It's just about writing/arranging GOOD SONGS! John Mayer said it at his Berklee Clinic in '09. He said: "...Good Songs. That's it. Just good songs." This is what makes them an artist. Their ability to articulate. Talent is what it is.
I find it interesting how they comment that it's strange for a band to take three years between albums. Considering Blakroc, Brothers, and El Camino came out within one year of each other yet Turn Blue was three years after El Camino.
