Dude, the anime is so underrated because so many people lack the capacity to comprehend the amount of depth in the plot of the storyline, it's tragic. Basically, it just means we few that truly appreciate it are the ones that can actually understand it, and those who insult it can go off on themselves and shove it
Black Reaper + Elwood Jarvis Ya see, I liked it, both the anime and OVA, but from seeing a few AMVs and fanarts on dubstep videos and whatnot, I was kinda thrown due to expecting it to be something along the lines of surreal post apocalypse. Sort of in a similar fashion to what the Nier games are. Personally, I’d just like to see it make a comeback in some form. Be it an adaptation of the Innocent Souls manga, the videogame, a continuation of the previous series, or a completely new take on the IP, the characters, fight animations, and visuals were all really good, and I’d like to see more of that.

Wasn’t my thing personally, but the fight scenes and aesthetic of the ‘other world’ were enough to keep me watching. And I guess there are points of intrigue in the story now that I think about it. It was years ago that I watched it, so details are pretty fuzzy. I guess it almost has like a Persona vibe to it arguably.
