It was a fascinating discussion to have attended live. My broad critique is that opposition must now be much more comprehensive than just "raising democratic consciousness". The current Karnataka Congress government's achievement is much better than the earlier Congress government. Kudos to the government.
Within 365 days of coming to power, they have restrained to only 2 corruption matters - the Valmiki scandal and now the MUDA scandal.
This is good news for the people of Karnataka. Hope the corruption scandal numbers will be lesser until they complete the entire 5 years.

Social engineering had a least impact with Kannadigas and BJP weren't able to penetrate beyond affluent and popular communities. That's the way the power structure is distributed in Karnataka ever since the millennial. This is just a smoke wall seeming BJP substantiating its gain. However, the venomous popular media may completely break and the chances of counter ideologies will determine the future forward. For large extent, the vacuum will slowly evade and need another two decades to crystalize the critical mass. That's the transition the state is undergoing. Congress will certainly gain those boundaries over BJP, but in a snail pace.
Before every election Yogendra Yadav changes sides .In 2029 he will be on which side ,it is difficult to guess.

Clearly State level is way better than National level both in terms of credibility and consistancy. Prof YY is a good match for Mr Annamala, X-IPS. One is the inverse version of the other. They produce same effect from opposite sides.
Prof YY has been in the national political arena for more than two decades now. He also calls himself a Psephologist. Neither in politics nor in assessment of election and prediction of election outcomes he had any noteworthy role, contribution or success. Infact all his past Electoral predictions have been dismal and way off the mark.
Only time Dr YY seemed to have done justice to the tag of Psephologist is in prediction of 2024 general elections despite his assessments lacking in coherence and credibility. This is proved by the fact that the reasons given by him in his assessments pre and post election results are completely different. Anyway unqualified credit is due to him for coming good one time and for being better than PK. Unqualified because none of his assessments are backed by any data or based on rigours analysis and objective evaluation.
At best his success this time is attributable to the Law of Averages coming good in his favour for the first time. That is inherent in statistics in the longlast. It was speculative and not scientific.
In that sense Psephology without rigour is almost same as Astrology. If an astrologer's predictions go haywards then people switch to another astrologer whose success rate is better. Astrology is never at fault only the failed astrologer is.
On the other hand look at Dr Vasu, a doctor in medicine, and his team. What great pieces of work they have been producing.
• Pre poll 2023 Karnataka assembly election - Predicted 132 to 140 and actual was 135 for Cong. An absolute success.
• Pre poll 2024 Karnataka LS election - Predicted 13 to 17 and actual was 9 for Cong. Partially success.
However, in both the cases, the assessment i.e. correlation of caauses with the outcomes stood consistent both pre and post results. The depth and range of analysis are comprehensive and transparent for all to see and challenge.
A big applause to a great statistician and a successful Psephologist and his team.
Man who hails from Delhi is National Level and man who hails from some part of Karnataka is State Level. Is that fair. Are we giving away an advantage or upper hand to a person based on the geographic region of his origin. Interviewer may not have intendend it that way. Nevertheless such an attribution might place one person on a higher pedestal undeservingly.

What's your response to Muslims who show up with Palestine flags , and show up in large numbers during the death of Yakub Memon who's a terrorist, and the Muslims who elect seperatist leaders like engineer Rashid in Kashmir or the overwhelming support to Pakistan if a cricket game is played in Hyderabad ?
