I was blown away when I learned that bugs hate the smell of 10 different plants, and if you mix rubbing alcohol with water in the spray bottle/ spray around doors and windows they will stay out of the house. The other really sweet one is being able to have a cook out and have no bugs by just putting some fresh rosemary on the grill while you're cooking
To eliminate cooking odors, pour white vinegar in a small container like a shot glass and set on the countertop. Within hours the odor will be gone. Thanks for the ideas. The grocery bag tip takes too much time. You have a beautiful home. Many people are allergic to scents so the dryer sheets will not work in many homes.
One hack that works great for carpets is, mix 50/50 blend baking soda and salt together and sprinkle it on the carpet. This won't hurt the pets, and reduces flea and lice populations inside the carpets. Wait about 1 hour then vacuum it up. The vacuum will kill all fleas and lice from the carpet and even vacuumed furniture if you do this with furniture. Not to mention the baking soda eliminates pee smell and pee stains from any untrained pets. To add a fresh scent just add in a few drops of your favorite essential oils before sprinkling.

Love the plastic bag hack. I've got "boo-coodles" of those. The chalk hack is genius! I use the lint roller on my lamp shades, too. Works pretty good on blinds, also. I love using the dryer sheets in my luggage. I guess I'm lazy with my crockpot because I like using the crockpot liners.😂. Oh. I love the plastic picture frame idea!

I'll tell ya what else works. If you are out camping out a strong scented kitchen garbage bag on the ground next to you on the ground and the bugs will not come near you either and you will find dead bugs especially June beetle bugs dead on the bag.

So many good hacks. I do the kleenex box for grocery bags. Only I just stuff them in one at a time. I use a square one for small bags and rectangle one for regular sized bags. I had to laugh at the mangled toilet paper holder. I just did that when I fell in my bathroom. Lol. I have to say I have used the dryer sheets in a lot of ways, but I learned a few more from you. There are lots for very useful suggestions here, thank you for sharing. Just a note about storing trash bags at the bottom of the can…if something with a strong odor is put in the can, for example fish wrappings or trays or pet food cans😂, that odor will permeate all of the stored bags in the can which will be forever present with each new bag used. …I learned the hard way many years ago!

For the crockpot just use the crockpot liners, then you don't have to worry about clean up, just throw away the bag, and your crockpot is as clean as before you started.

For trash bags that are on a roll. Pull the fresh trash bag partly out and, Then partially tear off and then pull that next one is ready to pull out pre partially rip the next one. This is a lot easier done than said.

Don't know if I'm the originator or this one or not...not important:
Got tired of messy veggie oil bottle and with cleaning it up after each time, so I got my ice pick and hammer and punctured the plastic lid with one good wack. Now I just pull the bottle from the cupboard, add the oil I need to the pan, and replace the bottle to its shelf. No drips, and saves a bit of time...only takes seconds! : )

OMG Lisa, Now i really want to come visit you. I have used dryer sheet in my sneakers for years, under the mattress and under rugs in my home i have also sprayed fabric florals with Fabreeze, I have used them in my kids gym bags as well, when they were at school, they are all grown up and out in their own homes now doing what i did. i have used them in my garbage pails and in the bathroom also in my linen closet too under seat cushions and any where else i can find to put them. I not ashamed to say i inherited my fathers feet they can be pretty fruitless which is why i used them in my sneakers and boots the dress shoes i don't bother with, instead fabreeze works well too Lightly mist the shoes while you are getting ready and its nice and dry then slip your feet in and you are ready to go. These are great hacks. I'll be trying the headlight one. I heard you shouldn't place essential oil in direct contact with fabrics. Also, I think I'd be cheaper to change the sponge than to run it through a wash cycle, especially if the dishwasher is empty.

Some great hacks this time. Never thought of using pillowcases to protect shoes and purses before. So smart. I do use pool noodles inside my boots to help keep them upright. Not sure if you had heard that hack before.

So many great ideas! My husband prefers toilet paper over soft tissues, for some reason, so once I go through a box of tissues with lotion that I prefer, I'm going to pop a roll of TP in that box and see how he likes it. Has to look better than the rolls of TP he has strategically placed throughout the house; meaning all his favorite spots for watching sports, taking naps, and working. 😉

I’ve done that hack about turning the dairy products upside down, I had a huge mess!!! Everything leaked out. I don’t suggest that. Maybe before it’s opened. But afterwards, not so much. Or maybe it’s just me.
