One of these tractors was the first 4 wheel drive tractor I ever saw. My neighbor had a contract with John Deere to test new tractors on his ground. We were still running John Deere 820s at the time.
Awesome tractor TY for sharing
A 1960s 8020 John Deere sold a few hours away from me here in Saskatchewan a few years ago for $90 000. I do believe it went to a buyer in the states. The 8020s sold for around $31 000 new they were produced from 61-64 99 were made and 74 still remain. So I guess it does pay to buy JD!
My neighbour has a WA-14 that they were using up to about 6-7 years ago
I recorded the audio from the auctioneer's live web feed and added still photos. The implement portion of the auction is already posted on my youtube channel, and the tractor version will be posted shortly.
wow, the bid really advanced for 45 to 75 k!
Be interesting to see how many are still operable or where they are all located. I would say collectors have most of them.
TractorData.com says that there were 28 built from 68 to 70 at a cost of $41,700. I just wonder what the buyer was going to do with this 'big ole' tractor. :)
Paid twice what is was worth new? NUTS!?
Did you get any video of the 5020 repower. Would like to see that. Wanted to make this sale for months but had to work.
Oughta paint that wagner yellow instead of that crap green of the company that shafted them so hard it nearly put them out of business.
WA-17 isn't that really a Wagner?
Yes
What year was the tractor?
+52kom6tsu TractorData.com says they were built by another company from 1968 to 70 and 28 were built. Price listed was $41,700.
Thanks Mark, I am a farming enthusiast since my family, not immediate, farmed in Georgia for more than 80 years. I have 30 acres on the edge of my Uncle's 2000 estate farm and I get to watch and sometimes get to ride along in the farming operation.
@@jbmbanter Wagner was the original builder.
