About the SOFTWARE I use in the video:
A huge amount of my production involves Adobe CC (my affiliate link tinyurl.com/v7fvqgo) I use Adobe photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Audition and sometimes Animate. I would be nowhere without these softwares. You can get them all with a comfortable monthly subscription, or you can get subscriptions to individual plans. Check them out and see what works for you.
The main software I'm using to actually animate frame by frame is called TVPaint. Here's more information on that: www.tvpaint.com/
It's a great software :)
And if you need a Graphics tablet, I highly recommend this one for you ballers out there: geni.us/vy8xUZB
It's the best tablet money can buy :)
And here's a great low-low cost alternative: geni.us/LLYv
What you think of clip studio paint for animating ?
@@samuelblackk6106 its pretty fucking good,
Is there anyway you can have them forever? I remember adobe applications worked that way before
@@thestrangeandstupidone8116 no there isnt, but please buy clip studio instead it is better than adobe and it has a lifetime purchase
“I kinda rushed this I hope it looks ok...” the animation: gift from the gods. Me: he’s that one kid that complains about his 95% on the final exam
My animation class is doing an animation that expresses the “weight” of an object... I decided to represent weight with its relationship with water and how bigger splashes mean a heavier object.. of course being a noob animator I’ve never animated water before, and let me just say, I’m scared to imagine what I would have done if I didn’t have this video.
"I kind of rushed this"
Boy, this is a masterpiece.
All the time
This is funny that this was uploaded when I wanted to animate water in one of my current animations I'm working on. :)
Yeah, I need to animate a flowing river for a scene in a animated series I’m creating, and I’m not very good at animating water.
I guess the animating gods was feeling bad for you.
*CURRENT* I get it lol
Literally me😮
All I could think of during this whole video was my teacher screaming "HyDrOgEn BoNdInG!!!"
AP Chem is ruining me
Oh no, I came across this AFTER I first animated water. I can dump that animation in the trash now and start over.
No, really, thank you v much for this video, very helpful tricks!
Ok, sorry about that, Thank God I took some time before animating my water fight scene
It's scary how I was practicing animating water and go in my sub box to see this, your timing always seems to be at the right moment, good stuff. Can't wait to utilize some of these tips for an animation I want to upload.
Concave and convex
ConCAVE creates a cave. Like the bowl side of a spoon.
ConVEX, is the flexed dome side of the spoon
Orphanlast ahh thats a good way of remembering thanks!
Thanks
Nice 👍
Some people think it's simple; some people think it's difficult. I think it's simply difficult. However! If you can master animating water, then you've got timing in the bag! Thank you so much for showing us how to do it!
It’s in a spot where it’s not easy but it’s also not complex
It's weird that I'm watching this after I made a small animation of someone waterbending, but this is definite thing I'll keep in mind. Thank you Howard, you're a true inspiration
Bro you are amazing , Im So happy youre still uploading content for helping animators , Keep it up!
you make water droplet look so beautiful. i could watch it all day. I'm glad to have come across this video because i'm having such a hard time with my water splash. thank you
What an absolute God. Every video you cover clarifies questions I've had on those topics. Thanks again for another great video that's resourceful for aspiring animators.

(it is a little bit brutal though)
That awsome bro🔥🔥you are cool😎
I wanted to make like a intro from a raining scene into frozen time effect as zooms into the main picture.

Howard Wimshurst thank you :) nice to be here
what do you use to animate
Thank you for that. It really touched me. So peaceful the energy you transmit. I write my bachelor thesis about "Digital Adaption for a traditional Animation Workflow, for small Businesses". I totally will call you for an Expert-Interview regarding my bachelor thesis. For a month I work now daily on it, starting in the early morning. While I had my green tea, I watched this video and it got me in the right mood for start the work. Thanks! :)
Rene Mathea as someone who is also currently writing her thesis, good luck!
Awesome, that sounds like a very interesting thesis! I would love to read it when you are done if that is possible. I know it is a bit late now but if you have any questions let me know!
What program are you using for animate this?
awesome
WOW, ¿Que programa usas ? man. Excelente video
Can u tell me the name of software ?
What’s your animate software in this video?TVP paints? What do you think of TVP and flash have any big difference?
Hey! What sort of software are you using?
Can you make a tutorial for your intro sequence?
what brush are you using?
Please please please please do an explosion tutorial please!
what animation software is this? is it an older version of flash or something? if anyone knows i'd love a link to a download!
TVPaint
How much does Adam Phillip's fx course cost? I've been to his site a few times. I love his work. I've been following him and his work since the early 2000's. (2000-2009).
I've thought long and hard about his courses before in the past, but still haven't really wanted to pay for them.
Also, is it flash-specific (software specific). Like... If he does a trick with the software, that means I need to invent a new way to do that trick with Opentoonz.
The course is not specific to any software - he used toonboom and that didn't affect my learning at all. I remember the price being something like $24 per month and a lesson will be drip fed once every two weeks which should give you enough time to do the assignments (although I skipped most of the assignments because life got in the way)
totally worth the money if you want to seriously master all FX animation. It's not the kind of information that you can find anywhere on the free internet.
Hello Thanks
the way u animate water is genius
I’m wanting to get into animation and I currently have photoshop but I’ve heard this isn’t the best program to use so what program are you using?
Ethan He is using Krita it’s a free animation software I tried it and it wasn’t for me so I bought adobe animate.
What software are you using brother ?
where are the scenes from in the intro?
Thanks for this!
When i draw on frames and move to next frame the first frame remains the same ,can anyone help
Which program are you using?
tv paint
does this also apply to water sheets that are falling instead of going up? like a bucket of water or something similar? :o
Amanda Carvalho thats a good question! Because it is the same material, some of the characteristics still apply, but the starting shape and structure would probably look a bit different. There is lots of slowmo water bucket footage on youtube thanks to the ALS ice bucket challenge! Lets study it
What is the name of these software of your tutorial.
Oh yeahhhh yeahhh
What software does he use? I want to get into animation and I'm kinda lost.

TV paint
It's extremely expensive so id go for flash
Oi. I just checked. 500eu for standard and 1250 eu for pro. Was hoping for something along the line of painstorm in price. Thanks.
Do you use any actual reference? Can you share please?
I study reference all the time, I look at real life examples of water, in the sink, at the beech, at the river. CZcams is also a great search engine if you don't have what you need locally
This like animating dust
