kaskawiband New Style ,ook wel de Sexy Band van Suriname genoemd, hebben elk drie awards gewonnen. Het nummer ‘Real met Jou’ van New Style is beloond met de award voor de beste gearrangeerde song. New Style heeft ook awards voor de Beste kawinaband en Album van het jaar gewonnen.

This kwaku music is the most soulful music I have ever heard in my whole life. A little bit of resemblance with Mauritius sega and the other african islands in the Indian ocean like Seychelles and Reunion islands.

Kwaku is the name of the summer festival. La Spang organises the tent. The band New Style came from Surinam to play for us. ;-)
