. Really enjoy your videos.
Morning Taylor, thanks for sharing your morning with us. Hope it doesn't get extremely cold for ya. The Hydroponic plants looking great. Best wishes, Deb
Growing up, we used to have a number of dealers we called cattle jockeys that would stop around regularly. As many as 7-8 men made their living buying and selling cattle or hauling yours to market. Another good video.
I look forward to ur videos!! They r always fun and informative!! Growing up, I was taught the importance of maintaining tools & equipment. "u take care of them...they'll take care of u"
I don’t think it’s strange for a cattle dealer to come by and once a week .. In my opinion that’s a good thing!👍🏻 Keep doing what you do I love watching your videos..👌🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👌🏻
The family dairy farm is becoming a rare thing here in Vermont. We once had more cows than people in our state also. Our state does nothing to incentive family farms. And selling farm land for solar panels is not a pretty site. My wife and I to see Four H exhibitions with kids learning this trade. Do you have any 4H clubs there Tay? Thank you.
You have it easy young lady. When I was 7,8,9 years old, I sat on a stool, with a pail and had to milk the cows by hand. My dad got mad at me one time when he caught me squirting milk from the teet into a cats mouth. He wasn't too pleased with that. The cat liked it, but not my dad. //Thank the Lord we have not created smell-a-vision yet.
Lucy is beautiful. Love those markings. Thank you for the video Taylor. Please be safe and careful. And as always you look amazing. Greetings from Virginia
Very interesting content !! Thank you so much for sharing your journey !!! You have a great mind Miss Taylor, and don't you think anything different !!! I know you are very busy, so please don't feel obligated to respond to any of my comments!!! I know you read them and that is more than enough !!! Stay safe young Lady and God bless you all !!!! Eddy
Once a month we would take the machines apart after the evening milking and let them soak in acid over night then back in in the morning to assemble and replace warn hoses and inflation cups
Hi Taylor another great video and thanks for sharing your routines and your brain with us lol I actually do the same with the calf/cow naming...try to incorporate either something to their personalities that fits them or something that relates to their mothers/sisters name kinda like a theme type deal...I actually find it pretty fun to pick out their names...another perk to the farming life and keeping on farming :) I was just wondering...off topic from this video but I was curious what your milk is used for?...ours is used for cheese making at the Cuba Cheese plant/facility in Cuba,NY. Also I was just curious how that cow was that had the stepped on quarter/mastitis from your last video? Have a great day Taylor and thanks again for the videos...keep on farming and keep on with the keepin on :)
you were talking about cows in the area just got a newsletter from a dairy that rents the land next to me said they are now milking 2500 holstiens and 600 jerseys 3 times a day!! made me wonder how many cows are in maine lol
Here in Wisconsin there is cattle dealers but also sale barns ! I do think there's alot less dealers up here now you got to go to the south part of the state to really find cows and dealers ! How much do your hay bales each way on average and how many do you feed a day? How many acres is your pasture?
Taylor, this may have been asked before but I’ve allways wondered why the Moo Moos always go to the bottom of the hay pile in front of them instead of chomping from the top down. Does that make any sense? I tried to explain it the only way I know how 😊
Hiya Tay, Another wonderful video for us to consume; thank you both for this episode. I loved the reasoning behind the names, from a question mark on, very good, convoluted, but good. Yes, that was Tweety Pie down to the massive toes. I always wondered how long some of the other characters would last against Tweety; maybe Whyle Cyotee? I never could spell, sorry, Dyslexia, and if I could meet the man who named and spelt it like that, I'd throw his coffee away. Talking of coffee, I've just enjoyed a great mug of Columbian strong brew as I watched you. A question, if I may? Why not wash the wall and pipes when the machines are still in the milking area and not in the way? The wall looked loads better after washing it, though. The pipe too. A suggestion for some videos or segments; what is each breed noted for? Mild-mannered, easy milker etc. Understanding more than the very little we already know would be good. Stay safe, Steve...
Hi! Columbian coffee is bliss!😄 I’m not sure why we never think to wash the wall when the machines are gone 🤔☺️ thanks for the video ideas and I hope you have a lovely weekend!!! Thank you!
@@tayfarmsyou are very welcome for the ideas. I just wish coffee and Emeralds were the only things to come from Colombia. That white powder causes so many deaths, pain and heartache. I do love Kenyan coffee too. When I was 3ish, we moved to Kenya for 2.5 years; dad was in the air force. Anyway, I remember a trip to a coffee plantation, watching the picking to washing to laying out to dry. We did not see the roasting as that was done at the factory. So, Kenyan usually has a milder taste but still has good flavour. It's 1 am, and I'm going to make a burger and, naturally, a coffee. Steve...
thinking about your future at the farm. make friends with a banker now to give them time and you time to think about it. have a discussion with Brent. not knowing what the farm is worth and are there family...his...that are interested. could you find help ? we know you know the operation.
I give all farmers a lot of credit for doing tough, dirty, and repetitive work day after day.
Smelly clothes is the result of hard work and a gutsy young lady who is not afraid to get her hands or clothes dirty doing the job she loves best. Good for you Taylor 👍 way to go young lady. God bless and stay safe to you all. Regards from ireland Patrick Brazil .

bacteria in check from the milk.

Yes it is sad how the world has become, our state is also developing many solar “farms” and it is a shame. We do have 4H clubs around us.
